山ちゃん is back!!

Hope you’re all good.

00:00
Alright, welcome to Kevin's English Room Podcast!
And Yamachan is back!
Yaaaaay!
Yamachan, you're finally back!
Oh, finally!
How are you, man?
I'm good, I'm good.
Yeah?
It's a great day. I feel good.
Yeah, it's a podcasting day is always a great day.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
It's a really nice day and I'm feeling good. Thank you.
You're feeling good?
Yep.
Finally I, you know, get recovered from that sick and great. I feel good.
Yeah, I was kind of worried about you, man.
Thank you.
Yeah.
I'm sorry for, you know, make you all worry about.
But, yeah, I'm good now.
You're good. Have you fully recovered or?
I'm like, not fully. Mentally I'm fine, but I still have some coughs.
Coughs. Okay.
And really had a go away and had a measles.
And actually I feel like it's really easy to be tired.
Oh, really?
Shall we stop this recording, Yamachan?
But I'm fine, you know.
Are you sure you're fine?
I'm really having fun speaking with you.
That's good, that's good.
Yeah, yeah, that's good.
Yeah, yeah, that's good.
The thing is, before you were suffering from whatever it was you were suffering from,
I was suffering too, actually, the week before Ayahuasca.
I was, I don't know if you call it a kikurigoshi, but something like that.
You get old.
No, it's not. See, I want to believe that it's not a kikurigoshi.
So this is what happened.
I was carrying this load of stuff, like two bags, both pretty heavy.
And so like, oh shit, I need to get on a taxi for this.
Like I can't go on a train with this shitload of stuff.
It's going to hit people.
So I was like, I should get on a taxi.
And I had to put this stuff, you know, on the oku of the seat.
Are you okay there, man?
The further down to the seat.
Yeah, like your space.
Right side of the space, so that I can sit down.
And the moment I reached down for it, I reached further for it.
So what happened was the, so my arms are, you know, reaching forward with two heavy loads, right, in each hand.
And the pressure applied on my back.
And the left side of the muscle on my back, I think it pulled a muscle there.
03:06
It struck me.
I felt this bullet going through my back.
Not hard.
Boom!
And then I let go of my stuff.
I slowly sat down in my seat.
Told the driver to go wherever.
And I was thinking, what the fuck am I going to do?
I searched online.
And it looks like I pulled a muscle.
But see, I was still kind of able to move.
Like twist my back, stretch a little bit.
It was when I applied pressure to it is when it hurts.
So like when I bend down, that kind of hurts.
When I look up, that kind of hurt.
Because I applied pressure to my back.
And I saw that the gikkuri-goshi thing was a lot more painful.
Yeah, you can move.
So I figured that it wasn't a gikkuri-goshi.
At least I don't want to believe that I'm not the age for gikkuri-goshi.
Wow, must be so hard. Terrible.
Every time I sleep, it went on for three days.
Three days?
Three days, yeah. When I negaeri, it would strike me every time.
I would twist my body like this when I negaeri.
And that was when the muscle of my back was being used.
And it like, bam, struck me.
I was like, "Ahh!"
I forgot that my back was injured.
And then I was like, "Oh, I got to be careful."
And then I go back to sleep again, trying not to move my body.
And then I forget. Then I negaeri again.
And I'm like, "Ahh! God!"
Got that on my back. Did that through the whole night.
I can't sleep, man.
I cannot sleep, man.
Oh, that's tough.
Every hour I woke up.
Nijisandhi, yoji, goji.
Oh, really?
Finally, I ended up on the floor.
Because that was so much harder for me to negaeri.
Yeah, at the floor, just the pillow and one other pillow on my koshi.
That's it.
That was how I finalized.
Three hours of sleep.
And now I'm fully recovered.
Are you okay?
I'm okay. It doesn't hurt at all.
But you don't have to, you know, carry those heavy things.
06:04
You have to be careful.
Yeah, I got to be careful.
