私は昔から物が好きで、借りたものを返せなかったり、人の物を傷つけたりすることがとても苦手です。一方で、人に譲ったものは、その瞬間から相手のものとして自由にしてほしいとも考えています。 このエピソードでは、母が昔の着物を親戚へ譲ったことをきっかけに、「物への執着」や「所有することへの責任」、そして人それぞれ違う物との距離感について考えます。スイスで暮らすようになってから、自分と他人では物に対する価値観が違うことをより強く意識するようになり、自分の基準を相手に押し付けないよう心がけるようになりました。 物を大切にしたい気持ちと、人との関係を大切にしたい気持ち。その間で揺れながら、自分なりの距離感を探している雑談です。I've always been someone who cares deeply about objects. I dislike borrowing things because I'm afraid of damaging them or forgetting to return them. At the same time, once I give something away, I try to accept that it now belongs to someone else, free to use however they wish. In this episode, a conversation with my mother about old family kimonos leads me to reflect on attachment, ownership, and how differently people relate to their belongings. Living in Switzerland has made me realize even more that everyone has their own standards for caring for possessions, and I've learned not to expect others to treat things exactly as I do. This is a personal reflection on balancing respect for objects with respect for people—and learning when it's time to let go.

スイスで働く中で、私は「多様性」や「インクルージョン」という言葉が掲げられていても、実際には形だけで終わってしまう場面を何度も見てきました。ワークショップや議論は繰り返される一方で、外国人や若い世代など少数派の意見は十分に反映されず、組織そのものはほとんど変わりません。 このエピソードでは、私自身が感じたトークニズムへの違和感や、AIを活用しながらドイツ語で改善案をまとめ、実際に上層部へ提案した経験について話します。多様性は掲げるだけでは意味がなく、本当に必要なのは、一人ひとりの声が組織を変える力を持てる環境ではないかと考えています。Working in Switzerland, I've often felt that the words diversity and inclusion sound better than the reality. Organizations hold workshops and talk about change, but the voices of minorities—such as foreigners and younger people—are often heard without leading to meaningful action. In this episode, I reflect on my own experiences with tokenism, how I used AI to organize my thoughts in German, and why I decided to present concrete proposals to management. For me, diversity isn't about appearances or good intentions—it's about creating workplaces where different voices can genuinely influence the way things are done

ワインや日本酒の試飲会で、私が一番気になるのは「何を造ったのか」ではなく、「なぜそう造ったのか」です。スイスで暮らすようになってから、日本のワインの繊細さや和食との相性を改めて意識するようになりました。その味わいは、気候や文化、料理との関係まで含めて、造り手の意図が反映されているように感じます。私はお酒を飲むだけでなく、版画やものづくりにも携わってきたからこそ、作品や商品の背景にある考え方や哲学に自然と興味を持ってしまいます。だから試飲会では、ネットでは調べられない「なぜ？」を、できることなら造り手本人に聞いてみたい。このエピソードでは、作り手の声や対話だからこそ得られる学びと、ものづくりへの尽きない好奇心について語ります。When I attend wine or sake tastings, what interests me most isn't simply what was made—it's why it was made that way. Living in Switzerland has made me appreciate the delicate style of Japanese wines and how naturally they pair with Japanese cuisine. To me, those characteristics reflect the winemaker's intentions, shaped by climate, culture, and the food they expect their wines to accompany. As both an artist and someone with qualifications in sake and wine, I'm always curious about the ideas behind what people create. Whether it's a print, a bottle of wine, or a piece of craftsmanship, I want to understand the creator's philosophy—not just the finished product. In this episode, I reflect on the value of speaking directly with makers, and why genuine conversations often reveal far more than anything you can find online.

今回は、このポッドキャストで何を話したいのか、そして何を話さないようにしたいのかについて考えます。子どもとの毎日は話題に尽きません。もうすぐ2歳になる娘は毎日のように成長し、新しい発見があります。それでも、この番組では子ども自身をコンテンツにするのではなく、自分が見たこと、感じたこと、考えたことを中心に話していきたいと思っています。友人や家族についても同じです。身近な人のエピソードではなく、それらを通して自分が何を学び、どう考えたのかを言葉にすることを大切にしたいと考えています。一方で、記録的な暑さが続くスイスでは、子どもと自分が無事に一日を過ごすだけで精一杯の日々。インプットもアウトプットも思うように進まず、いつも楽しみにしているポッドキャストさえ聴けない一週間になりました。さらに、減量治療の承認待ちが続き、生活の小さな不便や出費も重なっています。それでも、今は焦らず、一日一日を乗り切ることを大切にしたいと思っています。In this episode, I reflect on what I want this podcast to be—and what I intentionally choose not to share.Life with my almost two-year-old daughter is full of stories. Every day brings something new, and I could easily spend every episode talking about parenting. But I've realised that I don't want this podcast to rely on my child or the people around me for its content. Instead, I'd rather share my own observations, thoughts, and the ways I make sense of the world.The same goes for friends and family. Rather than telling their stories, I want to focus on what I learn from my experiences and how they shape my perspective.At the same time, Switzerland is going through another intense heatwave, and simply getting through each day has become exhausting. Keeping both my daughter and myself comfortable has left little room for reading, listening, or creating. For the first time in a long while, I didn't even manage to listen to my usual podcasts.I also share my frustration about the ongoing wait for approval of my weight-loss treatment, and how small everyday inconveniences can quietly add up. For now, though, my goal is simple: just keep going, one day at a time.

