Unpacking The NYC Marathon With Cedric King: A Story of Service & Sacrifice

Cedric King is a former Army Master Sergeant, Purple Heart recipient, and double amputee who has run more than 30 marathons on running blades.

We recorded the day after the NYC Marathon, where I served as his run support and found a way to get out of my own self-obsession and make it about somebody else. We discuss the IED blast in Afghanistan that took his legs, his struggle with painkillers, his father, and why being of service is the answer.

And I try to explain why running beside him was an absolute, unforgettable peak experience.