I got to make sure that the weight, the center of the weight is the center of my body.
I can't just go like this, right?
I have to make sure that...
Yeah, you have to go like that.
Yeah, you look goji-chan.
I do look goji-chan, don't I?
Yeah, I figured.
Yeah.
Carry your things.
Move around.
Straight, boom.
Have the chuxi, the body.
Walk slowly like this.
Yeah.
Never lean forward with it.
But yeah, I'm fully recovered.
That's nice.
Nice to hear that.
Thank you.
Hope you're doing well.
Yeah, thank you.
I'm...
Cough's going.
Yeah, I'm good.
You're good though, right?
I'm good, yeah.
I'm good.
Oh yeah, thanks for all the things that you've done while I was out.
Thank you to MC Takasan.
Yeah, I have to thank to Takasan, MC Takasan.
Thank you.
I also bought an iPad.
Oh yeah, I found that.
Yeah.
You've got a new, brand new iPad.
You know how my laptop was broken?
The screen...
I cracked my screen and it costed me...
They told me it was nanomyan to repair it.
And I was like, "No, I don't want to use that.
I don't want to use my nanomyan as defense.
I want to use it as offense."
What do you mean defense and offense?
So instead of repairing...
Is it defense for you?
That's complete defense.
Why is that defense?
Repairing is defense, dude.
Because you're just going from a negative to a zero.
Yeah.
Right?
That's defense right there.
Is that defense?
You got to go to a positive.
So what I tried to do was use that nanomyan to create myself a new environment.
Okay.
So I did want to really mobilize my PCs even more, so I decided to get an iPad.
This is gomayan.
Oh, really?
Yeah, yonmayan for the iPad, ichimayan for the case.
Both used.
Okay.
This is an older model.
Okay.
A Muji rushi iPad.
Okay.
It's very useful.
Very usable.
Very usable.
And I spent sammayan to buy a desktop, a keyboard, and an arm for the monitor.
So with that, I used my PC in clamshell mode.
Yeah, the broken screen PC.
Right.
The inside still works.
It's just a screen.
So you turn it into like a desktop.
Exactly.
09:00
That's nice.
So total was hachimayan.
Oh, cool.
So I transformed a nanomyan defensive to a hachimayan offensive.
That was pretty, I think that was a pretty good move.
Yeah, that's a good deal.
Yeah.
A really good strategy.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
It's nice.
It is, it is.
Cool.
Yeah.
Yeah, before, you know, to heal that.
The bike noise.
Oh, bike noise.
Yeah, I hear that.
Okay.
Yeah.
You know, before some days, some weeks ago.
Yeah.
You told me that you were, so you're not decided, but which one to buy.
Yeah.
iPad or new MacBook.
Yes.
But you found the best way.
Yep.
Yeah.
I think it's worth it.
Is that good for you to work?
I don't think it's 100% replaces a laptop PC because you can't do these little detailed
actions.
Yeah.
You know, like combining two audio files.
It's like combining PDFs or like easily, like seamlessly zip a file or something like that.
Yeah.
Right.
You need an app to do every one of those actions and that kind of, it's a little bit of a hassle.
But however, I would say 80%, 85%, maybe even 90% of the work I do with my laptop can be
replaced with this.
Cool.
So I would say it was a go-go.
Cool.
That's nice.
A go-go is not a phrase, guys.
I just made that up.
Yeah.
I guess what I worried about is, you know, iPad is not completely the same to the PCs.
Yes.
So that's what I worried about.
But you know how you were like against me going for the iPad because you wanted to open a
lot of windows and shit.
The windows thing is actually, it's not much of a problem.
Oh, that's good.
Yeah.
I found out that you can open three.
Oh, really?
Up to three or even maybe four if you work your way around it.
Yeah.
So it wasn't that much of a problem.
Okay.
Yeah.
That's good to hear that.
And the keyboard, I've got a lot, I've saw a lot of reviews on this keyboard saying that
it sucked.
