"Judgment call."
What a call to make. In my life, had I ever made a decision harder than choosing between a French dip and a Reuben? How could I ever learn to make, and live with, such judgment calls? I still had a lot of practical medicine to learn, but would knowledge alone be enough, with life and death hanging in the balance? Surely intelligence wasn't enough; moral clarity was needed as well.
Somehow, I had to believe, I would gain not only knowledge but wisdom, too. After all, when I had walked into the hospital just one day before, birth and death had been merely abstract concepts. Now I had seen them both up close. Maybe Beckett's Pozzo is right. Maybe life is merely an "instant," too brief to consider. But my focus would have to be on my imminent role, intimately involved with the when and how of death- the grave digger with the forceps.

📘わたしが去年医学英語検定に向けて学び、
今年から読書を習慣目標に、洋書も読み出すようになりました。
そして、この本では、以前学んだ単語にもたくさん出会えたこと、
医療現場と患者家族の苦悩もイメージができたこと、
それが完読につながりました。

この本を音読２回目で、
録音、発信を挑戦中です。




📘私が音読の配信を始めるきっかけは
#1の放送でお話しています。

継続して、緊張感は少しもちつつ、
配信のプレッシャー感じながら
英語に毎日触れるためです。

1人言のように話しています。
ふと我に返り、録音していることを
思い出し、等身大の私です。

事前準備なく衝動的に発信開始し、
#3の音読から、
事前に意味と単語調べるようにしました。

わたしにとったら、
少し継続のハードル上がったかもしれませんが、いい学びです📝

さぁ、いつまで、継続できるか

はい、みなさんこんにちは。

今日は7月22日、23時半に収録しています。

今から音読します。

今、東京から帰ってきました。

いや、もうちょっと前に帰ってたんですけども、

今、自分の時間が取れたので、ぎりぎりに音読をします。

今日朝に実はしようと思ったら、スタイフの調子が悪かったので、

結局は早朝にはできず、今帰ってきて、一人時間に音読をします。

もう本当に最高な2日間でした。

やっぱりフレッシュって大事ですね。

また来週からの活力になるかなと思っています。

今日は、66ページ読みます。

何の続きだったかと言ったら、多分、文弁の実習の場面からですかね。

途中で、昨日読んだところをちょっと忘れちゃいましたけど。

とりあえず音読していきます。

66ページ、63回目の音読になります。
