文法ミスの影響を分析
Welcome to Kevin's English Room Podcast.
Hello.
So once a month we are doing what we're doing on Kevin's English Room Podcast Plus on this show.
So Yamchaan is going to pick a message that was sent to the Plus and pick up an English question.
Yes.
I'm going to answer them here. All right, let's do it.
So this is from Sado-san.
Okay.
So actually this is not sent to directly to the Podcast Plus.
Okay.
Which is really confusing.
Okay.
But I'm going to pick.
Let's hear it. Okay.
I found it on the usual podcast messages.
That were actually sent to the Plus.
Yeah. Because it was like English questions.
Okay.
So, I mean.
Okay. All right.
Confusing, but I understand what you're talking about.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
So, Sado-san.
Okay.
英語の文法と違和感
英語を上達するには失敗を恐れずに喋ることが重要だと言われていますが、実際のところ文法が間違っているとどれくらい違和感があるのでしょうか。
Okay.
So, there are two sentences.
Okay.
One.
The bed I slept in last night wasn't very comfortable.
Okay.
Second line.
The bed I slept that last.
Sorry.
The bed I slept last night wasn't very comfortable.
Okay.
So, I guess in is missing.
Oh, okay.
蒸気の分では文法的には韻がないとおかしいですが、なくても意味が通じそうに思えます。
文法エラーの影響
他にも全知識などがなかったり消えていたりした場合に感じる違和感はあるのでしょうか。
Yeah. So, it really depends on which type of grammatical errors you make.
Okay.
So, I remember we just did a Plus episode on more cheaper.
Oh, yes, yes, yes.
I've said more cheaper and that's grammatically wrong, but for me, and I'm sure many of the
other English speakers would agree on this, that more cheaper, right, grammatically wrong,
but it doesn't sound that weird.
Like, a lot of people say it, more cheaper, less cheaper.
More higher.
More higher.
It should just be higher, cheaper, right?
But it's just, yeah, those types of mistakes, those types of grammatical errors,
it doesn't, it really doesn't, it's not weird at all.
It doesn't make any difference.
Yeah, I don't feel any weirdness from it.
Okay.
Some are like that, some aren't like that.
Some, if you make a mistake, you'll instantly be like, weird, sounds weird, something's wrong.
In the case of that, the bed I slept in last night was uncomfortable.
Yeah, I do feel a little bit of, just a little bit of weirdness.
Yeah, the bed I slept in was uncomfortable.
The bed I slept in was uncomfortable.
Do you still understand the basic meanings, or you just misunderstand it?
文法ミスの重要性
With that sentence, I understand it.
You understand it?
I understand the meaning.
Yeah, it does.
I do.
Okay.
I understand the meaning.
Yeah, the bed I slept in was uncomfortable.
Right, and what sucks is that there's no rule of which grammatical errors are not important or not.
Yeah, it's just a matter of frequency and how many people, how much people make that mistake or not.
And a lot of people, the more people that make that mistake, the more it's okay to make that mistake.
And it just feels not weird from itself.
Right.
Yeah, right.
So, in some cases, you'll be noticed?
Yes.
Or you'll be, like, maybe...
Sent a different meaning?
Asked, maybe?
Yeah, like, what did you say?
Yeah, it's possible.
Yeah.
It's possible.
Yeah, true.
Right.
But still, what you're saying,
is correct to me.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You'd rather make that mistake and talk than just not talk, right?
Right, right, right, right, right, right.
Absolutely.
So that you will know which mistake would be, like, okay or not.
That's right.
Which one or not, so.
Agreed.
コミュニケーションの意義
Yeah.
Agreed.
All right.
Thanks for listening, guys.
Thank you.
Bye-bye.
