Today, I'd like to talk about How to learn English part 2.
This topic aims for adults who will start to learn English again.
In the last episode, I told you about pronunciation, especially the difference between English and Japanese.
If you haven't listened to the content yet, please check it after this time.
When you start to learn English again, you will probably try to remember English grammar.
The choice is very crucial as the order you speak in is very important.
But you not only have to study grammar, but also use it through speaking and writing.
Otherwise, you can't use it in real communication.
In fact, many grammar textbooks are sold and ranked in the bookstore.

Studying grammar is easy to imagine.
If I were a beginner in English, I would follow the order below.
First, I'll start by reviewing junior high and high school grammar with one or two textbooks.
The best way is to learn it well enough to explain it.
I used to remember grammar by feel.
When I started to work at cram school, it was not appropriate to teach English by feel.
So, I relearned it logically to make my students understand it more easily.
I'll talk about it again next time, but once you understand the grammar and the structure of each sentence, your reading speed will improve.
After you've gone through the textbook three times, try translating from Japanese into English.
It really helps you speak in English.
It might be hard to try this even with a grammar textbook you've already studied.
Translating from Japanese into English is different from translating from English into Japanese.

The former is more difficult than the latter.
If you keep doing it, your brain will get accustomed to it.
I still practice this almost every day.
Okay, let's wrap up today's topic.
First, relearning grammar is a good thing, and in English, what order really matters compared to Japanese.
However, if you focus only in grammar input, it won't lead to better speaking or writing.
That's why I recommend this order.
First, review junior high and high school grammar with textbooks.
Then practice translating from Japanese into English, starting with sentences from those textbooks.
Okay, with the remaining few minutes, I'd like to pick one tourist spot in Japan and talk about it briefly.
I'll introduce Kenrokuen Garden.
The garden is one of the three great gardens of Japan.
The other two are Kairakuen in Mito and Korakuen in Okayama.
The garden is made in Edo era by a Maito family as a private land.
You can enjoy seasonal views, especially fall leaves are very beautiful.
When you enter the garden, you'll first see the famous Kotoji lantern.
It's a famous stone lantern, and the name comes from its shape, which looks like the brief of a koto, a traditional Japanese instrument.
A kotoji is a movable bridge used to adjust the pitch of the stings on a koto.
This is a popular photo spot.
Other photo spot in Kenrokuen is Kasumigaike pond.
It's a pond in the center of the garden and offers a strong sense of openness and reflects the beauty of each season.
If you have a chance to visit Kanazawa, it's well worth a visit.
