Loudness Normalization
On LISTEN, you can apply filters to automatically adjust audio loudness and remove noise from your uploaded files.
Automatic Loudness Normalization
When you upload an audio file, LISTEN can automatically normalize it to an appropriate loudness level. Normalization is performed with the following target values:
- Loudness: -15 LUFS
- True Peak: -1.0 dB
⚠️ Please note: Normalization does not guarantee exact alignment with these values.
These values are close to the standard loudness used by major platforms such as Spotify, helping to prevent unintended audio conversions.
Notes on Filter Selection
- Audio filters are only applied when a new file is uploaded.
- If no new file is uploaded, the option text will appear in light gray.
Asynchronous Processing
To avoid issues such as needing to keep your browser open for a long time or uploads stopping due to errors, filter processing is handled asynchronously in the background.
- The episode creation page will refresh once the processing is complete.
- Processing may take up to 10 minutes.
- Immediately after uploading, the original file will be available for playback. Once processing finishes, the filtered file will replace it.
File names are automatically updated after processing, e.g.
- filename_normalized
- filename_denoised
