#19 First trip to Korea in 2023
Thank you for listening my podcast!! today i talked about i went to Korean Trip for the first time!! Subtitels in Japanese and English Hello everyone. Today I would like to talk about my first trip to Korea in my life. I love Korean dramas and have always wanted to visit Korea. Finally, in the summer of 2023, I was able to realize my long-cherished dream of traveling to Korea. I was very excited and nervous as I boarded the plane for my first trip abroad. The plane ride to Korea was a lot of fun. I couldn't stop being excited about the clouds I could see out the window and the food on the plane. I used Asiana Airport. The in-flight meal on the plane to Korea was katsudon! It was very delicious and I was already impressed from here. We arrived in Korea in about 2 hours from Japan. Not knowing any Korean, I was a bit confused at first. When I arrived in Korea, I first took a bus to my hotel. However, I could not speak Korean well and made a mistake in getting on the bus. At that time, a Japanese person, who was also a tourist, kindly told me the bus stop in Japanese. He then encouraged me, saying, "Be careful on your trip and good luck. His words gave me great encouragement and I was able to arrive at my hotel safely. I was very happy because the hotel was very clean, spacious, and inexpensive. When I arrived in Korea, the first thing that surprised me was that the atmosphere of the city was completely different from that of Japan. The height of the buildings, the fashion of the people, everything was fresh and very inspiring. I was especially impressed by the beautiful night view. The most memorable part of my trip to Korea was the food. There were many Korean dishes that were new to me, such as jarred noodles and mandu, and they were all delicious. My trip to Korea is an unforgettable memory for me. I was very happy to experience firsthand the warmth of the Korean people and the charm of Korea. However, I have one regret. I wish I had studied Korean more. If I could have spoken Korean, I would have been able to interact with more Korean people. From now on, I will study the language of the country before I travel abroad. **Summary:** My trip to Korea was a very valuable experience for me. It was great to learn about the warmth of the Korean people and the charm of Korea. From now on, I would like to travel abroad more and learn about the cultures of different countries. Well, that concludes today's delivery here. Thank you for listening today! See you soon. またね --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/niinajapaneseroom/message

#18 A story about dreaming of oversleeping
Thank you for listening my podcast!! Subtitels in Japanese and English. I had a dream today that I overslept. I woke up impatiently and looked at the clock and saw that I was really just in time to be late. I looked at my face alarm, thinking it was strange that I always set my alarm, and realized that I had forgotten to set my alarm last night. I was really glad that I woke up in time because I dreamed that I was going to oversleep and I woke up in a hurry. Do you ever dream of oversleeping when you feel like oversleeping too? I actually experience this dream quite often. I have no idea why I dream of oversleeping when I am about to oversleep, but I guess it is a kind of prophetic dream? I love sleeping, so I sometimes spend the whole day sleeping on my days off. When I sleep, I get tired very well, but if I sleep too much, I get a headache. I know I should rest in moderation, but I can't help but sleep too much and get a headache. Do you like to sleep? I know some of you have trouble sleeping when there are sounds or lights on. However, I can fall asleep even if there are sounds or lights on. My friends tell me that it is great to be able to sleep anywhere and anytime. On the other hand, since I can sleep anywhere there is sound, I often don't wake up when the alarm goes off in the morning. It is very annoying, isn't it? But I don't know what to do about it myself, so I'm honestly stumped. Besides, my family says that even though the alarm is ringing, I subconsciously stop the alarm or talk myself out of sleeping some more. In fact, I once overslept when I was a student. At that time I asked my parents why they didn't wake me up. Then my parents told me that they did wake me up but you asked them to let me sleep in a little longer. I was really surprised that I had no memory of that. I don't live now with my parents waking me up, but I am sure that even now, if someone talks to me while I am sleeping, I would react unconsciously. If you have a similar experience, I would love to hear your comments! We'd love to hear your interesting sleep stories too! Well, that concludes today's delivery! Thanks again for listening today! #13 School lunch in elementary school in Japan and abroad
Hello everyone and welcome to Nina's Japanese room. Today's topic is school lunch in elementary schools in Japan and abroad School lunches in Japanese elementary schools provide an opportunity for children to consume food easily. School lunches are usually served at school, and children eat together in classes, which contributes to interaction and social development. In addition, school lunches generally use local ingredients, which is part of respecting local produce and food culture. On the other hand, in elementary schools overseas, the form of school lunch provision differs from country to country and region to region. In some countries, school lunches are provided at the school, but it is also common for students to bring their own lunch or eat at a nearby cafeteria or restaurant. The scope and content of school lunches also vary from country to country and region, influenced by cultural and budgetary differences. Education systems and policies play an important role in the provision of school lunches. School lunches are expected to provide children with a well-balanced diet, taking into account their health and nutritional needs. Some countries also address meal etiquette and nutrition education as part of their educational programs. As a result, there are differences in the way school lunches are provided in Japanese and foreign elementary schools, but both systems play a role in supporting children's growth and learning. School lunches are provided in accordance with the local culture and educational system, allowing children to have a healthy eating and learning experience at school. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/niinajapaneseroom/message

