Monetization

LISTEN provides several ways for podcasters to earn revenue from their podcasts.

Monetization Setup

To receive earnings, you must create a Stripe Connect account from Stripe Connect Settings.

• Setup Steps

1. From the top-right icon on the homepage,
2. select Dashboard.
3. On the Dashboard, click Receive Earnings,
4. then click Create Stripe Connect Account.

5. Enter the required information, such as your email address and phone number.

   

Paid Episodes

You can set any price and sell episodes individually. When a listener tries to play a paid episode, a payment screen will appear asking for their card details. Once they enter the information and click Purchase Episode, they’ll be able to listen.

How to Set Up

1. Go to your dashboard and click Enable Revenue. (This setup is handled on Stripe’s page.) By entering your name, phone number, and bank account information, you’ll be able to receive payouts.
2. In the Episode Visibility & Pricing section on the episode editing page, select Paid. You can then set the price (¥50 – ¥999,999) and choose the account that receives the payout.

👉 The number of paid episodes you can create currently follows the same limits as the Premium Plan’s “limited access episode” feature. Consider upgrading your plan if necessary.

From each sale, LISTEN takes a 20% service fee. The remaining amount is your revenue and will be deposited into your designated bank account.

You can check payout details anytime from your dashboard.

Gifts

You can also receive revenue through gifts sent by listeners.

Listeners can choose an item they like and send it as a gift!

• Gifts are available for purchase from ¥50 to ¥10,000.
• Each gift can include a short message and image sent to the podcaster.

To send a gift, scroll to the bottom of an episode page and click Send a Gift. Select a gift, complete the payment with a credit card, and the gift will appear on the episode page.

• All gifts are displayed in a list on the episode page.
• In the detail view, the accompanying comment will also be shown.
• Gifts appear above the ⭐️ (favorite) button.
• The sender’s icon and comment are visible to all listeners.

Podcasters receive the gift value minus a 20% service fee as revenue.

⚠️ Note: The Send a Gift button only appears for accounts that have completed the Enable Revenue setup. If you’d like to receive gifts, please follow the setup steps above.

Event Ticket Sales

You can sell event tickets by setting any price. You can freely configure ticket information from the “New Ticket” option under “Ticket Management” on the event page.

“rooom” (Podcast-Specific Membership Service)

“rooom” is a subscription-based membership service developed by OND Inc. and Zatsudan Inc. On rooom, podcasters can easily build membership communities and foster ongoing connections with listeners through features like comments and chat.

Podcasters can freely set prices and offer members-only content (articles, audio, video) and benefits.

Receive Earnings

To receive your earnings, submit a withdrawal request from the “Receive Earnings” page on your dashboard.

A withdrawal fee of 0.25% of the withdrawal amount plus ¥250 will be charged.

When you submit a withdrawal request, the credit card registration screen will appear. The fee is charged each time you make a withdrawal. (No fee is charged if you do not make a withdrawal.)
