人間の進化に関する疑問
Welcome to Kevin's English Room Podcast.
Hello.
I have a deep, deep question.
Deep, deep question?
Deep, deep question.
I think about human beings all the time.
And yesterday was a time, time of the year,
where I started thinking about the evolution of human beings.
Evolution of human beings.
Yeah, and so this is...
That's what we do.
Yeah, that happens to you too, I'm sure.
Yes, of course.
Right?
So my question was, we as humans cannot live without breathing, right?
We need to be able to breathe 24-7, otherwise we die pretty quickly.
And we cannot breathe underwater, right?
Yet, the earth that we're living in right now, most of it is water, right?
More of it is...
70%, is that true?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So, right?
If it's mostly, the majority of it is water,
why have we not evolved into species that can breathe in water?
That was the question that I was thinking about in bed yesterday.
I'm like, how have we not evolved?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
When 70% of the land is water, that's so dangerous.
That is so dangerous.
We could die if we're in that 70% for too long.
Yeah, right.
It's like, 10 minutes and we die.
Yes, yes, true.
Isn't that scary?
70% of what we're living in, if we're in it, we die in 10 minutes.
Yeah.
Why the hell are we not evolved?
Yeah, so I just wanted to hear your thoughts on that.
Yeah, true.
It's really dangerous.
We're having a really big amount of dangerous liquids.
I know, everywhere.
We're surrounded by dangerous liquids.
Yeah, true, true.
We have not evolved into surviving them.
Yeah, well, true.
As far as my knowledge, we evolved from those species.
進化と生存
Fishes, right?
Yeah, like a little...
Ocean, in-water particles.
In-water fuckers.
We diverted from them, right?
Right, they went to fishes.
Then they've got like hands and legs.
Then you need to like, how do you say, like a dorsal?
I don't know.
Both livable species.
Oh, I see, I see, yeah, yeah, yeah.
And then after that...
Like crocodile, right?
Yeah, those things, yeah, yeah.
And then they evolved and became like this.
Okay.
So maybe now it's time to like going back to that.
But because there was a stage where we were able to do both
and then evolved into just land,
maybe there was a merit into not being able to live underwater.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
But what though?
Well, because I guess there were not many species on the land.
So if you like, if we evolve in that way,
you will be like many opportunity to whatever, I guess.
But you don't have to like,
you don't have to leave the fact that you die from being underwater too long.
You can still, you don't have to leave the fact that you can die from it, right?
True, true.
Right?
Yeah.
You know?
True.
If we have like era around here, that would be like much better.
Oh, I know.
And if we have like, you know, what?
Mizukakis.
Yeah.
And then we can swim really fast and...
That'd be great.
Yeah, that'd be lovely.
Great.
I know.
I was just wondering, you know.
Pretty true.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Maybe there are like species like that still.
Like we have dorsalis, right?
Yeah.
So we just went to different ways.
And it just became like this.
Yeah.
I think like we're not the most evolved creatures, I guess.
生物の進化と適応
Yeah.
We're just...
Yeah, they are like, you know, both livable creatures.
And still this they are.
Yeah.
I guess they are the most evolved.
That's true.
Yeah.
I guess you could say that.
Yeah, if they can swim, if they can come to the land.
Yeah.
Or if they can fly, that would be...
Were there any creature that can do all three of them?
I don't think so.
Like some of them dinosaurs?
No.
Fly, swim and land?
Yeah.
None of them got that?
But like bugs?
Some of the bugs can do all three, right?
True.
Can they swim too?
Okay, not underwater.
True, not underwater.
But could be.
Yeah, right.
Yeah.
Or little...
For example, like penguins.
They can swim.
They can swim.
They cannot fly though.
But they were close.
They're close to flying.
Really close to that.
Right.
That's true.
Yeah.
Hmm.
They're like a certain fish that can go up and then just kind of fly a little bit.
Yeah, right.
But it's not livable.
They can survive on land though, right?
For their feet.
Yeah.
Right, so I was wondering.
Yeah, if they exist, like somebody can fly, swim, livable on earth or on land.
Yeah.
That would be the strongest.
Yeah, that would be.
The most evolved creature.
And apart from that, my question was like, what the hell is up with pandas?
Pandas?
Yeah, have you seen videos of pandas being stupid as fuck?
Yeah.
Well, how the hell have they survived?
This long?
Aren't they like one of the very old creatures?
Are they?
Maybe.
I don't know.
That's what I thought.
人間の進化と水の関係
Yeah.
But like, well, they've survived for a generation then.
True.
I don't know how they were able to survive with their intelligence level being so low.
Are they that stupid?
Well, I mean, it seems pretty stupid to me.
I don't know.
I don't.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Right, right.
Have you seen the videos of pandas like just randomly falling off the tree?
Oh, yes.
Sitting down, eating bamboo, and they just, they lose balance and just, how are they still alive?
Yeah.
True.
It's too not wild.
I know.
I know.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So yeah, just wondering.
Yeah.
Right.
All right.
Thanks for listening, guys.
Thank you.
Bye-bye.
