In 1995, there was only one computer in our university lab connected to the internet. That same year, a laser disc at the library led me to a novel that changed everything. Thirty years later, here I am — writing, editing, and podcasting in English with the help of AI.

My classmates and I would take turns sitting in front of it. We practiced typing, we chatted with students from other universities.

And we discovered something exciting. The internetwas a window to the world.

卒業論文と『ジョイ・ラック・クラブ』

At that time, I was writing my graduation thesis in English. Over 30 pages. It was hard. I wasn't confident in my English writing. But I did it.

My thesis was about a novel called The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan. It was published in 1989, just a few years before I chose it as my topic.

Looking back now, I realize that book is still widely read in high schools all across America today.

Not bad for someone who just followed her instincts.

テクノロジーの進化とAIの活用

Around that same time, Windows 95 was released.Computers were becoming a part of everyday life.

I was already there. And now, more than 30 years later, I use AI to help me write, edit, and even create podcasts in English.

The girl who sat in front of that one computer in1995 had no idea where it would lead.

But, here I am.