Oh, really?
It's not that bad.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's pretty good.
Yeah.
You have an iPad too, right?
I have an iPad too.
Pro, Air?
Not sure.
Not sure.
Bigger one though.
Bigger one.
Yeah.
All right.
But I used it for, you know, writing down things.
Right.
You have the magic pencil.
Yeah.
Electric note.
Right, right, right.
It's just, it's your diary, I think, for you.
Yeah.
I still write diary on the paper.
Oh, you do?
But anyway, yeah.
Yeah.
So, you know, what I felt was, oh, it's different from the PC.
So that's what I felt.
So that's why I, you know, worried about.
But if you, you know, doing, working, you know, like perfectly with that iPad, that's
12:06
good.
Right.
Yeah.
I'm happy with the purchase.
I think that was the best way.
Yeah, it was.
It was.
I spent only, you know, 80,000 yen.
Yeah.
Only one 100,000 yen.
Yeah, it's nice.
Good.
But I'm actually more pissed about the fact that it costed me 9 million initially to fucking
repair a goddamn MacBook Pro.
Yeah.
Don't you think that that's a rip off?
To repair a screen, it's 9 million.
What the fuck, right?
Yeah.
It's only the screen?
It's only the screen.
True.
Right?
That was, that actually kind of sparked something inside me of like, maybe I shouldn't be an
Apple user anymore.
Like, why do I have to deal with all these lightning cables?
Yeah.
When everybody's going to a USB-C.
That's something I don't like about it.
Yeah.
And I'm always getting rid of all these headphone jacks.
Yeah.
I want to listen to it with a headphone jack.
Yeah.
Right?
True.
And it kind of really started, you know, got me thinking of like, should I just change
to a Windows?
Yeah, you should.
Let's, yeah.
Yeah, I'm not, see, I don't feel like dissing your phone as much as, you know, several weeks
ago.
Yeah.
Yeah.
True.
So.
Right, but I'm still in the Apple ecosystem, right?
Because it's, I didn't give it all shit, Yamachan.
What?
Okay.
This is Apple's fault.
This is Apple's fault, Yamachan.
You know, this is.
You okay there?
Yeah.
You okay there?
There we go.
Okay.
But it's okay.
We got the audio from the, from this one.
Oh, really?
We can rip it off.
Okay.
So we don't have to have it here.
Okay.
Good.
Yeah.
Yeah.
The fucking lightning cable.
Yeah.
You know, when we entered the university.
Yeah.
And we had two choices.
Yeah.
One was buying MacBook.
Oh, yeah.
One was buying Windows one.
Yes.
And I bought MacBook.
Yes.
It looked cool.
Mm-hmm.
And we don't need that little.
The lightning cable.
Cable for whatever, you know, do the.
Right.
You know, presentations.
Do things.
Exactly.
The converter.
Yeah.
Right.
See the fucking, which costs like none of the same.
Yeah.
That's really.
We don't completely have to use that.
Yeah.
Sorry for that guy.
But.
Yeah.
That's really terrible invention.
15:00
Yeah.
We completely don't need that one.
This whole wide world.
I know.
What's what's like a USB or like.
Yeah.
Fuck it.
Right.
But they are saying that they're going to eliminate all the lightning cables.
Oh, really?
Right.
That's what they're saying, though.
Okay.
Action speak louder than words, right?
All right.
Yeah.
Hope that the iPhone is catching our audio.
Yeah.
Is it connected?
It is connected.
Okay.
It's definitely connected.
Okay.
Through that, you know.
Yes.
Through this.
Yeah.
The converter again.
Right.
Exactly.
So thank you.
Yeah.
Thank you.
Thank you for being here again.
Yeah.
Really glad you're back.
Yeah.
I don't know.
I don't know if you're really back or.
Good.
I'm back.
Yeah.
Don't don't push yourself too hard.
And thank you for listening, guys.
Thank you.
Bye bye.
Bye bye.
