English Description
Welcome to HOUWA NO KI — Heartwarming Buddhist Stories, the English version of Hōwa no Ki, presented by Taiki Fujii.
In this episode, we reflect on a very human contradiction:
“When I’m alone, I want to be with someone.
But when I’m with someone, I want to be alone.”
Through a poem about never being truly alone, the Buddhist teaching of dependent origination, and the example of a three-legged race, we explore loneliness, human relationships, love, hatred, and our tendency to put our own convenience first.
What does Buddhism teach us about the connections between our lives?
And how does Amida Buddha call us to awaken to the life we share with others?
I hope this talk offers you a quiet moment to pause, reflect, and feel a little more connected.
Thank you for listening.
