Welcome to Kevin's English Room Podcast. Hello guys. All right. This one.
Okay.
Thank you.
Mid-thirties?
Yeah.
I've never heard of it.
Yeah, maybe. For example, we did a big satsuei.
Recently?
Yeah, the singing one.
Yes.
And I wanted to make some friends at the place, you know?
But they were like, no, they didn't open for those.
So I wasn't like, I was like, oh, no.
How do you do that?
In your mind, how were you planning to carry out a friendship in that environment?
Because for me, there was zero percentage.
Maybe one or two, three percent of like possibility.
How were you planning to make new friends on that scene?
I mean, after the satsuei, maybe we'll eat together or like drink together.
That was my plan.
I see.
It was really, really like heavy rain day.
And everybody was like, you know, go somewhere and just took taxis or things like that.
Yeah.
And I, yeah, so, yeah.
There were one or two or three or four persons that we heavily communicated with, right?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Did you try drinking with them or not successful?
Well, the reason why was I was in the room talking with Kake-chan and Tsuji-san and things about,
and like music things a little bit.
And then they left already.
I see.
Kind of, yeah.
They said to me like, ah, domo arigatou gozaimashita.
And then just they left.
So kind of, oh, OK, well, yeah.
And yeah.
You know, there are one friend in the team.
Your friend, right?
My high school friend was in the team.
Yeah.
So we talked about that.
And then we said like, oh, mata gohan ikou.
But that's, we are already friends.
Yeah.
So it's like, yeah, it was good, but, you know, I wanted some new friends.
Oh, it was not the vibe?
Well, kind of I was rather like hesitated, I'd say.
I see.
Yeah.
Maybe they just want to go home.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
The satsui was oshita.
Yeah.
And they were like really, really busy people.
And I was kind of hesitant to push hard.
I see.
I see.
But on my way returning, I was like, yeah, I should.
So maybe if you didn't have that hesitation, you would have went like, hey, you want to
go out drinking?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Really?
In addition, I have my friend in a team.
So it's natural that we go drink together, right?
First of all.
That's natural.
And just some...
Maybe invite one or two?
Yeah, I think so.
Wait, are you talking about, so there were several companies.
Yeah.
Your friend, which company was that person in?
That was, he was in advertisement.
The advertisement?
Okay.
Got it.
There were two advertisers, right?
Yeah.
In one of them.
Yeah.
Got it.
And you were planning to, according to your plan.
Yeah.
Are you going to hustle the same agency people?
Or are you talking about some completely different companies?
Yeah, I do.
That would be lovely.
Really?
Well, because they, from my point of view, they were kind of already know each other
kind of.
Like a team.
Yeah, kind of.
They like to create a community, I guess.
Sure.
So hopefully that, you know, the guy, the top guy of the one.
The tall guy?
Long hair?
Not that one.
That guy.
Yes.
That guy.
Yes, I know.
Yeah.
I would love to talk with him.
He must be, you know, have so many experiences, like so many things that I don't know.
So that's why you want to be friends?
Because he has so many knowledge and experience that you don't have?
Yeah.
He works.
I see.
And what's the life of him?
I see.
Yeah, yeah.
We talked while maybe you were singing or like Kage-chan was singing.
I talked with that guy.
And he said like he's just returned from France.
Oh.
And then he's going to go to the UK or somewhere like two, three days after the shooting day.
Really?
Okay.
And he does like an advertisement show every year at Cannes.
Oh, okay.
And then, yeah.
Wow.
Like sounded so different.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So, yeah.
That sounds interesting.
Wow.
Yeah.
That's so different from how I think.
Yeah, I mean, wow, that is so different.
Yeah, but how do you see that?
I don't know.
I just that doesn't that energy does not flow into me.
Okay.
At all.
Okay.
Yeah.
It's not.
Yeah.
I was just curious and just want to know what he's like, like experiencing in the story.
So, wow.
Yeah.
But, you know, I was just hesitated.
Yeah.
Because I knew like they were like big guys in it.
Yeah.
What about joining a lot of the kaishoku that Tsuji-san has?
Yeah.
True.
That's what basically Tsuji-san is doing, right?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
True.
Does that, I mean, is that a good idea for you?
Or is that, is there another angle that I'm not seeing?
Well, yeah, that's a good idea.
Uh-huh.
That's a good idea.
Good idea?
Because you can eat delicious food at the same time.
True.
You probably don't have to pay.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But maybe for Tsuji-san, I don't know.
I don't know if it's better for him or not.
Okay.
If he's going to speak about, talk about, you know, like business things.
True.
He has to care about both sides.
Maybe.
True.
It might be difficult for him, probably.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But I would, yeah, sounds interesting to me.
Nothing at all to you?
No, nothing at all.
Nothing?
That does not interest me at all.
Yeah.
But it is true.
It's the same with you that I do want to make new friends.
Yeah.
I've wanted to make new friends ever since.
Ever since?
Ever since.
