I'd like to talk a little bit about how to write manga.
I don't think I talked much about manga last time.
I think the progress report was about collecting materials.
I think I said, I'm going to start drawing now.
This time, I'd like to talk a little bit about the process of drawing from the point of entering the drawing.
First of all, it's full digital now, so it's like writing on an iPad with data.
I'm going to talk about how to do it in the analog era.
I've been in the analog era for a long time.
Since my debut in 2004, until around 2017, I was completely drawing with a pen on paper.
It was 8 years ago in 2017.

For the past 8 years, it's been full digital.
How to draw in the analog era,
First of all, I think I need to talk about how to write the name on the back of the used copy paper.
Now, the name is completely digital, so it's like one iPad and everything from the name.
First of all, prepare a white copy paper with the back of the used paper.
The size is B4.
Divide the B4 size in half and write the name with one page in B5 size.
I'm going to enlarge the B5 size and set it on the back of the used paper.
I forgot the ratio, but I'm going to enlarge the B5 size and set it on the back of the used paper.
Trace table is essential.
It's also called a light box, but I basically called it a trace table.
With the enlarged copy of the back of the used paper transparent,
First of all, I'm going to draw a frame line or a draft on the paper, and then I'm going to draft it.
By having a picture of the name through it, it will be a reference line as a hit.
The position, the size, the position of the character, the size of the face, etc. is decided by that.
I don't draw extra lines.
It's easier to put a pen in if there are fewer lines.
It's easier to draw without a line that gets lost rather than a pencil stroke.
Even so, I end up drawing a line that gets lost.
First of all, I'm going to use a light blue sharp pencil.
I'm going to draw a line that's more accurate than the name.

I'm not a blind person, but I'm not going to draw the inside of the person's face.
I'm going to draw a picture of a doll that looks like it's going to take a little bit of the side.
I'm going to use a picture of Mint Blue.
For reference, I used a normal black picture.
Blue is a color that doesn't appear in the print, so you don't have to erase it.
I often used it to assign a tone to my assistant.
I might talk about the tone finish again.
I used HB 0.3 for the body.
I used kneaded eraser and mono eraser.
I also used knock-type eraser for small details.
I didn't use knock-type erasers for people, but I used them for backgrounds.
The reason why a tracing stand is essential is to check that there is no distortion in the drawing.
This is when you're drawing a face from the right, and when you turn it over and turn it to the left, there's a sense of discomfort.
Even if you think you've done a good job, if you turn it over, you'll see a lot of distortion.
I think this is something that many painters experience.
Especially when I'm drawing a face in front of me, it's more distorted than I thought.
It's surprisingly difficult to draw a face in front of you.
It's very difficult to draw things symmetrically.
I think there are people who can draw a circle and people who can't draw a circle.
The circle may be the most difficult.
If you've never drawn a circle before, I'd like you to try it.
If you can draw a circle beautifully, you'll have a good sense of balance.

It's much easier to draw when you want to draw symmetrically.
If it's digital, it's easy to imagine the left and right reversal function.
It's easy to imagine because it's often done in photos.
It's natural to be able to check it with just one button.
There is a function called Clip Studio in the Paint software that I use.
There is a tool called Symmetry.
There is a function that allows you to draw symmetrically.
For example, imagine folding the paper in half and drawing the fold line as the center line.
If you draw the fold line on the right side of the paper,
you will automatically draw a line that is symmetrical with the fold line on the left side.
You can draw the right side of the paper, but you can also draw the left side of the paper.
Now you can draw a face in front of you.
However, it is unexpectedly unnatural for a person's face to be so symmetrical.
It's too organized.
When I draw a rough picture using a symmetrical ruler,
I feel like I can go crazy when I put in a pen.
I'm drawing with my own habits.
That way, the expression will be more natural, and it won't be too stiff.
There are many other things that have made it easier to draw digitally.
One is that you can draw a line to check the drawing without hesitation.
This is a little too much, so I'll leave it as it is.
The other is that you can easily change the position of the wipeout.
If the person is a little big or small,
you can solve it by enlarging or reducing it without having to rewrite it from the beginning.
If this is really analog, even if you are good at it for a while,

Another big thing is that you don't need an eraser.
Erasers are physically tiring because they require a lot of arm strength.
It's also helpful that you don't need to clean up the erasers.
When you make a lot of erasers,
the room is so messy that it's a hassle to clean up on the desk.
This is a hassle that you don't need at all in digital.
On the other hand, it's a big deal in digital.
I think the biggest thing is that you need to study the functions until you get used to them.
I don't think beginners know what to do from the first page setting.
I was wondering what to do with the page setting.
I was wondering what the page setting of this manuscript was like.
Also, I think there are quite a few cases where you can't draw well because the senses are too different from drawing on paper.
I think it's important for people to have a physical sense of writing on paper,
such as a pencil or a mechanical pencil.
It's not fun if you don't feel like you're writing,
and it's not fun if you don't feel like you're writing.
It was the same for me.
I think it's even more so for people who are particular about pencils.
I think there are quite a few people who say that soft writing tastes good or that they can't write well if they don't.
I have an iPad, but I have a liquid crystal tablet, and each of them has a different feeling of the screen.
I don't know if I can get used to the discomfort of writing on a hard screen like glass.
I don't know if I can write digitally.
I think it's going to be a big problem.
I don't think there's much of a problem if you get used to this area.
I think I'm pretty lucky.