#12 How Japanese children go to school
Hello everyone and welcome to Nina's Japanese room. Today's theme is "How Japanese children go to school." Today I would like to talk about how to go to school! In Japan, most students go to school alone. Because parents are busy, children have to find their own way to school. In contrast, in other countries, many students seem to commute with their parents. There are several advantages and disadvantages to this commuting method. First, the advantage of commuting to school alone is that it fosters independence. Children have to decide their own route and be on time. Besides, they can commute to school with their friends, so they can bond with their peers. However, there are some disadvantages. Going to school alone means that there are safety concerns. Especially on busy roads, children need to be careful and have the knowledge and skills to avoid danger. Also, commuting to school can be difficult in bad weather or if the school is far away. In summary, Japanese students often commute to school alone. This has the advantage of fostering independence and bonding with friends, but we must not forget the disadvantages of traffic safety and the difficulty of commuting to school. Everyone, always be careful when commuting to school and do your best to be safe! Well, that concludes today's distribution! Thank you for listening today! #08 Japanese understanding of LGBTQ
Hello everyone, hello there to Nina's Japanese room. Today is Wednesday, May 17, 2023. Today's topic is "Understanding Japanese lgbtq." Have you ever heard of the term LGBTQ? It is world-renowned that Japan is far behind in its understanding regarding LBGTQ, so perhaps many of you who are listening to this podcast right now know far more about LBGTQ than we Japanese do. If this is the first time you have heard of the term, I hope this distribution will help you understand it at least a little bit. But I am not going to talk about it in detail like an expert! LOL! First of all, let me explain what this term means. LGBTQ is an acronym for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer and is a general term for people who are generally referred to as sexual minorities. Lesbian means that a woman likes a woman. Gay means that a man likes a man. This much is common knowledge to the extent that there are no Japanese who do not know this. However, there are not a few Japanese who cannot answer when asked what the Q in lgbtq is. Q is "Questioning," which refers to people who have not yet decided on their own gender identity or sexual orientation, or those who dare not decide. ** That's enough explanation of the term. I study English with an app called Hello Talk. In this app, many people from overseas who want to know about Japan ask questions about Japan. I often see people who want to move to Japan but are worried about being accepted by Japanese people because I am a lesbian. As I said before, Japan is still not well known in the world for its lack of understanding of LGBTQ people, and I have learned that this is the reason why people from overseas who want to go to Japan are worried about it. The number one thing I want to convey today is that, overall, Japan certainly lags behind the rest of the world in its understanding of LGBTQ people. However, I feel that the younger generation of Japanese are more accepting of LGBTQ. In fact, I fall into the lesbian category. I have a girlfriend who I love very much. I am a woman myself, but I am dating a woman. When I told my friends who are my peers, I have never once been denied or spoken ill of. Certainly, I don't think you can understand all people about all things. But the number of Japanese people who can accept what they do not understand is increasing. So, if there are people who want to go to Japan but have concerns about LGBTQ issues, I would like to tell them that they can come without worries. I will be waiting for you in Japan! And I hope that Japan will deepen its understanding of LGBTQ people more and more, so that people around the world will say that Japan is a tolerant country for LG BTq! That's all I have to say for today. Thank you again for listening! See you soon. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/niinajapaneseroom/message

#07 How to enjoy Halloween
