健康的な食生活の再考
Welcome to Kevin's English Room Podcast.
Hello.
Hello, guys.
Hello, hello.
Hello.
How's your health diet and healthy routines and everything?
You know how after being hospitalized, I lost a lot of weight?
Yeah, yeah, you said it.
I'm on a journey to gain more weight.
Oh, I see.
And I'm doing a good job.
I'm doing a good job.
You eat, you train.
Yes, I eat, I train.
I feel, you know, just as strong.
As before.
Yeah, as before.
Good.
Yeah, I mean, right now I changed my workout routine.
So before, I just did any part of the body that I felt like doing.
Okay, on that spot.
That's right.
Now, I separated my body into three sections.
Yeah.
Arms, body, and legs.
Okay, okay.
And one day I'm doing the arm day, and then the next day it's like the body day.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And then the leg day.
And I'm like, if it's the arm day, I'm doing every muscle of the arm I could.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And doing it very aggressively.
And then, right, and I'm doing that.
Good, good, good.
I like it.
I like it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
It allows me to push myself harder, you know, because your whole body still has energy.
So I feel like that's a much better way to hit the muscles.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's what you're supposed to do, right?
Oh, okay.
That's right.
Separate parts.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's right.
Good, good, good.
I'm doing that right now.
Nice, nice, nice.
I still can't do the hooking.
Oh.
I'm not allowed to do it yet.
Okay.
Yeah.
Two or three months.
I have to wait.
But you're doing legs?
Yeah, legs, arms.
Body too?
Back.
Back too?
Yes.
Is it okay?
Yeah.
I'm not putting any pressure on the surgery area.
Okay.
So.
Great.
Yeah.
Great.
In terms of food-wise, yeah, you know, still healthy.
I'm still eating very healthy.
But you know, here and there I go for like a good, you know, tasty meal.
You're enjoying food at the same time?
Yes.
Yes.
Great.
Great.
Yeah.
So I feel like I'm having a great balance.
Nice.
Yeah.
Very nice.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Well, me too.
It's a New Year's resolution to me too.
But, you know, years ago I was very focusing on the healthy things and like I was eating
oatmeal and those things.
But after that, I start having life without care.
Yeah.
You suddenly came to like a breaking point.
Yes.
I eat everything I want.
Anytime.
Anytime.
Yeah.
And I've been doing it for like two years, I guess, of that mood.
Oh, that's a very long.
Okay.
Yeah.
And I feel like now I have to change a little bit.
And yeah, I'm not going to change drastically and try to limit anything.
Great idea.
But at least the time, I think I need to control the time.
When you're eating?
Okay.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
I've been eating everything I want.
Anytime I want.
Like 10 p.m., 11 p.m.
Yeah.
It doesn't matter.
Like 1, 2.
1 a.m.
2 a.m.
Whatever.
Like ramen?
Yeah, whatever.
The fries, the burgers.
I have a question.
How has that affected your health and like your mood and your body?
食生活の見直し
I think, well, first, I got fat.
Okay.
Second, I think so the next morning or next whole day feel like not 100% energized.
Like especially the morning, like heavy, feels heavy.
Are you talking about specifically the days when you eat at night?
Yes.
Yes.
Okay.
But that's been every day kind of.
Oh, okay.
So it's all the time.
Yeah.
All the time.
Yeah.
It feels heavy.
Okay.
But that's not a good thing.
Yeah.
Right.
For my health.
Absolutely.
Absolutely.
And yeah, and now I'm not living alone because when I was living alone, I could do anything
I want.
Absolutely.
You're the only place.
You're the only one in the house.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I used to eat a huge amount of carbonara, cream pasta at 1 a.m.
Sure.
And eating these things at 3 or those things.
Yeah.
But now I have an eye.
Yeah.
To, you know.
You have a family now.
Yeah.
Right.
So, you know.
Is it harder?
Is it harder for you?
Yeah.
I mean, I have freedom to do that.
But she gives me some advice.
It's like.
Oh, maybe.
Quote, unquote advice.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
So, yeah.
True.
You're right.
And she's right.
Yes.
And she's right.
So, yeah.
Okay.
True.
It's not healthy.
I was too out of control.
And that's what I decided to set as a new year's resolution.
That's great.
Yeah.
No eating after 11.
Good start though.
Yeah.
Good start though.
Yeah.
You know.
Coming from someone who's been eating at 1 and 2.
Right.
Good start though.
Yeah.
Or 24.
Like midnight.
Midnight.
Yeah.
Still.
At least.
You know, you don't want to go.
You know, the thing about diet is you don't want to go.
Yeah.
I don't want to go like after like 9.
