Welcome to Kevin's English Room Podcast.
Hello.
Hey guys.
How's it going?
So, this is カズヨさん.
All right.
Do you know this program?
No, I've never heard of it.
It's like a quiz.
Variety quiz, I think.
So basically there's a Japanese quiz
and then there are some people that are not verygood at English.
They try to translate into English and then do aquiz.
Yeah, sure.
Sounds nice.
Wait, wait, hold on.
Yeah.
Can you come again?
Yeah.
Why?
Oh, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay.
Okay.
5W1H turns everything into why for them.
Oh, for that.
Oh, okay, okay, okay.
That was the original question phrase, but theysaid it not what, but they used why instead of
what.
Oh, okay, okay, okay.
Yeah.
That's the style of these guys, I think.
03:00
Okay, okay.
So.
Ready?
I'm ready.
Let's go.
Can you go again?
Sure, yeah.
Calculator?
No, right?
Probably not.
Sometimes Michael Jackson doesn't make sense.
Yeah.
Michael Jackson is very important.
Michael Jackson is important.
It's the key.
Moon?
Moon?
Yeah, that's a good way of thinking.
Think about his signature moves, signature.
Yeah, like moonwalk, right?
It's like zero gravity moon.
Oh, yeah, it's for.
Signature move?
Yeah.
Moonwalk, right?
Moonwalk.
The tilting and.
Yes, yes.
Signature move.
I don't know.
What is it?
I give up.
The answer is.
It's the, you know, the half circle that you gotlike little measurements and you measure the.
Okay, okay, that.
Yeah, okay.
Okay, yeah, I wouldn't have known.
Okay.
It's a difficult question.
I see, I see.
Yeah, I think the Michael Jackson.
They won't explain the angles and everything like.
Okay, okay, okay.
Nice, nice.
Like a ball cut.
Like half circle.
Got it, got it, got it.
I think so.
It's related to mathematics.
That's why it's plus minus.
Yeah, I think.
That's an interesting question.
It sounds like very good.
Yeah.
Funny program.
That's all this.
Yeah.
Funny.
I would love to try these.
One of those questions.
Right, that's what we wanted to do with Kageshan.
But he's like, he's too smart for this.
Yeah, he can speak English.
Remember we were like thinking about like a gamethat we could do for Namahage.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And I was like, well, Kageshan can't do this.
Maybe there's some sort of like magic happening.
06:01
Yeah.
But it's like, he's like, he's too good.
He's too smart for like that to happen.
It wasn't interesting at all.
Yeah, right, right.
He's too well, you don't understand it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Right, yeah.
You know the TV show where, I think it was likeKanjani.
Okay.
They did like the
challenge.
Oh, yeah, it was viral.
Yeah, I've seen the clip.
Yeah, yeah.
That's pretty funny.
It's like a
Isn't it like a Dengon game thing?
Oh, yeah, I think it was.
I think it's the same program, same corner.
But yeah, there's the Dengon game version, likethe Nyuukoku Shinsa version as well.
Okay, okay, okay.
Yeah, but I think I know that Dengon game was aswell.
Yeah, yeah, right.
I think so.
Yeah, it's like the group member, the nativespeaker, group member, native speaker, and
they do a little Dengon game.
Yes, yeah, that's fun, that's fun.
Yeah, yeah, right, right, right, right.
That's very good.
That is very nice.
Yeah, the Japanese TV show does a really good job.
Yeah.
Thinking about all those things.
I really do.
Yeah.
I wonder who comes up with those rules.
Huh, Seisaku Gaisha or...
Yeah.
Probably Seisaku Gaisha.
Seisaku Gaisha or maybe the TV Kyoku itself.
Maybe, yes.
Yeah, it depends on that.
It could be either one.
Yeah.
Okay.
Right.
They're good at making those Kikakus andeverything.
Yeah, right, they are.
They are.
I'm not related, but another thing that I'm alwayslike blown away by
is that they hardly ever make jimaku mistakes.
Oh.
I've never seen a TV make a jimaku mistake.
Even the English jimaku as well.
Oh, really?
I've never, never seen an English mistake on TV.
Wow, that's special.
Right?
They must be hiring somebody.
Yeah, I wonder what they're doing to get thatquality.
Wow.
Never.
Oh, that's nice.
The grammar is always correct.
Wow.
The periods and the spaces and apostrophes and thecapitalization.
Yeah.
All on point, all the time.
That's hard.
That's hard to do.
On YouTube, I always see that mistake.
It's like, my god.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
They have like a kouetsu.
Kouetsu.
Right, right.
Professionals are working in it.
Nice.
Like, they have kouetsu for books, right?
Yeah.
I've seen English mistakes on books, but neverseen on TV.
09:02
Never seen on TV.
Wow.
Yeah, right.
So that's something special.
And I'm sure there's no Japanese jimaku mistakes, right?
I mean, I don't think so.
Yeah.
And like, on the news shows, sometimes after thenews segment,
the announcers would be like,
They're, they do it fast.
Yeah, yeah.
They're like 10 seconds after the mistake happens.
Right.
And then they're already apologizing.
Yeah.
For, it's unbelievable.
Unbelievable.
True.
I wonder what they're doing.
Thanks for listening, guys.
Thank you.
Bye-bye.
