Welcome to Kevin's English Room Podcast!
Hello!
Hey!
Hello!
Oh!
Wow!
I have to speak louder, you know?
Why?
Because, you know, the manager told us that...
Oh yeah, true.
Yeah?
I have to speak louder, you know?
That's what I do right now.
Balanchine, it's okay.
I have to think about the balance between me and you.
I know!
So that's what I do, you know?
Right, the manager, everyone's like...
I think your voice is a little bit...
Yeah.
A little bit, you know, low, Yama-chan.
There are so many comments on YouTube that Yama-chan's voice is really hard to listen,
so that's what I have to shout.
Oh, guys, you made him piss off.
He's pissed now.
He's talking about his voice so much.
No, but...
We have to, you know, we tried to change the setups actually today, but...
Try to use a mixer and audio interface, I don't know what it's called.
Yeah, that's a mixer.
Mixer?
Yeah.
Spent about like 40 minutes trying to figure that out.
It's a little difficult.
Yeah.
But I think, I feel like so far with our style, I feel like instead of using these like gunshot
microphones, it's better to use pinned ones because we tend to go like back or like this.
And like with these microphones, you have to stay like stable, right?
True.
So it's better with the pinned ones.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So...
Sometimes we dance.
We do dance sometimes.
We stand up and run somewhere, you know.
We run around from time to time.
Yeah.
Right?
I agree.
We do have to have it pinned to our body.
True.
Yeah.
This is it.
Yeah.
So...
I'm going to ask the audience if they have any ideas.
Sure, that's a good idea.
All right.
So audience, I have a question for you guys.
I'm trying to figure this out.
So what I'm doing, what we're doing is recording a podcast and video podcast at the same time,
but on a different device.
So on our MacBook, on the MacBook, we're connecting our pinned microphones.
Yeah.
Right?
And this microphone is "Yonkyoku."
Yeah.
What's that?
"Yonkyoku?"
This is "Yonkyoku."
This is "Yonkyoku."
Okay.
Yeah.
What does that mean?
"Yonkyoku" means like, you know how there's like...
So this is "Yonkyoku."
This is "Yonkyoku."
It's got earphone and microphone both.
Okay, okay.
There's "Yonkyoku."
Yeah.
If it's only my earphones, it's "Sankyoku."
03:00
It's "Sankyoku?"
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
I thought it's "Tukyoku."
Yeah, that's the question I had.
Okay.
But I don't know why, but it's called "Yonkyoku."
Okay.
This is "Yonkyoku."
Okay.
And on our video version, what we're doing is we're just...
We have an iPhone, and then we have this rodeo...
It's "Road."
Oh, sorry.
Not "Roadio."
"Road."
I feel like I've been calling it "Roadio" ever since, like since day one.
Yeah.
All right.
So it's "Road."
Sorry that I didn't mention.
Yeah.
"Road" gunshot microphone.
I have no idea what the model is.
Our Amazon staff is lending it to us.
But it's just... this is also "Yonkyoku."
No, "Nani?"
"Yonkyoku."
Cable?
Cable.
Microphone cable, right?
Uh-huh.
This is connected to iPhone.
Yeah.
Right?
The iPhone's connected to a lightning converter, lightning audio, "Tanshi" converter.
Yeah.
And, yeah.
So what we want to do is we want the video to be pinned microphone as well.
So what I want to do is... this is audio input, right?
Audio input and separate this input into two.
Yeah.
Two devices.
One for audio and one for video.
And no, I do not want to rip the audio from the video and then upload it into podcast
because that takes work.
Yeah.
I'm not doing that.
Mm-hmm.
So it has to be, you know, it has to separate.
Yeah.
Right?
And go onto MacBook and go into a video on iPhone.
Yeah.
I don't know how it's done.
I don't know how to do it.
Yeah.
We used the mixer.
That one?
But it didn't work.
But it's weird, actually.
If you use the mixer...
It should work, right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
You got, like, so many several outputs.
So it can, you know, split this audio, original one, into several outputs.
The problem with the mixer was, if you used it, it worked on the PC.
We got it to recognize... the PC recognized the mixer and then the audio got in.
However, my iPhone didn't recognize the mixer, right?
So that was...
I don't know.
I don't know what's going on here.
Yeah.
And another solution I thought of was connect this pin microphone to a laptop.
Laptop and connect the laptop and the iPhone with, like, a cable.
Yeah.
With a type C cable or something like that, right?
And then have the iPhone recognize the PC as an external microphone.
06:02
Yeah.
Right?
Yeah.
So we connect the PC and the PC is going to record the audio only and then our PC is going
to pass through it and then go to the video.
I tried to download some sort of, like, a virtual digital mixer inside the MacBook,
but it didn't work.
I was not able to get the iPhone to recognize an external microphone as PC.
So, do you have any ideas on how to get this to work?
Like when splitter...
Right.
Splitter.
From this splitter.
Into two lines.
Yeah.
That can be one.
True.
It's true.
Yeah.
Right.
But don't forget that this is "Yonkyoku".
Okay.
There were some splitters out there, but it was only "Sankyoku".
Okay.
So, if we buy a converter from "Sankyoku" to "Yonkyoku", then that might work.
I haven't tried that yet.
That's one solution that might work, but I haven't tried it.
Because we're going to need a lot of cables.
Like a lot of adapters.
And I also found a "Yonkyoku" splitter, but it said that if you connect multiple devices
with microphone and earphones, then all the microphone features are going to be turned
off.
That's what it said on the package.
So it's probably not going to work.
Okay.
So, yeah.
Yeah.
True.
I know.
So we do this.
That's why we're... yeah.
That's why we're... right.
We ended up with this.
Yeah.
I mean, I feel like the pin microphone sounds great.
Yeah.
You know, our voices, we both sound really close.
Yep.
Yeah.
Yep.
You know?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So, any suggestions?
Or like use not this gun microphone, but more like shoe-on microphone so that...
Yeah.
It can, you know, catch both of our voices.
I hear the problem with that is I'm always like this.
You're always like this.
Yeah.
Now it's going to start getting into, "Oh, Yohjo's voice is so low and Kevin is so loud."
And that's...
I feel like that's going to happen.
That's true.
Yeah.
Or like we both use hand microphone.
What do you think about that?
Always hand microphone.
Never thought of that.
Yeah.
So that we can dance and we can run.
Feel like an artist, you know?
Yeah.
Like...
09:00
Feel like a BTS member?
Yeah.
Maybe like this.
How about like a headstand that goes like here?
You know?
Like over the ear and then off to the mouth?
Oh, that's this one.
Like this one.
Yeah.
This tape here.
Yeah, tape here.
Like literally what the BTS people do.
That's nice.
You know?
That's the one.
That's it.
That's all you got to do.
There we go.
All right.
Thanks for listening, guys.
Thank you.
Bye-bye.
- See you soon guys.
- Thank you.
