Welcome to Kevin's English Room Podcast!
Hello!
Hey guys!
This is from Dogu-san.
Thank you.
Beautiful。
Escaped Dog Found, Mother Falls of Capture, I Hope It's a Good One
Escaped Dog Found, Mother Fails of Capture
Mother what of Capture?
Oh, Mother Fails?
Sorry, Falls.
Mother Falls of Capture
Falls of Capture?
Mother Falls of Capture
of Capture
I thought it's Fails, but it's Falls of Capture.
I Hope It's a Good One
Escaped Dog Found, Mother Falls of Capture, I Hope It's a Good One
Let's make one. Let's make one right now.
What's the rule of this?
Yeah, that's it.
Let's make one.
We're big boys, we can make one.
We've been living in Japan for many years.
We understand the Japanese culture and how the haiku is beautiful.
I know it's difficult to understand for some foreigners.
But us? Piece of cake.
Let's do it, man.
Let's do it.
She's saying that you don't have to put kigo in it.
But as we are professionals, let's put some kigo in it.
03:02
We're in the winter season, so something related to...
Let's do that.
You know, like snow, Valentine's Day, chocolate could be...
I knew that, by the way.
I know what kigo is.
I didn't mean it.
You know, I've been here for a long time.
I just want to let you know that I know what kigo is.
I understand.
Okay, go on.
You got one?
Yeah, go on.
All right, let's hear it.
I made something that everybody can understand in the world.
It's like a joke.
Okay.
Okay.
I ate too much.
My hands are yellow.
Okay.
It's not bad.
It's cute.
It's like a joke, you know?
Cute, yeah.
It's like a stand-up comedy vibe.
Yeah, that's cute.
I mean, it was...
It was fair.
It was okay.
It was okay.
Okay, yeah.
Not bad.
Not bad.
I mean, yeah, mikan is a winter fruit, right?
And we joke that our fingers get yellow eating too much of that, right?
And it's tasty.
Yeah, right.
It's a very daily, usual thing in Japan.
It really does picture the everyday lives of, you know, the special everyday life, you know?
Yeah.
Everyday but special.
That's right.
You know, the shiawase inside our normal life.
Yes, yes, yes.
Yeah.
Thank you.
That was a good one.
Thank you.
Let me give you mine.
Yeah, please.
I got one.
Okay.
With my take-out pizza, afraid of getting cold, I take one bite.
Boy, I love pizza.
Oh, that's very high level one.
Very high level, right?
Yes, yes.
So, what I did right there is I sort of ignored the go-shichi-go.
Yeah, but actually, like, make rhythm.
I did make rhythm.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So, I was still playing the game even though I was ignoring the go-shichi-go, right?
The rhythm, yes.
The rhythm was still vibable.
Yes, yes.
06:00
And so, I was picturing a scene where you'd order a take-out pizza from, like, a pizza shop.
Yeah.
Like one of those New York pizzas, right?
Where you can buy each slices.
Oh, I like that one.
So, I pictured myself buying a slice of pepperoni pizza, holding that on my hand, bringing it home.
And the weather outside is very cold.
So, I'm afraid that the pizza's gonna get cold.
I got home.
I took a bite into it.
And boy, even though the pizza's cold, I love pizza.
Oh, wow.
That's beautiful.
That's beautiful, right?
Yeah.
That's, like, ordinarily everyday piece.
Yeah.
Life in Japan, right?
Exactly.
Right?
What?
It makes you wanna eat pizzas.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Right?
Right, right, right.
Can you repeat the whole...
Yeah, yeah, yeah, sure.
With my take-out pizza, afraid of getting cold, I take one bite.
Boy, I love pizza.
I love that.
The last part.
Boy, I love pizza.
So, from, like, two sentences, that made sense.
As in, rhythmically, that made sense.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
With my take-out pizza, afraid of getting cold.
Yeah, perfect, perfect.
And then last part.
I take one bite.
Boy, I love pizza.
Yeah, that's very, like, you know, maybe, like, stepping huge out of, like, the rules.
And then you're saying the fact that you love pizza.
Yeah.
Wow.
Has, like, strong impact.
Wow.
And that made, like...
Wow.
That made the message.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You felt the strength of the poem, right?
Right, right, right.
Even you stepping out, and then you say it.
Right, right.
I would step out of the rules to say that I love pizzas.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Which is a very strong feeling.
Yes, yes, yes.
Wow.
We're actually kind of talented.
Yeah, we are.
Right?
Yeah.
Yeah, right.
So, the pizza was like a kigo, right?
For the...
No.
Oh, no?
No.
Okay.
Sorry.
Sorry, sorry.
What was that?
Sorry.
The pizza's not the kigo.
Oh, sorry.
Because pizza, you can eat all season.
Yes, of course.
Sorry.
Right?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
The kigo was the fact that it was cold outside.
Oh, okay.
Okay.
Yeah.
Did you...
Oh, sorry, sorry.
I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
The weather.
Okay.
So, the cold itself was the kigo.
Yeah.
Fraid of getting cold.
The cold was the kigo.
Okay.
Yeah.
Excuse me.
Of course.
Sorry, I'm sorry, sir.
I'm sorry.
Yeah.
A little respect here.
I'm sorry.
Yeah.
All right.
Thank you.
Thank you for listening, guys.
Thank you.
09:00
Bye-bye.
