On the 25th, the prefecture announced that it will use AI image analysis to ease traffic congestion, which will be implemented for 15 weekdays from April 7th during times when traffic congestion is expected.

In the central city area, congestion in the mornings and evenings on weekdays is an issue. Therefore, AI-based congestion detection cameras will be installed in the surrounding area to analyze the flow of vehicles. In addition, a system will be introduced that will prompt drivers to take a detour on electronic bulletin boards depending on the results.

Based on the results of this demonstration experiment, the prefecture plans to consider introducing the system to other intersections where congestion is likely to occur in the future.
