無駄話映画？『#パルプ・フィクション 』　〜運命の歯車は誰が回すのか〜 “A Movie About Nothing?” Pulp Fiction and the Question: Who's Spinning the Gears of Fate?

どうも、パーソナリティのまこです。

ジャンゴについて語ったこともありましたが、今回はタランティーノ初期作品の傑作、パルプ・フィクションです。

初期タランティーノの魅力がこれでもかと詰まった一作。

無駄話と呼ばれる超絶長々クソ会話が続くのに、なぜか聞き入ってしまう。

そしてそれを一切感じさせない圧倒的なテンポの良さ。

群像劇が少しずつ絡みあって最後にすべてが繋がっていく。

終劇後も不思議な充足感が体を駆け巡ります。

しかしね、この映画が何を問いかけたかったのか、というと意外と意見が分かれるところ。

メッセージ性の強い作品群に比べて、「スタイリッシュ映画」と言う言葉で片付けられがちな作品ですが、いやそんなわけあるかい！と。

この映画が我々に問いかけてくるものについて本気出して考えてみました。

Hey, I’m Mako — your always-talking film host.

We’ve talked Tarantino before (Django, anyone?), but this time we’re going straight to the source:
Pulp Fiction, one of the greatest hits from his early era.

This film is pure, unfiltered Tarantino.
Scene after scene of gloriously pointless, drawn-out, ridiculous conversation… and yet somehow, you’re glued to every word.
And the pacing? Impossibly tight.

The interwoven ensemble plot builds slowly, threads start to crisscross, and then — bam — it all clicks together in the end.
You walk away weirdly fulfilled, even if you’re not sure why.

But here’s the thing:
What is this movie actually trying to say?
Some call it "just style."
Some say “cool, but shallow.”
But… come on. There’s way more going on under the surface.

In this episode, I try to really dig into what Pulp Fiction is asking us.
And yeah — we go all in.
