私は今、アメリカのバージニア州に来ています。
私にはアメリカ人の親戚がいて、日本の親戚関係的な言葉で言うと、ハトコにあたります。

日本人の私と親戚とはいえ、今いるアメリカ人の親戚はみんなアメリカで生まれ育っているので、誰も日本語はわからないし話せません。

私も英語勉強中のみなので、下手っぴな英語でコミュニケーションをとっています。
以前滞在した時は、単語で話すことが多かったのですが、その帰国後からKARのポッドキャストをずっと聞いたり、
洋画を英語音声と英語字幕で見たり、みんなとチャットを送りあったり、たまにフェイスタイムしたりしていたのが効果あったのか、以前より文章でしゃべれるようになったと思います。
まだまだお二人のようなネイティブレベルには程遠いのと、みんなの優しさで会話が成り立っている部分は否めませんが。
さて、前置きが長くなってしまいました。
今回この滞在中に親戚から聞かれたことについて、ケビンさんとヤマチャンさんのお考えをお聞きしたクリクエストを送らせていただきました。

私が帰国した数週間後に、今度はアメリカの親戚が日本に遊びに来ます。

その際に簡単な挨拶などを日本語で話せるようになりたいから教えてほしい。
ということでいくつか質問をされて、
How are you? と Good to see you! もしくは Good to see you again! の訳し方に悩んでしまいました。
会話の導入のきっかけになる挨拶だよなと私なりに解釈したのですが、
そうなると適切な日本語ってなんだろうと煮詰まってしまい、あんまり長かったり複雑な日本語だと覚えて発音するのも難しいし、
何かうまい訳し方や言葉はないかなと思いリクエストさせていただきます。
