Welcome to Kevin's English Room Podcast.
Hello.
Hey guys.
This is from 英語から逃げてきた男。
All right.
いつも楽しい配信を聞かせております。
Thank you.
Yeah, that's a mistake as a phrase.
What was it?
いつも楽しい配信を聞かせております。
Right. That's not correct Japanese.
No.
That's one mistake.
All right.
Thank you.
So the problem was that listening...
He wants to complete the listening, right?
Yes.
And the problem was?
He always...
Naturally, he just translates English intoJapanese when he listens to those English phrases.
And he can't...
It's always fast.
He's always slower than the actual speaker.
I see.
He can't catch up with the...
Got it.
Yeah.
What do you think, man?
It's...
My instinct is vocabulary.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
Vocabulary, like when you listen to a word, likeyou instantly know that in Japanese.
Then it makes it so much faster.
I see.
That's one help.
I see, I see.
Yeah.
That's one help, yeah.
Okay.
That's one tip, I guess.
Amount.
It's simple amount, I guess.
Yeah.
It's just a repetition.
You just listen to English again and again andagain.
Okay.
03:00
So that you can...
It's like...
So for example, I don't translate English intoJapanese anymore.
It's like if I do that, me too, I won't catch theproper speed, I think.
Okay.
So...
One day, you feel like you're in the ocean ofEnglish.
It's like you're in it, kind of.
Okay.
You're listening to it in English, you'reunderstanding it in English.
Yes.
You didn't have to go through Japanese.
Right.
It's English.
You hear English and you speak English.
You hear English, you understand it in English, and you think in English, kind of, and you speakin English.
There's no Japanese translation in that circle.
Nice.
Yeah, to me, it's just a repetition.
Do you think it's better...
Let's say, for example, there's a video, right?
Do you think it's better to continuously listen toit until you understand all of it?
You mean the same video?
Yes.
Or move on to the next one.
Just keep on listening to more and more differentEnglish contents.
To me, the second one.
More and more patterns?
It's about preference, yes.
Okay.
Or maybe understand 60%.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Maybe repeat until 60%, and then move on until60%, move on.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I don't know about 60%, maybe 70%, I don't knowabout that, but like...
Right, right, right.
That's nice, I think.
Or you limit the amount of videos.
If you go to the internet and go on YouTube andyou're just strolling, like, I don't know, millions of different videos,
it's difficult to find the same words, like, samephrases.
Sure.
You know.
And there's different accents as well.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So maybe it's better to limit...
Maybe the channel, you limit the channel.
Yeah, same speaker would be better.
Or you limit the world, the football, or whatever.
Sure, America.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So that you can find the common things coming outand you can...
Yeah, I love that, I love that.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, that makes so much sense.
Yeah.
I understand how people get confused if theylisten to Texas English, and then all of a suddenBritish English, and then Donald Trump.
And then that's like, that is so mixed.
Topics are so random.
It's difficult to...
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Which, by the way, I have a topic about DonaldTrump that I want to talk to in the next episode.
This one was hilarious.
Okay, this week's Donald Trump.
I'll talk to you in the next episode.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Well, that makes so much sense.
I love that.
I think it's like you make a house.
Like, let's say you're a newborn baby and you seta house of English.
06:04
Like, let's say if you're a baby, you listen toyour parents, your sisters and brothers speakingEnglish.
It's like limited, right?
Yeah.
So you make it.
You make that environment.
Don't go to the world.
Sure.
Like, don't go to Poland.
Yeah.
Do not go to like certain like random places.
Sure, sure.
That's so much different culture, like Englishculture.
Right, right, right.
Sure.
I understand.
Makes so much sense.
It's a good tactic there.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Right.
Sure, sure, sure, sure, sure, sure.
Yeah.
Right.
And yeah, I think it's the repetition.
It's just amount.
Okay.
Listening to the English and also like aboutspeaking, too.
Like, now I do speak like this.
But yes, I remember the first episode of thispodcast.
I don't want to listen to that again.
You keep saying that all the time.
I don't really want nobody to listen to thatepisode again.
I mean, honestly, honestly.
I really don't.
The more you say it, the more people are going tolisten to it.
No, I mean, honestly, I delete that episode.
You don't want it out there on the Internet.
Yeah, but I keep it for someone's help, like toencourage people.
I keep it.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, it's just a repetition.
So, yeah.
We've been doing it all week, right?
Every week.
So that's repetition.
I mean, that's a huge thing.
That is a huge thing, right?
That is a huge thing.
It's like strongest.
I mean.
Yeah, people say, you know, when they listen toyour first episode,
and now you've got so much like more fluent.
I mean, it's all thanks to you, honestly.
Oh, no, no.
Honestly, like if I'm like, yeah, I can speakEnglish.
Now, like I do say like that.
But I mean, it's all thanks to you.
All thanks to this.
It makes this podcast show, right?
We're all learning here.
It's great.
It's great.
Yeah, the other day I went to the radio place.
And they were like finding somebody that can hosta show, kind of.
And they were trying to find somebody who speaksEnglish, Japanese,
and some other languages, and who loves music, andthose things.
And I was one of the candidates, I guess.
Okay, okay.
And I went to the studio, and they were like,
Oh, I heard that you speak English.
And can you do a little improvised, like animprovisation,
like a Jigoku, things like that in English.
And I was like, whoa, okay.
Did you make it?
Yeah, I did it.
I did it, but it's, I mean, it's all thanks toyou, man.
Oh, no.
It's just, if I was like, if that was me fiveyears ago,
I couldn't do that.
Okay.
Wow.
If I get that role, it's all credit goes to this, and you.
09:00
Yeah, nice, nice.
We're all going down the journey, going up thehill.
That's great.
That's great.
That's great.
All right.
So, repetition.
Yeah, repetition.
Keep it.
There you go.
All right.
Thanks for listening, guys.
Thank you.
Bye.
