So happy New Year's!
Happy New Year's!
Yes!
Happy New Year's!
You know, I uh...
I don't know if this episode...
You know, it's already what?
10th.
Yeah.
January 10th.
And by the time this episode is uploaded online
it's probably gonna be like...
like somewhere around like the 20th of January or something.
I'm not sure.
Yeah.
No wait, maybe earlier than that.
Like 15th?
15th?
Somewhere around there.
But you know...
Pretty late.
[laughter]
Because we pre-recorded the podcast.
Yeah.
And this is the first day.
The first recording day of this year.
Yes.
Absolutely.
Exactly.
So everything before this episode was recorded on December.
Yeah.
Last year.
And now we're in 2022.
Wow!
Right!
2022!
How...
How does it feel?
Sounds like future.
Sounds like the future?
Yeah.
2022?
That sounds like the future.
It actually does.
Wow.
I still do kind of feel like I'm in like 2018.
[laughter]
Yeah, me too actually.
[laughter]
But the sound of like the year 2022 just...
It does kind of sound like the future for me.
To me like 2018 is just real to me.
Yeah, it does.
It feels real.
It feels real.
That feels like the reality.
Yeah, 2015 is like now.
But it's already like five, six years ago or seven years ago.
I wonder if this is like a generational thing.
Like if people who's younger don't feel it or who's more older feels different.
Yeah.
If we ask this to someone who's older than us,
maybe they'll be like, "Oh, you know, it kind of still feels like what?"
Yeah, like 19...
1998 or something.
[laughter]
Wow.
How do you feel?
Well, I mean...
Do you feel something different?
Hmm.
You know, the thing about, you know, New Year's or like birthday...
Yeah.
Is that I actually never kind of...
It's never a thing for me.
Yeah.
For me, it's just every day.
Yeah.
It, you know, it goes on and on.
Yeah.
It really doesn't have like...
It doesn't like reset at all for me.
03:01
Like even if it's my birthday.
Yeah.
Oh, I'm 27 from now.
Yeah.
It's just, you know, it doesn't feel...
The difference.
Yeah.
It's just the same to you.
Yeah, the same as New Year's.
I never have like, "Oh, it's a fresh start."
Yeah.
I'm gonna like...
That doesn't really happen to me.
Okay.
Like do something new.
Right, right, right.
Or like set a goal.
Right.
That doesn't happen.
Okay.
Right.
So you just don't feel anything.
It's the same new day.
The Oshogatsu, right?
The slow life of Oshogatsu is enjoyable.
Slow life.
Sorry.
It's like a holiday.
Yeah.
It's like winter break, summer break.
Okay.
The Oshogatsu break.
Okay.
And you know, just have a very relaxed life.
Yeah.
In a period of time.
So, yeah, I don't...
I'm not feeling the fresh start.
Okay.
As many of you think I do.
Yeah.
But how about you?
Oh, I feel fresh.
Fresh?
I feel fresh.
Uh-huh.
Yeah.
Like to me it's really important like new...
Okay.
New, you know, the beginning of New Year or my birthday or those things.
They're really important to me.
So...
Did you choose your New Year's resolution?
Actually, I haven't.
I've been...
Well, this year is kind of tough to me to decide what is my, you know, kotoshi no mokuyo
things.
Yeah.
Every year I set those things on 2nd January.
Oh, okay.
Every day I do this on 2nd.
It's like a tradition.
Yeah.
But this year I couldn't like...
I, you know, couldn't make...
It was kind of tough to me.
Is it because you're already satisfied with what you have?
Or are you just...
Are you starting to just not be functional?
Slowly going towards the end death of your life or something.
You've given up on your life.
Yeah, that's one reason.
Oh, you've given up.
You know, kind of it's kind of difficult to predict things.
Yeah.
So, you know, there's so many things that I kind of feel can do in this year.
Yeah.
I haven't, you know, able to decide on which I, you know...
Okay.
And like generally every year I make the sentence that will make like words and put everything
into one word.
06:00
Yeah.
And that's difficult to me.