今回は、最近よく聴いているポッドキャスト『OVER THE SUN』について話します。私にとってポッドキャストは、情報を得るだけではなく、「自分より少し先を歩いている人」が何を考え、どんな働き方や生き方をしているのかを知るための大切な場所でもあります。身近にブレインストーミングできる相手が少ないからこそ、こうした番組から多くの刺激を受けています。一方で、日本のポッドキャストで語られる働き方やマインドセットは、スイスで暮らす自分にはそのまま当てはまらないこともあります。それは誰が悪いということではなく、社会や働き方そのものが違うからこそ感じるギャップです。そんな違いも含めて考える時間が、私にとっては面白く、大切なインプットになっています。今回は、『OVER THE SUN』をきっかけに、働き方や海外で暮らすことについて考えた雑談です。In this episode, I talk about one of the podcasts I've been enjoying recently: OVER THE SUN.For me, podcasts are more than a source of information. 最近の私の推しは塩野誠さんです。経済や投資の世界の人なので、最初は正直ちょっと身構えていました。プロフィール写真もきっちりしているし、「意識高そうな人なのかな」と勝手に思っていた部分もあります。でもChronicleの『News Connect 日曜版』を聴いていると、その印象がだいぶ変わりました。経済や社会の話をしているのに、どこか一歩引いたメタな視点があって、しかも妙に人間くさい。音楽の話が出てきたり、経営や投資の話だけでは終わらなかったりするのも面白いところです。なにより好きなのは、その話し方。必要以上に熱く語るわけでもなく、かといって冷たいわけでもなく、なんとなく「まあそんな感じですよね」という少し気だるい温度感で話しているのが心地いい。私は経済や政治の専門家ではありませんが、塩野さんの話を聞いていると、そういう分野の話も自然と聞いてみたくなります。今回は、そんな最近の「推し」についての話です。One of my recent podcast favourites is Makoto Shiono.Since he comes from the world of economics, investing, and business, I initially assumed he would be a rather serious, intimidating figure. Even his professional photos give off that impression.But after listening to him on Chronicle's News Connect Sunday Edition, I found myself genuinely enjoying his perspective.What I like is that he talks about economics and society from a slightly detached, meta-level viewpoint, while still feeling surprisingly human. Conversations often drift into music, culture, or everyday observations rather than staying strictly within the world of finance.And honestly, I love his delivery. He doesn't sound overly enthusiastic or performative. Instead, he speaks with a relaxed, almost slightly weary tone that somehow makes complex topics feel approachable.I'm not an economist, nor do I work in finance, but listening to him makes me curious about subjects I might otherwise ignore.This episode is about why I've unexpectedly become a fan.