today im going to talk about how to enjoy Halloween in Japan. Subtitles in Japanese and English. Hello everyone. Today I would like to talk about how to enjoy Halloween. Halloween is an autumn harvest festival originally held in Europe. Nowadays, it has spread all over the world as an event for fun, such as dressing up in costumes and handing out candy. In Japan, Halloween has become more and more popular in recent years. Especially in large cities such as Tokyo, it is common to see people in costumes parading through the streets. Personality: There are three main ways to enjoy Halloween. The first is **dressing up**. Some people dress up as ghosts, witches, zombies, and other Halloween-like costumes, while others dress up as their favorite things, such as anime or video game characters. The second is **trick-or-treating**. Children usually say "Trick or treat!" and knock on people's doors to receive candy. The third is to **participate** in the event. Halloween events are held all over Japan. There are a variety of events such as costume parades, live performances, workshops, etc. We encourage you to participate in these events. Personality: Halloween is not just an event to be enjoyed, but also an opportunity to experience Japanese culture and traditions. For example, during Halloween, Shinto shrines and temples display spirit shelves and onigatami lanterns to welcome ancestors and spirits. In Kyoto, Halloween events are also held as one of the autumn festivals. **Scene 4**. Personality: Halloween is an event that anyone can enjoy. Please try to enjoy Halloween this year by dressing up in costume, handing out candy, participating in events, and more. **ENDING** Personality: That's all I have to say about how to enjoy Halloween. Halloween has also developed its own unique way of enjoying in Japan. I look forward to seeing how Halloween in Japan will continue to develop in the future. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/niinajapaneseroom/message

#06 Pet cat, Nyantaro
Thank you for listening today! This time i talked about my favorite cat that i have!! Subtitels in Japanese and English Hello everyone, hello there to Nina's Japanese room. Today is Wednesday, May 24, 2023. Today's topic is "About my pet cat, Nyantaro." I have a pet. I have five cats. Today I would like to talk about the first one of them that I got. The first cat's name is Nyantaro. I named him Nyantaro. I put the word "nyan" in his name because he meows, and I also combined it with the word "taro" because he was a boy. I combined "Nyan" and "Taro" to form "Nyantaro." It's a very simple name that I am embarrassed to think about now (laugh). He is a bicolor cat, white and brown. He is very cute and I love him! Now I will tell you the story of when he and I met. My grandpa's friend gave him to me when I was about 6 years old. My grandpa's friend had at least 5 cats. My grandfather's friend let all of his cats roam free outside. I thought it was very cool to see them living free and uninhibited! I was 6 years old and very young, and I fell in love at first sight with one of the many cats. So I begged a lot of my grandpa's friends to give him to me because I really wanted to keep him. I promised my family that I would take care of him myself and take good care of him. From then on, he and I were together all the time, even when we ate and slept together. I liked to play with my friends outside, but I preferred to play with him at home. We were not close all the time, all the time, and of course he and I fought a lot. I still have a scar on my arm from a fight I had with him in elementary school where he scratched me. In Japan, there is a saying, "The more you fight, the better you get along. This saying means that if you fight a lot, it means that you can always say what you want to say to each other without hesitation, and therefore you are good friends. As you can see from this saying, he and I are definitely best friends. As proof of this, we absolutely slept together when we went to bed, even when we had fights. I am sure that he would sleep with me because he would let me in his blanket when he slept with me, and I am sure that he was just sleeping with me for that reason, but I choose to think that he slept with me because he loves me. He is a cat, but he has taught me to care about people. I am sure some of you have pets too. If you have any interesting episodes with your pets, please let us know in the comments! Well, that's it for today's edition! See you all again on the next distribution! See you soon! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/niinajapaneseroom/message

#04 Convenience Store Coffee
Hello everyone, hello there to Nina's Japanese room. Today is May 10, 2023. Today's theme is "Coffee at the Convenience Store." My goodness, I have recently become a coffee drinker. Do you like coffee? I think there are so many people who like coffee. All of my friends I have recently met who live outside of Japan say that they like coffee. I had a cup of coffee once when I was a child. It was a bitter and tasteless drink, so I never drank coffee again until I became an adult. I have a friend who loves coffee so much that she drinks several cups a day. My friend encouraged me to give coffee a try, and I tried it for the first time in about 10 years. It was my first cup of coffee in 10 years, and it tasted so good that I started drinking coffee about once every three days. I think that even if you disliked something in the past, when you try it again as an adult, you may be surprised to find that you are able to drink or eat it again. Whenever I go for a drive these days, I stop by a convenience store to buy coffee. I feel very calm when I drive along the road at night while drinking coffee from the convenience store. And the daily fatigue of the day is gone. Whenever I stop at a convenience store, I tend to look at things I don't plan to buy. Convenience stores sell not only drinks, but also snacks, stationery, socks, and so many other things. If any of you listening to this distribution live in Japan, please tell us what is your favorite product at a convenience store in Japan. If you do not live in Japan, please let us know in the comments what kind of products you like to buy if you have a konbini in your country. This is a bit off topic, but I am glad to know how good coffee tastes. I am going to look into how to make good coffee and try to make it myself! Well, that's it for today's delivery! #03 Car Washing
