Welcome to Kevin's English Room Podcast.
Hey guys, how are you doing?
All right.
All right.
Okay, this one.
All right.
So this is from...
Sorry, it's E-R-I-F, Sam?
E-R-I-F.
E-U-R-I-F.
E-R-I-F.
E-R-I-F.
E-R-I-F.
Yeah.
Sam, thank you.
Hello, Kevin and Yama-chan.
Thank you for your fun videos and podcasts.
I am a first year high school student.
I started watching K.E.R. a few months ago.
When I was a high school student, I admired Yama-chan so much for studying in France.
So I decided to study in Spain for 3 months next month.
Wow.
I touched Spanish a little bit about 2 years ago, but I can hardly speak it.
And I can't even go to a normal high school.
So I decided to go to a private high school.
Wow.
I thought it would be better to go to a university at least.
So I tried to persuade the teacher and my parents.
And I convinced them in 2 months.
I see.
By the way, I can speak English normally.
So if I have an emergency, I can use English.
I see.
So I started studying in apps, books, websites, and podcasts.
I have been speaking Spanish online for a few weeks now.
I see.
But I can't take time to study Spanish in the middle of the final exam.
So I suddenly became anxious.
I see.
I realized that it is difficult to have a conversation in the first place.
And I am far away from my parents.
So I realized that it is very scary.
But I didn't tell anyone about it until now.
I see.
But now I have decided to go to a private high school.
So I have to go.
I would like to ask for your advice to the students of Chigaido High School in France and Japan.
It's been a long time, but thank you for reading it.
It's getting cold, so I hope you can take care of yourself.
I will continue to support you.
All right.
I'm going to have a live stream with PS Yama-chan.
Oh, thank you.
The one that was already...
Yeah.
In December.
Yeah, okay, yeah.
Thank you.
Okay.
I mean, I can kind of feel the energy that like...
If you don't go, you're going to regret it.
Yeah, of course.
Like, you're going to regret it, so go.
Yeah.
Right?
Like, I feel like you're the kind of person that would kind of like...
Very has energy, curiosity, you know, the drive, the pursuit of like...
Yeah, discovering new things and all that stuff.
Right.
So like, if you don't go, because you're scared of this one moment, you're going to regret it.
Yeah, yeah.
So go.
Yeah, you should go.
Yeah.
Right.
That's a cut from you.
Yeah, that's a cut from me.
Were you like scared when you decided to go to Japan?
03:00
No.
I was rather more excited.
More excited.
Yeah.
Well, I mean, did I have a little bit of like nervousness?
Yeah, I did.
Yeah.
Of course, like new community.
Yeah, of course.
You're a teenager.
Yeah.
All these new kids, right?
Yeah.
So...
New classes.
New class.
New people.
I was, yeah, I was nervous, but, you know, I was more excited to be in the Japanese community.
Yeah, I was excited on that.
That's nice.
Yeah.
More than anything else.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's good.
Were you nervous?
You were, right?
Of course you were nervous.
I mean, you gotta be nervous going to France.
Right.
Right.
For a year without anybody.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So don't worry, everybody become nervous.
Yeah, everybody does, right?
So it's natural, so don't worry about that.
Yeah.
And so...
So this message says that...
スペイン語が喋れないのがちょっと不安になっている。
And...
But don't worry about that.
Yeah.
So, at least from me...
English, English...
Thank you, thank you.
At least from my perspective?
Yes, that's what I want to...
So, at least for me.
At least for me, or at least from my perspective.
Okay.
At least from my point of view.
Oh, yes.
At least from my experience.
Oh, yes.
Oh, that's...
So, at least from my experience.
Yeah.
Yes.
It's okay, like, not to be fluent in that language.
Oh, right.
It doesn't...
Actually, that doesn't make that much differences if you prepare, like, big preparation.
Ah.
It's actually...
So, when you get in the country and get in the community, that's, you know, that's huge.
Impact is, like, way bigger than what you can do in Japan or, like, in this environment.
So, it's like, it's okay.
Like, you don't have to worry.
You don't have to be, like, prepared.
You don't have to be perfect.
But just important thing is, like, more, like, make yourself perfect than, like, more, like, opening your eyes and ears to the new culture, to new countries, new people.
Yeah.
It's more important.
So...
One English.
Yes, please.
Remember, I was, like, you should remember more of, like, the SAT phrases and all, like, the useful phrases.
Like, one phrase you could use is, like, whether if.
Whether if, okay.
Yeah, like, whether if you fully, you fully mastered the language or not isn't going to determine whether if you're going to be nervous or not,みたいな。
06:09
Ah.
That's one thing you can say.
Whether if.
Ah.
Yeah.
確かに。
Whether if, yeah, yeah.
いいね。
So that, yeah, I'm going to sneak that phrase in.
Yeah, sneak it in.
Yeah.
Okay, thanks.
So, yeah, so don't worry about your preparation.
It's, it's, it's, it's important to prepare and do what you can do as much as possible.
Yeah.
That's very important, but more, what's more important is you see what will be waiting for you in that country.
Ah, right.
What's more important is you seeing what's waiting for you in that country.
Oh, yeah, that's right.
Right.
Yeah, what's more important is what you will see.
That's good too, yeah.
In that country.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, sure.
Right, right, right, right, right.
So, like, don't try to become perfect before you leave this country.
Ah, that's good advice.
Yeah.
That's really good advice.
Yeah.
Right.
It's kind of, we'll not be able to be perfect forever, so.
Right, that's true.
Open your heart and like eyes and ears is more important.
Yeah.
Yeah.
After that, you never know.
You never know.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Wow.
Yeah.
That's a good one.
Yeah.
All right.
Thanks for listening, guys.
Thank you.
Bye-bye.
