In terms of like Narai Gotohs, I've done swimming. Swimming. Piano. I think that's it. Yeah. I think those two were like the Narai Gotohs that my parents decided. I think. I think. And I started going there.
Did you like them? No. I don't know. I don't think so. Yeah. It was okay. Okay. But I don't think I was enjoying it. I appreciate it though. But I don't think I enjoyed it from my heart. Yeah. No. I don't think so.
Okay. Yeah. So those are "Oya ni Iwarete hazumeta koto." Yeah. Do you still like swim sometimes or play piano sometimes? No. I can't. You do swim, no?
Yeah. If there's like a... See, I have this. I want to like exercise a lot. Yeah. And if there's a swimming pool that's easily accessible, then yeah. I'll swim. But I don't... It's not because I want to swim. It's more like it's there. And I can use that facility to move my body. It's my howl. I think. Yeah. Okay.
So "Oya ni Iwarete iya datta kedo, kore wa yatteite yokatta koto."
Hmm...
Like um...
I played with fire when I was a kid. Little kid. And they told me to stop. And I was like, "Okay. That was good."
"Iya datta kedo, kore wa yatteite yokatta na." "Ima ni tsunagatteru na."
06:04
I would... In my garage. In my garage in the U.S. I would light up... I would get like a grass or something and burn it on fire. And then like... And drop it. And see what happens. It's concrete. So it doesn't catch on to anything.
But my parents were afraid that it might catch on to the house and burn down the building. So I stopped.
And I think that was the right choice.
Stop playing with fire.
Yeah. "Oya ni iwarete iya datta kedo, kore wa yatteite yokatta koto." That's true.
But um... Ah. Japanese lesson. I went to Japanese school.
Oh.
Alright. And um... I was... I think that helped me with my Juken for the high school. They had a Japanese test. So...
Okay. So you didn't like going to those Japanese schools?
Um...
Wasn't it fun or...?
Well, it was fun.
It was fun.
Yeah. It was fun.
It's the... It was my parents' suggestion. So...
It was fun. Yeah. It was fun.
Yeah. So it wasn't like I didn't want to go. But my parents...
Yeah. But anyways, your parents...
Initiated it.
Yeah.
But the... Hmm...
Anything in mind for you?
Oh. Um...
Pfft.
Ah. You know...
If you speak about those Narai Goto things...
Every Narai Goto I did was what I liked.
Wow.
So there's nothing that they forced me to do something.
But the thing is just, you know, how to grab your Ohashi.
Yeah.
Or like, you know, how to eat foods.
Yeah.
Like promptly.
Promptly.
Properly.
Properly, yeah.
Or like beautifully or politely.
Yeah.
In a good way.
Or like how to talk to people.
Or like how to...
Socialize.
Yeah. How to sit in the... In the, you know, room.
Yeah.
Those things are...
You know, at the moment I didn't like that.
Because they, you know, that's not the way it should be.
They told me, "Well, I can still eat though."
Mm-hmm.
Right.
But now that was... I guess that was really good.
Right.
Right, right.
One huge support that was...
09:06
My father supporting financially with my kitchen car.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Like he offered the initial...
The... I forgot what the term was.
Shokuhyo.
Yeah.
Right?
He supported me with shokuhyo.
Mm-hmm.
And with that I had to experience what?
That was actually like my first like out there in the real world.
Like in the actual market.
Yeah.
Right?
Selling what I made.
Yeah.
And making profit, which I didn't.
But...
Yeah.
And that huge punch in the face, right?
Was...
Was there was a lot of things to learn.
Yeah.
Like actually talking to vendors.
Yeah.
Selling to customers.
Mm-hmm.
Which I didn't.
Which I didn't.
And damaging a loss.
Yeah.
Right?
So those things were a huge experience.
Sure.
Yeah.
It's a profit.
Yeah.
That was a huge, huge experience for me.
I appreciate my parents for that.
Yeah.
Mm-hmm.
Yes.
Yeah.
You know, she is sending us messages because she...
Her son, shougakusei no musuko, is going to eigo-juku right now.
Mm-hmm.
Because that's what she wants to...
His boy to be, you know, fluent in English.
Yeah.
But she thinks that, you know, her boy is not, you know, like having fun or like enjoying
that much.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I can't give advice about parenting, but...
Yeah.
Of course.
We are still kids.
Oh, yeah.
We are.
Absolutely.
Like you don't...
We've never been married.
Right?
So...
But I do feel like motivation is important.
Okay.
You know, like...
But at the same time, being forced in a situation where you can only speak English, where English
is the only tool of communication, does actually really help you excel your English skills.
True.
100% for sure.
Mm-hmm.
Whether you like it or not, right?
But at the same time, motivation still is very a big factor.
Mm-hmm.
That I can say.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So maybe just start watching our YouTube videos so that...
12:03
So your kids are interested in English?
Yeah, maybe.
Yeah?
If our contents are funny enough.
Right.
I mean, it doesn't have to be us, right?
Not necessarily, but it'll be great if it's us.
Yeah.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
But it doesn't necessarily have to be us, right?
If it's like an English...
Like Harry Potter.
Yeah, those things.
Right.
Like interesting...
Interesting things.
Yeah.
A lot of...
Like SpongeBob.
Yeah.
Right?
Jimmy Neutron.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
Like an animation.
Who's that?
Cartoon.
Jimmy's...
Jimmy Neutron.
Okay.
Yeah.
It's a cartoon.
I used to watch Jimmy Neutron.
It's a cartoon network.
What is that?
No neutron is.
It's a human...
Normal human size.
Big head though.
Okay.
Yeah.
All right.
Thanks for listening, guys.
Did I make my point?
Yeah.
Okay.
Go ahead.
What was it?
What were you about to say?
It experiences everything.
Mm-hmm.
So there's nothing to...
You know, like nothing you are losing right now.
It's just he's getting experiences.
Right, right, right.
Right?
As you lose all your money on your kitchen car.
But you've got so many experiences.
That's the most important.
All right.
So life is an experience.
Experience is everything.
Right.
Yeah.
But, you know, I do understand because, you know, cram school, jukus do cost a lot.
Of course, of course.
So if where you're putting your money is appropriate is something to...
Yeah, of course.
Be worried about is understandable.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Sure.
But you just have to believe in it, right?
Yeah.
The experience really will pay you back.
Yeah.
Pays you more in the future.
True.
So, all right.
And education is not that like instant thing, you know.
Right.
You will notice how important this was like after like 20 years later.
Absolutely.
Such a long term investment.
Yeah.
Right?
Yeah.
So it must be difficult.
Difficult, huh?
Yeah.
All right.
Yeah.
Alright, thanks for listening guys.
Bye.
