You know, I have so much respect for the chugakusei, the teachers in general, but especially
the chugakusei teachers.
Okay, why?
Because that's where, that's when the chug, that's when the students are at most dis-,
like uninterested in education, the teachers, the school.
Disrespectful.
Disrespectfully uninterested.
Right?
So, like, I respect the teachers that have to face them.

You know, that, it's just, it's, it must be so difficult.
Like, I, if I had to do that, I would run away.
I would be like, I don't know how to get these kids' attention.

I probably would just give up.

Because it's so difficult.

Like, I, I feel like inherently middle schoolers hate teachers.

Just being a teacher would be like a demerit if you're trying to build a relationship with
them.

How, how would you deal with the situation?
Like, if you had to, you know, get the middle schoolers' attention, what strategies would
you, with your knowledge right now, what would you do?
See, I've never, uh, teached, well, I've never stand in the classroom in front of all the,
you know, stupid, stupid students.

Uh, but only thing I can do is just try to make, um, them laugh, make it funny so that,
you know, at least try to make the class interesting enough for those students as a, you know,
first step.
That's what I am feeling.

Um, see, if it was like a university or college teacher, you have to provide some professional,
deep knowledge as an academic thing, but it's junior high.
So only like the beginning, like the entry light things are kind of enough.
I, that's what I feel.
So you don't have to be like a professional knowledge provider, but, um, make it funny.

Make English sounds fun is I guess all I can do for the students.
I feel I don't have to provide those deep knowledge.

I want to just, you know, provide some light, fun, laugh thing to keep them, you know, interested in.

Um, so maybe, um, try to take an example of famous singers or like famous celebrities in US or UK or like maybe a Japanese player, a sport player playing abroad or, you know, those topics.

Um, one of my, um, one of my Koten teacher in high school, what he did was very interesting.
He, um, he used Ghibli movies.
Yeah.
He would play a Ghibli film in during class and then he would stop every five seconds or 10 seconds and he would explain the words that are being said, right?

Yeah.
So that was really interesting.
That was a very, like, people were really excited to join the class.
Um, that's great.
I guess that's a pliable, like you could use, you could take like a Hollywood movie or like a, maybe like a Kimetsu Nageba English version.

And then play it and then dissect the English phrases and like, and then use that to explain your vocabularies and grammatical topics.
But, um, but what's difficult is, you know, teachers have this set of things that they have to teach them, right?

They don't have rooms to watch Ghibli movies or...
That's true.
They don't have rooms to fit in all the movie time.
So that's, I feel like that's difficult.
But if I were, if I had to think of something, I'd probably use the power of Kimetsu Nageba or like Hollywood movies to lure their interest.

And then somehow connect it to English.

But it's, it's tough.
I understand that.

Especially in those, like, as he mentioned, he's teaching in the countryside schools.
And there would be no people who actually speak English around them.
Then, you know, students, for students really difficult to imagine that English is actually useful or like actually spoken thing.

Actually a really good tool to connect or like make friends.

So I can imagine it's really difficult.
