Welcome to Kevin's English Room Podcast.
Hello. Hello, hello.
Hey.
This one?
This is from Takepi-san.
Okay.
Kevin-san, Yama-chan,

I can't find a suitable one.
Yeah.
So I found an audio, but this is like this YouTuber is reading it out loud, not the actual

shiken no mondai.
Okay.
Then it will be very difficult if she does the full rolls.
Right.
Like it would be even harder to tell.
I guess you can't use it.
Yeah.
Yeah.
The real audio.
Yeah.
Questions number 18 to 21.
We went to Midori Mountain Amusement Park yesterday.
To start off, we purchased some limited edition souvenirs and put them into lockers.
Then we dashed to the recently reopened roller coaster, but the line was too long, so we
decided to eat lunch instead.
Well, this is one person, right?
We saw a parade marching by.
She said there were two people.
Two people.
For my New Year's resolution, I've decided to start doing something healthy.
Do you have any good suggestions, Amy?
Good for you, Chris.
It's important to find something that you won't give up easily.
I also want to do something like walking, for instance.
Chris, why don't we walk in the morning together?
That sounds good.
Haruki, do you want to join us?
Sorry.
I started running.
Oh, that's three.
Linda, you exercise a lot, don't you?
Oh, fourth.
Yeah.
Recently, I've been trying super short workouts.
One workout takes only 10 minutes.
10 minutes?
Linda, is that enough?
I need at least an hour to feel satisfied.
Yes.
Super short.
Wait, let's listen to that again.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Let's listen to it again and see how that conversation goes.
She was Linda.
Linda?
Yeah.
The first lady.
First lady was Linda?
I guess so.
So it's three, maybe.
Yeah.
It's possible that's the third.
Or maybe fourth will be coming.
Yeah, maybe.
Maybe.
Maybe.
Maybe.
Maybe.
Maybe.
Hold on, this should come up.
Good for you, Chris.
Good for Amy.

walking for instance. Chris, why don't we walk in the morning together? That sounds
good. Haruki, do you want to join us? Sorry, I started running last year. It's
tough but refreshing. Linda, you exercise a lot, don't you? Yeah, recently I've been
trying super short workouts. One workout takes only 10 minutes. 10 minutes? Linda,
is that enough? I need at least an hour to feel satisfied. Yes, super short
06:02
workouts are really efficient. You just need to push yourself extremely hard for
a short time. Why don't you try them too, Chris? Yeah, now that I think about it,
walking takes too long. But I could easily spare 10 minutes for a workout.
That way, I'm definitely not going to quit. Amy, would you like to try the super
short workouts too? It sounds interesting, but I prefer more moderate exercise. So
I'm going to start walking to the station every day. It's only about 30 minutes,
which is fine for me. Okay, so Linda, can we work out together? What the fuck, this is so
long. How about this Saturday? It'll be fun. Oh, great. Oh, shit. This is a lot of people.
Wow. Hell yeah. Wow. Okay, I guess that's... And you get lost in like who's who. I get it. I mean,
I get it. I get it. Like, if I'm not super focused, I would probably get lost. Yeah,
that's true. Who was the one that did not like the long exercises? That's true. Yeah.
Um, can we play the... The mondai? The mondai section? Yeah. Because I feel like there's some
conditions on it.
Oh, it's paper. It's written on the paper. It's not going to be spoken out loud. It's...
Your mondai is written on the paper. So you got to read it. So it's not going to be in this audio.
Yeah. Can we play that like this? Like that introduction? Oh, got it. Introduction to the
mondai bun ne. Yeah.
You got two questions. Two questions? Yeah.
So you know the situation. Got it. Beforehand. And you know the questions beforehand. You're
going to know... You're going to get to know who's going to be there. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh,
I got it. Oh. Yeah. Still though, it's still a lot to process. True. Yeah. It's so difficult.
Yeah, it is. It's... Even though we like... Like the Haruki-san speaks with the Japanese accent.
Yeah. And to people relatively speaking... More Western. Like an American accent. American,
yeah. And one lady... I forget the name. She speaks a little bit like a British side accent.
Yeah. So we can kind of tell who's who by those accents. But. But. But still.
09:07
Still. That's I guess very high. Yeah. I really understand. It's easily... I would be easily
get lost in the conversation. Like I remember doing this kyotsu testo several years ago,
like as a kikaku, YouTube kikaku, right? With the three of us. And like I remember at that time,
and I still got the same like kansou of like, is this really the best method of like
catching like the student's ability of English speaking? Because it's like, I feel like it's more
of a different like skill that I need than just a simple English understanding ability. It's more
like, can I understand complex conversations and like complex dialogues? Yeah. I feel like it's
more of a different like, you know, skill than just simply do I know the language, you know?
True. It's different from like one-on-one conversation. Yeah. But it's more. Yeah. Yeah.
True. I mean, I had a difficult time like trying to understand like every one of their like,
like stances. Yeah. Because there's four people, right? Right. That's a lot. So.
Wow. It's always easier if you, if somebody's speaking to you directly. I remember when I went
to France, I understand what people said to me, but once they start conversation, I'd be like lost.
Yeah. So. Yeah. Yeah. This must be very, really difficult and knees high. Right. It's some kind
of difficult, different skills. Yeah. Like, I guess you have to, the only thing I guess you can do
is like, like raise your English skills so that you can use your brain power to,
to follow the conversation without thinking about what the English means, you know? Like,
because if you start thinking about what it actually means word by word, like you're going
to get lost in who's who. Yeah. So it's like, that's so difficult. Yeah. So difficult. True.
Yeah. You gotta have some sort of like a strategy to like, sort of like deal with these problems,
you know? Yeah. So what I found from the, this question, I think like two strategies. Yeah. Like
one is, I'm not sure if applies to all of those, but every time she, or they had a conversation
and do some questions to different guys. Yeah. And then they always say, what do you think about
this? Yeah. So that's the key. They would say the name. Yeah. Oh, this goes to Haruki. This
goes to Amy. So that's, that's how you need to focus on the names. Right. So that you can see
the ball. Right. On who. Yeah. That's I guess one. And also you can read this, um, the situation and
12:05
question beforehand. Right. So you have to like read quickly the situation and got it. Yeah. And
then if you know the question first, then you can easily like, you don't have to follow every single
word. Yeah. You just have to remember what Amy's going to do next. Yeah. And yeah. Right. What
does he not like about the exercise? Yeah. So strategy. Yeah. So strategy. Yeah. All right.
That's difficult. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Thanks for listening guys. Bye-bye.
