Welcome to Kevin's English Room Podcast.
Hello.
Hey, guys.
All right.
Okay, this is from アンさん。
アンさん。
Thank you.
Alrighty, thank you.
アテンション、ケビン・サン・ヤマちゃん。
毎日楽しく聞かせてもらっています。
少し悩んでいることがあり、お二人の意見・アドバイスをぜひ知りたいです。
Were we supposed to say something about the attention?
We kind of just let it go.
No one talked about it.
Neither of us was like, wow.
Was that the vibe that she was looking for?
I don't know.
Was that okay?
What would be your natural reaction to this attention at the very beginning?
At the very beginning?
Yeah, I mean, I would just continue listening.
Okay.
Yeah.
Is that natural?
Yeah, I mean, it's usually when there's like a 注意書き.
That's when you would say attention.
Like, attention all customers!
There's a sales on ILC!みたいな。
It's an instruction for continuing to listen.
Okay, okay.
You don't have to, like, do anything.
I wouldn't really, yeah.
You're not really obligated to give a feedback reaction.
So...
Okay.
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
Okay.
I get that, too, sometimes.
Like, I was like, even for a day, like one day,
I was like, oh, I don't know what to do today.
Like, there are some things that I have on my bucket list,
but, like, didn't have quite the energy to, like, execute that.
03:01
So, like, I ended up just not doing anything.
And that guilt I get, that's real.
I get that.
Yeah.
But I tried not to, like, I tried to accept myself for that.
Like, well, that happens sometimes, Kevin.
Like, it's don't judge yourself so much.
Like, don't blame yourself so much.
It's okay, is what I say.
So, like, if it was, like, two months, I would probably want to do something,
and I would probably get that similar feeling of guilt.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
For two months.
Yeah, I don't know what to do.
What would you do?
How would you feel?
Two months.
Yeah.
So, maybe I first think that maybe this is something I,
something is necessary for me.
Okay.
Like, as in whole life.
Yeah.
Like a one month of break.
Right.
It meant something.
Yeah.
Right?
Yeah.
But if it's two months, then I think, so I guess first few weeks,
like one or two weeks, will be I can appreciate that, like.
Freedom.
Freedom.
Yeah.
Like, maybe, yeah, I just watch some, you know, football games whole time.
Yeah.
And then sleep and something like that.
Right.
But I think after one week, two weeks, then I kind of feel,
I think I would feel that I want to do something.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So, what things to do would be go to the gym.
Okay.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
Walking outside.
Mm-hmm.
Drink good coffee.
Okay.
Writing things down in my mind.
Okay.
Those.
Do you care about productivity?
First, no.
Uh-huh.
But it's like I have, like, freedom period.
Mm-hmm.
And then, like, trying to search what I wanted to do period.
Mm-hmm.
And then once it decided, like, start, like, you know,
think about, like, for activities and, like, efficiency and everything.
I see.
Yeah.
So, yeah.
How about, like, outcome?
Because, like, gym or writing stuff, there's outcome, right?
But, like, drinking coffee, not really much of an outcome, though, right?
It's just enjoyment of at that time.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
For me, that's two completely different.
Even if I drink coffee, I would probably be left with a feeling of guilt.
It's, like, more like starting coffee, like good coffee.
I see.
Trying new bees, new countries.
Get more knowledge of coffee.
Yeah, kind of experiencing.
Right, so you're gaining something.
There's output to it.
Yeah, it's like going to the gym.
It's like getting knowledge at the same time.
I see.
But, you know, half is, like, just when I enjoy the taste.
Right.
But at the same time, kind of.
Right, right.
New things, too.
Right.
Yeah.
06:02
Yeah, two months.
Two months?
I mean, I would go for a baito.
Baito?
Yeah.
Tanpatsu baito.
Tanpatsu baito.
I would go for that.
What do you want to do as a tanpatsu baito?
So for tanpatsu baito, there's not much options available, right?
Usually, places are hiring to hire you for at least half a year, right?
So I do want a list of what you can do for tanpatsu.
But maybe, like, I would do event stuff.
Tourokusei event stuff.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
That or I might do live streaming by my own.
That's nice.
Yeah.
That's fun.
Yeah.
Create videos to post on the Internet, see if it will go viral.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Something like that.
Yeah.
Nice, nice.
Yeah.
Right.
True.
It's difficult to think about, like, nothing in our mind to do.
Yeah, when there's no restrictions, right?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Two months you could master something, like you could master cooking.
Yeah.
Right?
Or you could gain some sort of skill that would be useful.
Right.
You could master kaji, right?
You could master, like, you could study.
You could study, like, I don't know, anything, right?
Anything you're interested in.
Right.
True.
Or simply, like, I don't know about, like, watch all the animes.
Sure, sure.
Yeah.
Could be something in the future.
Could be.
Could be.
So, during the Nematsu Nenshi, so there was several days where I was like,
oh, my God, what am I going to do?
I studied the U.S. government.
The U.S. government.
Some of the U.S. government.
Wow.
Yeah.
Like, yeah, what's the Senate?
What's the Congress?
Yeah, yeah.
What's the House of Representatives?
What is, yeah.
Oh, that's nice.
Yeah.
It was similar to the Japanese system.
Oh, really?
Yeah, it was very similar.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, so.
I mean, I think it's useful.
Yeah.
When I look at, now when I look at the news, I sort of understand more of, like,
what they're talking about.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
In English I can understand, too, so.
Yeah, that's nice.
Yeah.
True.
Right.
So, there you go.
Yeah, but, like, but if you spend two months sleeping or whatever,
it's just what it was, so.
Right.
You shouldn't feel so guilty about that as well.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
09:00
Right?
You, who gets to do that, right?
Yeah.
Right?
That's so rare.
Yeah.
No one can do that, so.
Yeah.
You should enjoy it.
Yeah.
All right.
Thanks for listening, guys.
Thank you.
Bye-bye.
