Leaving University, Finding New Questions
In this episode, I reflect on my complicated relationship with academia.
Although I left university years ago, my curiosity never really disappeared. If anything, books, podcasts, manga, and everyday conversations have only given me more questions to think about.
We talk about how stories such as Attack on Titan and Chainsaw Man can lead to unexpected questions about free will, inheritance, culture, religion, and the ways societies shape individual lives. What began as reading for enjoyment gradually became a source of intellectual curiosity, opening doors to subjects I never formally studied, from sociology and cultural anthropology to philosophy and religious studies.
Along the way, I share memories of studying in Switzerland, thoughts on language and learning, and the strange feeling of becoming interested in academic questions after leaving academia.
This episode isn't an academic analysis or a lecture. It's a conversation about curiosity, unfinished interests, and the possibility of returning to study someday—not because of a degree, but because there are still questions I want to explore.