I've always wanted to make new friends.
Yeah.
I'm always open to make new friends.
It's just, it is hard though.
It is hard.
It is hard.
Yeah.
It is.
I know that.
But I do want to make friends.
Yeah.
We did badminton together.
Yeah.
Right.
Football.
We all just know each other.
Yeah.
There's not many new, but.
Right.
Do you, yeah.
What?
But you don't like, like being in like party or things like that.
Oh, I don't like being in parties.
Yeah.
So ideally like two, three people.
Ideally two.
Two.
Just me and the other guy.
That guy.
That's it.
That's my ideal ideal.
I'm really good with one-on-one.
Yeah.
I see.
So for example, like if I have somebody that I want to introduce you and the other side
too, I just set a dinner or something like that.
And then just without me, just both you and that guy is better?
Or should I be that?
And just left for like Ichijikai and just Nijikai go with just two of you.
Something's not right.
Okay.
Something's a little bit off in that situation for me.
Oh, I see.
I see.
Yeah.
What's the point?
I've not articulated it, but maybe it's because I'm forced into it.
It's like a setup, right?
Yeah.
Of like, hey, this dinner is for us to be friends.
That setup is kind of like, it's a little awkward.
Oh, I see.
I guess that's why it feels kind of weird.
I see.
It's okay, actually.
You guys will not be a friend.
And then just one time dinner and just, well, yeah.
But you don't like that.
That's true.
Not everybody can be friends.
Yeah.
I don't know.
But I don't know why, but that doesn't feel very appealing to me.
I see.
I see.
I see.
Yeah.
I don't know why.
You want something like more natural, I'd say.
I don't think so.
You don't think so.
I don't think that's the only, I don't think I told you the proper reason why that didn't feel natural.
Okay.
Yeah.
Not that I can.
I haven't been able to detect that yet.
If only I could.
Yeah.
So how?
Maybe the other thing is.
I've never been introduced to a friend before.
I've never had anyone introduce me for a friend.
I had once or twice as a girlfriend.
I'll show you.
But not friends.
And I don't know how that works.
I see.
Maybe that's why it's making me uncomfortable a little bit.
True.
And if it's like 1v1, that makes it more awkward.
If you have like 10, it's more easy for both of you not to be friends.
Like both of you is just one of the parties.
Right.
Yeah.
Right.
The moment you know that, oh, he's probably not going to be your friend, you can just do something else.
Yeah.
That's true.
That's true.
How did you make friends in your past life?
Like at high school?
Really naturally, you know, just naturally.
I didn't really have a plan.
I didn't really have a method that I followed.
It just came naturally.
Yeah.
True.
Or like, you know, hey, let's hang out.
That's it.
But I was already attracted to that person.
I was already interested in that person.
True.
I guess that's a difficult one.
You know our new editing staff?
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, there was a hint of me of like, maybe he could be a new friend of mine.
But it turns out the dynamic that we're having is kind of a barrier.
Yeah.
You know.
True.
We're paying him to be involved in a project.
I see.
Yeah.
It's a barrier.
Yeah.
I see.
Well, I've been with him for kind of a long time.
Yeah.
You were working on projects with him.
Yeah.
Like, without money.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So to me, well, for him, it's easier to be friends with me, I guess.
Yeah.
But I understand that.
It's like, it's more like you have like kind of employee boss situation, I'd say.
Right.
No.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Hmm.
Yeah.
What about joining some like a, like a, I don't know.
Like a sports club?
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's definitely part of, part of plan.
If I were to like really go full on and making friends.
Yeah.
That's one of the thing that on my list.
Yeah.
Like join a, like a, like an activity.
Yeah.
Like a circle.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Circle.
Yeah.
That's, that's definitely a choice.
Yeah.
I feel like I can make friends naturally that way.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You know.
I think that's best.
That's one of them.
For you, I guess.
Or maybe in like a school or something.
Yeah.
Exactly.
That has like classroom.
Sure.
Sure.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
Absolutely.
Classmates, by the way.
Classmates are something special.
I get it.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I love that concept.
It's something special.
That you have to meet every day.
Right.
Right.
Even if you'd like them or not.
It's kind of.
You don't get to have those people.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Or like dorios, right?
Doki.
Right.
True.
True.
Yeah.
It is difficult.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It is hard.
Or doing Baito maybe.
Baito is great.
Have you made any friends through Baito?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Really?
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's good.
I didn't do much of Baito, so I don't know how it works.
But.
Right.
Right.
Right.
Yeah.
But yeah, Baito is nice.
But it might be difficult because I'm much older.
Oh.
Right.
Most of the Baitos are, you know, daigakusei.
Right.
So it might be difficult.
Too young.
Maybe.
Too much of a different perspective.
I see.
So.
That might not work out.
Maybe.
But yeah.
Yeah.
It is difficult.
Yeah.
So.
That's that.
Alright.
Thanks for listening guys.
Thank you.
Bye bye.