Hi there, how are you doing in Nina's Japanese room? Today is Wednesday, May 3, 2023. Today's theme is "Car Wash." Recently in Japan, there have been many days of yellow sand flying around. When the yellow sand is blown, cars left outside become very dirty. My car was also very dirty, so I decided to wash it when I got home. When I came home today, my father was washing the car! I was very envious to see his car shining so brightly. So I decided to wash my car too! In Japan, if you go to a store, a machine will wash your car for about 1,000 yen. I think many of you also like to wash your car by machine. I also like it very much. One machine washes and waxes my car. It blows wind fast and removes water from the car. I have only done the car wash machine twice, but it is very fun, like riding on an attraction. The weather is very nice today so I use my own hands to polish my car to a shine with a sponge and detergent! I don't remember the last time I washed my car with my own hands in winter. I remember it was very cold and my hands were very sore! As I recall, my hands hurt so much that I gave up and stopped washing the car halfway through! LOL! When I washed the car with my own hands, I could see where my car was dirty from close up, and I was very happy and enjoyed cleaning the dirty parts with my own hands! I washed the car with my father, so I was able to talk with him while I was washing the car. My father is a serious and kind person, so he worked very hard to wash my car with me! When the car wash was over and I wiped off the water on my car, it was so shiny that I liked my car more than ever. It was a very fulfilling holiday! Everyone should try washing their car with their family! Well, that's it for today's delivery! See you all again in the next delivery! またね〜 Good morning everyone and welcome to Nina's Japanese room. Today's theme is "about taking a walk." Today is a very nice day, so I am planning to go for a walk to the park. Do you often take a walk? I think people who commute to work by car don't have much of a chance to walk. I am one of them. I usually use my car to go everywhere, so I don't walk much. I think walking is very good for my health, so I am going to take a rare walk today. There is an ocean about 15 minutes walk from my house. I don't always walk, so I think this is about the right distance for me. I think I will go to the beach today. I wonder how many minutes a day people who say they usually go for a walk do it? Please let me know in the comments. I post podcasts on YouTube with Japanese and English subtitles. Please try to comment positively in Japanese in the comment section of YouTube where it is posted. When you are studying Japanese, you should think of many Japanese sentences, so please make use of my comment section. If you are listening to the podcast or Spotify, there is a YouTube link in the summary section, so please come and comment from there! Now, back to the walk. Japan has four seasons. Have you ever heard of spring, summer, fall, and winter? When you take a walk, you can smell the seasons by the smells outside. In autumn, you can smell the fragrance of the fragrant fragrant rhinoceros tree, which is a very nice fragrance. In the fall, I walk toward the fragrance of the fragrance of the fragrant rhinoceros tree and take a walk until I find the fragrance of the kumquatsugi tree. When I am taking a walk, of course, I cannot work, so I can think of all kinds of pleasant things to do. I use the time to think about exciting things like what I'm going to talk about on my podcast! Taking a walk makes me feel so much better! I encourage everyone to go for a walk and stay healthy in mind and body! That concludes today's delivery. Thanks for listening! #01 Libraries in Japan and the U.S.
Nice to meet you, this is Nina's Japanese room, the first one. Today I will start a podcast talking about Japan in Japanese. People who want to study Japanese, about Japan, If you want to know more about Japan and Japanese culture, please listen to this podcast. Today's theme is "About Japanese Libraries and American Libraries." Have you ever been to a library? I love libraries. There are so many books and CDs that I always have a hard time deciding what to borrow. It is a quiet and clean place, so I sometimes go there not to borrow books but to study. I was curious if there are any differences between my favorite Japanese library and libraries in other countries, so I checked out libraries in the U.S. First, the types of things you can borrow. In Japan, you can borrow books such as novels, study books, manga, magazines, and music CDs. In the U.S., it seems that you can borrow not only books and CDs, but also musical instruments, sports equipment, cameras, children's toys, and so on, and so on. Next, the number of books you can borrow In Japan, each person can borrow up to 10 books at the same time. In the U.S., you can borrow up to 100 books at a time, and some libraries allow you to borrow an unlimited number of books. It is exciting to be able to borrow that many books at once! Next, let's look at the period of time you can borrow books. In Japan, most places allow you to borrow books for two weeks. Most books are finished in two weeks, so that's a good length of time! In the U.S., it seems that you can borrow a book for 21 days and extend it up to 4 times. That means you can borrow a book for 84 days! This means you can borrow Harry Potter novels with no worries! This is how much I have researched this time! Is there a library near your house? I go to the library every week. I encourage everyone to visit a library near your home and borrow something! I am sure you will find something new to enjoy. Talking about libraries makes me want to go there, so I think I will go there now. That concludes today's delivery. Thanks for listening! See you all again in the next delivery! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/niinajapaneseroom/message