Yeah.
That's too much.
Like it's too.
That's too much.
The harder is too hard.
You want to go gradually.
Right.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So, start from.
Starting with.
Not after.
11.
11.
Sure.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, that's reasonable.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Well, I was on a diet for 4 days.
Mm-hmm.
Not eating after 10.
Okay.
Okay.
And the next morning, I felt so nice.
Oh, that's good.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I felt the differences.
You're already feeling the difference.
Great.
Yeah.
So, I, now I know how bad that was.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Surely.
Surely.
So, I decided not.
Oh, okay.
Okay.
Be, I like getting the track a bit.
How healthy are you going to go to?
Like, you're going to begin with not eating at midnight.
Are you going to start changing your diet completely
to something very healthy?
Or how much are you going to limit yourself there?
I want to eat the things I want to eat.
So that's the joy of my life.
You have?
OK.
You're going to draw the line.
You're not going to restrict anything?
Yeah.
Sure.
OK.
But only the time.
Oh, time, I see.
That's what I do.
Yeah.
I love Jiro.
食生活の見直し
I love pizza.
Does that mean, hold on, does that mean then you
can eat Jiro on Monday, pizza Tuesday,
and then a fuckload of pasta on Wednesday?
And then, I don't know, give me something.
Hamburgers, maybe?
What was that, hamburgers?
Yeah, hamburgers on Thursday.
Tonkatsu.
And then tonkatsu on Friday.
Does that mean that could happen?
Yeah, it's possible.
It's possible.
It's possible.
If your body desires to.
Yes.
OK.
OK, OK, I mean, yeah.
Yeah, it's possible.
Yes.
But, I mean, you know, your body might not want that, right?
It's just, hey, I kind of want to go for a soba
after having a meal yesterday.
Yeah.
Right.
And originally, I'm not that heavy eating guy.
Yeah, OK.
I'm not a guy who loves oily things, or like, originally.
Right, right.
So, but I just, I want to eat delicious things, though.
I mean, good things.
Yes, yes, I understand, sure.
Yeah, yeah, because that's one of the biggest
happiness in our life.
Absolutely.
So I'm going to keep that.
But true, I should keep my eyes on myself
and not going too much, like everyday ramen,
or like every, you know, those things.
So after doing two years of eating
whatever you want, any time you want,
is that the only thing you felt, like the mornings?
You know, is there anything else that changed inside you
where you felt physically nothing?
Well, fat.
OK, you gain a lot of, gain a little bit of, you know.
Yeah, I gain my face.
Sure.
That it?
Mornings heavy.
Sure, OK.
Don't know.
Maybe like my mind, like.
Not as clear.
Yeah.
Foggy.
Yeah, consciousness level.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Sharpness.
It's not like crispy clear.
Always like kind of, kind of blurred.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I get it, I see.
Those.
OK.
In my eyesight, get weaker.
Your eyesight is very good, though.
Don't worry about your eyesight.
Yeah, they are.
Have they gotten bad?
They are.
They're getting bad.
Oh, they're getting bad?
Yeah, worse and worse.
OK.
Probably, but it's not food.
It's probably not food, it's just scarring.
Yeah, I love that.
I see, I see.
But, you know, I feel like your body has retained, you know,
your body, you know.
I don't think it's, I feel like if you do two years of that.
True.
You'd gone much worse.
Yeah.
Two years can do a lot of damage.
So like, yeah.
You're in good shape still.
Yeah, I mean, it's true.
There are somebody that, I don't know, yeah, I understand it.
Right.
But I'm doing terrible.
Like, way, way terrible than I look.
Oh, like the inside?
Yeah.
So if you take the clothes off, it's like.
Oh, no, no, the diet itself.
Oh, the diet itself.
And the habits itself is way worse than I look, I guess.
Right, yeah, absolutely, right, right.
So I need to fix it.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, because, you know, we have like problems, like health issues.
You, Kake-chan, and everybody.
Right, you gotta be careful, right?
Yeah, yep, yep, yep.
食生活の振り返り
And we're not that young anymore.
Absolutely.
So.
Some great New Year's resolution then.
Yes, yes.
That's great.
Yes.
But it is hard.
You know, the nighttime is when you want to.
Yeah.
That craving at nighttime is pretty like.
Yeah.
That thing's heavy.
Yeah.
I understand.
Especially like these two years, I don't even try to stop myself.
Right, it's gonna be, it's a withdrawal, right, sometimes.
It's like drugs, like, you know, like, oh, I want it.
Right, right.
It's gonna be hard.
Good luck, man, good luck.
Thank you.
All right, thanks for sitting here.
Bye-bye.
