Welcome to Kevin's English Room Podcast.
Hello.
Guys, how's it going?
That one?
Uh-huh.
Oops.
So...
Okay.
Okay, that one.
This is from 男かあちゃんさん.
こんにちは。いつも本当に楽しみに聞いています。
Thank you.
You can use it.
You can use Apple Pay.
Yes, you can use Apple Pay.
So, for Australia,
You can use everything.
Credit card,
Catchable,
Anywhere,
Even like very small,
What do you mean?
Store.
Oh, so all stores were cashless.
Yeah.
Nice!
I went to, you know I talked about this before,
I went to Amazon.
Not Amazon, like a forest.
Like a forest, like a deep forest.
Yeah, it's not Amazon.
Different country.
03:00
Yeah, it's deep forest.
It has like small shops in the forest.
Oh, like a local, like a, yeah, I get it.
The one you have to climb with the cable cars,
and then finally reach to the restaurants in like a small village.
Right, that place.
Every shop has, you know the,
Yeah, and you can touch it.
Wow, so convenient.
You know, the more you not gonna guess like in Japan, right?
The less Denshikai it is.
So, very surprising.
It was very surprising.
Nobody, I didn't see anybody paying the cash.
Do you have cash on you for the trip?
I did.
Prepare for that, of course, but,
Not use it?
No, didn't use it.
Zero.
But I wanted to use that, my cash,
because I won't be using it in Japan.
Right, right, right, you want to get rid of it.
Yeah, and last day I used it.
Oh, wow.
Very surprising, you know.
Yeah, it was so,
Those places have cashless store.
Yeah, yeah.
So, America you can use cash.
Yeah, America you can use, yeah.
Cashless.
You know, when you, you know, tachikessai?
Like credit card, you have that tachikessai.
You know what I'm talking about?
Yeah.
So, when you use a credit card,
there's like the swiping and the sliding it in,
and the touching.
Yes.
That's the three type.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Have you used the touching one?
Yeah, basically I touch it.
What do you say?
Okay.
What do you say to the employee?
Like, when you have to tell them your payment type?
In Japan?
Yeah, like, if it's Pepe,
you say Pepe de.
If it's ID, you say ID de.
Oh, I say credit card de or card de.
I see.
Why?
Oh, I see.
Well, I mean, do you have to say that tachikessai?
I've been saying Visa no tachi de.
Oh.
And I don't know if that was correct or not.
I mean, so my card isn't Visa,
and I just say card de.
So, one thing we know is you don't have to specify the credit card company.
Yeah, maybe.
I guess it's all the same with that machine, the same spot.
So, you don't even say you're going to do the tachikessai.
Yeah.
And it works every time for you?
Yeah.
Oh, okay, I didn't know that.
Yeah, so, okay, when I say card de onegaishimasu,
and then the stock lock brings the machine.
Credit card tamatsu, right?
And then sometimes you just put it and say nothing.
So, I just touch it and done.
Or, tachika sashikomi onegaishimasu.
Sometimes, and then I just touch shimasu.
I don't say this, but just touch it.
Or, yeah, that's it.
That's it.
06:00
I see, okay.
Yeah, I didn't know how much you had to specify.
Yeah.
And you wonder every time.
Yeah, I mean, I've never said any my credit card brand or how to do that.
Touch or not.
Yeah.
I got it, yeah.
Just wondering, just wondering.
Yeah.
But in Japan, some cases you can't touch.
Yeah, you can't do that, yeah.
So, sometimes, you know, they bring the machine and I touch it.
That doesn't work.
Tsumasen, sashikomi onegaishimasu.
Ah, okay.
And so, that happens sometimes.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
I see.
Okay.
Yeah, I just wonder, just wonder.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I just wonder.
In Australia, if you have that machine, the store has like a little paper in front of
the store saying, I forget the name, but abbreviation of something like Eppu Tofu available.
Something like that.
Eppu Tofu or Eppu Tofu or something like that.
Electronic.
Yeah, electronic.
Something, something.
Yeah, something, something payment available.
And that was in many places, including I went to the market, like Sunday market.
Okay.
Oh, yeah.
You know.
Ichiba?
Yeah.
Even ichibas.
Ichibas have it.
Touch, kesa available.
And they're saying, ii potofu available.
Oh, wow.
Yeah.
Wow.
So.
That's so rare.
Yeah.
So rare.
Yeah.
For us, like a tourist, you know, it's very easy.
So much easier.
Yeah.
It's so much easier.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's nice.
Yeah.
That's awesome.
Thanks for listening, guys.
Bye-bye.