I need to think about everything and make a phrase of this year.
So maybe last several months have been such a huge, you know, plot twist in our life.
Yeah.
That it's so unpredictable and it's just you can't really summarize.
Yeah.
You don't know where it's headed.
Yeah.
So much to the point that you can't choose your goal this year.
Like last year my goal was "sarasu" was my...
I think I told you before that, you know, I was kind of...
I knew what I needed to do in this year beforehand.
Yeah.
But now kind of there's so many things that I need to do which is completely different
from A2 like this way, this way, this way.
So it's kind of difficult to combine everything into one phrase.
So I still kind of try to figure out.
What are some of the things you're trying to challenge this year?
What?
What are some of the things that you have going on, you know, this year that's likely
to happen?
YouTube obviously is actually music for you, right?
Yeah.
Which is big.
Anything else in mind?
Or are those two like the main pillars of your life?
Yeah, those two actually.
But yeah, in that mean, you know, things doesn't that change actually.
It's the same but, you know, the...
Yeah, things doesn't change much.
But for me it's hard to make, you know, put everything into one voice.
Like this year's voice.
You like to put it in that form.
Yeah, yeah.
One word.
I like thinking about those and set one word motto.
So, yeah.
So last year was Sarasu.
Yeah.
Right.
How would you evaluate your performance on Sarasu?
70.
Oh, 70.
Yeah, not bad.
Not bad at all.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, the nature of what we're doing, you know.
Yeah.
Already, Sarasu's a lot about you.
Oh, really?
Yeah.
We go on live streams, talk about our personal shit.
And like, you know, being on YouTube videos.
Well, yeah.
True.
But you know, you can act sometimes, you know.
True.
You can act and say random things.
Yeah.
And tall lies.
True.
You can do everything.
But yeah, the important thing in last year to me was to be like honest and tell the real
09:05
me to real friends, you know.
So I kind of did it well.
But kind of still, you know.
So 70.
70.
Yeah, right.
Understood.
All right.
Well, this year.
Yeah.
There was something in your mind that you want to try this year?
Or like try new?
Well, I guess, you know, I've always been saying this, but with all the resources I
have, whether it's, you know, financially or, you know, the attention that I have on social
media, like I feel like, you know, I'm, I haven't fully utilized the resources to do
what I more truly want to do personally.
For example, building businesses and stuff like that.
Yeah.
So that's an aspect of me that I haven't fully took action towards me starting something
new and stuff like that.
Yeah.
Like whether if it's done publicly, you know, associating it with, you know, the social
media presence of the Covenant's English Room or doing it privately.
Yeah.
Either way, kind of fulfills my desires.
But it is a fact that I haven't been able to, you know, go for it.
And I want to go for it.
I need to, I need to, I feel like I need to do it more, but recently I feel like I've
been saying this so long to the point that maybe it's not what I want to do.
This level of procrastination is like, like it kind of shows a part of yourself.
I feel like, you know, if you're procrastinating, maybe something that you don't want to do
and maybe it's not your passion.
Yeah.
Right now I'm kind of in the next stage of like really looking myself in the mirror and
be like, so, okay, Kevin, it's almost been several months since you said that I want to
start something and you haven't.
What the fuck is wrong with you?
Like if you look at the past, when you were KaiShin, you were like, oh, I want to start
my own thing.
And you didn't hesitate that much, right?
I changed twice, right?
And it's not happening now.
12:00
It's the, what?
The kodoryoku.
I feel like it's just, it's kind of like coming blurry.
So I feel like that's a manifestation or like a, like a sign of something.
I'm kind of reflecting that.
Yeah.
Or maybe you're getting not functioning.
Maybe I'm not functioning anymore.
God damn it.
It was myself.
It was me.
The whole time.
Yeah.
All right.
But hopefully I'll find some sort of a, you know, answer to it.
Yeah.
I'm certain.
Yeah.
Like a more sukiyiri or something.
Yeah.
All right.
Thanks for listening guys.
Thank you.
And happy new year.
Happy new year, yeah.
(Speaking Japanese)
Bye.