今回は、バーゼルの猛暑とArt Baselの時期に、久しぶりに日本から来た中学時代の友人と再会した話です。中学の入学式の日に出会って以来、20年以上の付き合いになる友人とは、普段はそれぞれ違う国で暮らしています。それでも久しぶりに会うと、スイスでの生活や買い物、日本食材のことなど、海外暮らしならではの話題で自然と盛り上がりました。話は最近よく聴いているポッドキャストにも広がります。友人がすすめてくれた『安住紳一郎の日曜天国』や、Audibleとポッドキャストの違いについて話しながら、気軽に聴けるポッドキャストの魅力を改めて感じました。また、長年会えなくても、会えばすぐ昔に戻れる同級生の存在や、海外で暮らすからこそ感じる友人との再会の喜びについても語っています。今回は、Art Basel、ポッドキャスト、そして20年以上続く友情についての雑談です。In this episode, I talk about the recent heatwave in Basel, Art Basel, and reconnecting with a close friend from junior high school.We've known each other for more than twenty years, ever since we met on our very first day of school. Although we now live in different countries, meeting again after several years felt surprisingly natural. We found ourselves chatting about everyday life in Switzerland, grocery shopping, Japanese ingredients, and all the little things that only people living abroad seem to understand.Our conversation eventually turned to podcasts. My friend recommended Nichiyo Tengoku with Shinichiro Azumi, and we talked about why podcasts feel so approachable compared with audiobooks. Ep.028. Podcast "News Connect(by Chronicle)" と学ぶことの楽しさ。
クロニクルと「知ること」の楽しさ今回は、最近よく聴いているポッドキャストについて話しました。以前紹介した番組に加えて、最近はChronicleの「ニュースコネクト」をよく聴いています。5分ほどで国内外のニュースやメガトレンドを紹介してくれるので、家事や子どもがお昼寝している間など、ちょっとした時間でも情報を得られるのが魅力です。特に好きなのは週末版で、毎回さまざまな分野の専門家が出演し、日本の産業や経済、社会課題について、それぞれの専門的な視点から語ってくれます。印象的だったのは、世代も専門分野も異なるゲストたちが、「自分の専門性を生かして日本をより良くしたい」という共通した思いを持っていたことです。また、古典ラジオの深井龍之介さんが話していた「中長期的な合理性」という考え方にも共感しました。ちょうど日本人の友人と、スイスでも短期的な利益ばかりが重視され、中長期的な視点が欠けているのではないかという話をしていたので、とても興味深く感じました。私はアートや食に関わる仕事をしていますが、経済や政治、産業の大きな流れを知ることも、自分が社会の中で生きる上で欠かせないと考えています。そのため、「アーティストだから経済やビジネスには興味がないでしょう」と決めつけられるのは好きではありません。以前紹介した『Bilingual News』や『北京発、中国取材の現場から』も同じように、科学や文化、国際情勢など幅広い世界を知るきっかけを与えてくれる大切な情報源です。これからも、普段どんなポッドキャストを聴き、どんなインプットをしているのかを、少しずつ紹介していきたいと思います。Chronicle, Podcasts, and the Joy of LearningIn this episode, I continue talking about the podcasts I listen to regularly and why they have become such an important part of my daily life.Lately, I've been listening to News Connect by Chronicle, a five-minute daily news podcast that's easy to fit into everyday routines, whether I'm doing housework or enjoying a quiet moment while my daughter is asleep. What struck me most is that, despite coming from different generations and professions, many guests share a common goal: using their own expertise to contribute to Japan's future.I also reflect on an episode featuring Ryunosuke Fukai from Koten Radio, whose discussion of long-term thinking and rational decision-making resonated with conversations I've had with Japanese friends about working life in Switzerland. We found ourselves asking why so many organisations focus on short-term gains instead of long-term sustainability.Although I work in the arts and food world, I believe it's important to understand economics, politics, and broader social trends. 40代の目標は無難なババアになること。今まで知り合いに、私のプライベートをゴシップみたいに消費されたり、ディスられたり、親の言われないようなことを言われてきたのが嫌で、縁遠くなった人たちもいる。最近年下の友人も増えてきた中で、「彼氏はー？」とかも質問できるけど、私はその子たちのプライベートをコンテンツとして消費したくないので、「最近面白かったことは？」とか聞いちゃう。自分も子どもがいて、自分で絵が描けて、「子育て日記」みたいにインスタグラムとかに載せることもできるけど、人の褌で相撲を取るみたいな気持ちになるし、子供をコンテンツ扱いしてるみたいに思っちゃうので、それはやらない（注意！周りの人がそれをやってても何も思わないのでご安心を。）人と深く付き合っていけばいくほど「無難」て難しくなるけど、それでもなるべく誰かしこいやな思いさせないようなババアになりたいです。
Ep.019. 日本語の響の話、もしくは家のなかでの言語での気づき。
家で日本語で子供に話しかけてると、夫に、「どうしてそんなに複雑な文で話しかけるるのか」とよく言われる。ドイツ語の響きは耳馴染みがあるからいいとして、日本語だと母音がある、音節が多い？、音の粒が多く聞こえるため、同じ事を言っていても複雑に聞こえるらしい。同時に中国語で同じ文で例を挙げたら単語(漢字）４つ、秒速で言い終わる。なので、日本語ほど複雑な文章構成に聞こえない模様。というわけで頑張って日本語で子供に話しているけど、わかっているようだけどガン無視されることもある。日本語をあまりわからない夫に動機消えてるのかがわかるのも面白い。子供にスイスドイツ語と日本語で話しかけ、言語の発展、発達、どうやって形成されていくか、毎日新しい発見があって楽しい。
Ep.018. 読書仲間とチャック・パラニューク。
1年に1,2回会わないと気がすまない読書仲間。酒を飲みながら、最近読んだ本、聞いたポッドキャストなどに話をする。アメリカとスイスのハーフで、英語ネイティブでもあるから触れられる言語も多いし、学んできたことから知識も広い。10代のころに吉本ばなな読んだよねー！と盛り上がったことも。いつぞや、帰り際に「これ読んで！」とカバンにねじ込まれたチャック・パラニュークの「サバイバー」。英語で呼んでピンとこなくて、オーディブルで日本語で聞いて納得し、もう一度英語で読んで、郵便で返却。スティーブキング（？）より好きかも。次はフィットクラブを読んでみたい。その友達に限らず、数少ない読書仲間だいじ。
Ep.017. 本交換本棚。
本を手放すときは、町中にある本交換本棚を利用。うちの近所にも３つほどある日本語の本を置いておいても次の日にはなくなってる。私もそこで素敵な本があるともらっていく。子ども向け宗教学の本ももらってきた。父方の実家が寺だったのもあり、私のアイデンティを考えたときに、日本文化を考える意味でも宗教はいつも気になってる。子どもにも良さそうなので、まだ家に取っておいてある。
