パーソナリティーの新年の様子
Welcome to Kevin's English Room Podcast.
Hello.
Happy New Year.
For us, it's the first time recording for 2024.
But this might be out in February or something.
I don't think it's going to be that late.
Let me check when this is going to be out.
It is going to be out on the 13th of January.
So it's still kind of the late New Year season.
How have you been, man?
I mean, I've been doing great and had a happy holiday with my family.
That's good. Back in Chiba?
Yes.
Well, as I told you this morning, I had a kind of weird condition on my throat.
You've been giving them some weird stuff?
Yeah, in this area.
But I've been mentally very healthy.
We, my family and my cousin's family, got together and went on a kind of house.
Okay.
We rent a house and gather on the 31st, New Year's Eve and then New Year's Day.
We spent together and did a little Hanabi.
Oh, sure.
During midwinter.
I like that.
That's great.
And then we ate like a Osechi, mochi, and watch Hakone Ekiden, you know, all the classic stuff.
You know, had a Mikan, you know, Kotatsu and everything like that.
And yeah, had a great time.
Yeah, it's good.
It's really good.
You know, I'm a very like deeply Japanese cultural guy.
パーソナリティーの具合の悪さ
I felt like this is my thing, kind of.
I think it's just like you having a Christmas day and like me having a Shoga today.
It's like, yeah.
You felt the vibe.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Okay.
I love it.
All right.
Do you eat Osechis?
Yeah, I mean, not like, you know, the authentic Osechis.
Really?
Your throat?
Yeah.
Wow.
Yeah.
A lot more frequent than I expected.
Are you okay, man?
Like, what do you think it is?
I don't know.
I have no idea, actually.
That's the scariest shit.
Yeah, yeah.
On that day, like the day we spent the night together at the house, my Osechi was like unstoppable and I couldn't sleep.
And, you know, we slept together, but I was always like sick, and everybody was like, is he all right?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I mean, your family, I wouldn't be surprised if your whole family was like, they all got the flu.
I don't think it's like, I didn't have any fever.
I didn't have anything else but coughs.
And then, yeah, one day I completely lost my voice.
I couldn't make any sound, and that was scary.
But, yeah, that's happening to me.
When that happened, did that hurt?
Like, did your throat hurt when you couldn't make any noise?
How is that possible?
風邪と声帯の問題
Like, how can you not make any noise and not hurt?
I don't know, but I couldn't make any noise.
Like, it's like, kind of, it didn't hurt.
But when I take a hachimitsu, or like, purplish nodoame, then it, like, shimiru.
So I guess something is happening in my throat, and it's still going on.
So, sorry for the audio quality, I guess, for the voices, and sometimes I'll be coughed today.
You sound a bit like, you sound a little old.
Yeah, right, raspy.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Which is something that you like, right?
Yeah, I kind of love it.
So if I don't have any seki, cough, I like it, kind of.
But it doesn't hurt.
It's just when you take something in, that might be, that might shimiru a little bit.
But just, like, right now, just talking doesn't give you pain.
Nothing.
Oh, that's weird.
But seki, you know, it's very tiring if you do all the day and night.
Kind of exhausting.
How long has this been going on?
More than a week.
That's a lot.
Yeah.
You, I mean, not going to see a doctor?
I, you know, doctors were, like, closed on the holidays.
Yeah.
So I, my mother's a kangoshi.
So she kind of, she had, like, a knowledge.
So kind of prepared me some things, and I started taking them.
Ah, that's it.
But, yeah, I think I should go, like, professional doctors of, like, just a little bit.
I mean, you're vocals, right?
Like, what are you going to do if you want to sing?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Right?
But, yeah, mentally, I'm...
Mentally, you're good.
You're all happy New Year's, right?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's good.
Sorry about the cold.
Bad start for New Year's, huh?
Yeah, that's right.
Right.
How about you?
Yeah.
Yeah, great New Year's.
Noah said she, that's great.
What I ate on New Year's was, I think the first thing that I ate, let me see if I remember,
was, first dinner I had was, no, not dinner, the first lunch, the first meal I had, I remember,
was, I think it was a Genmai?
Just like usual.
Yeah, just like usual, Genmai and natto, if I remember correctly.
Then, for dinner, I had some paishito.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
You know.
Right, right, right.
I bought some for this, just so I'm sure.
Right, I had that left, so I bought some hikiniku.
Oh, yeah.
Made some dish with that, like some paishito.
Meat pie thing?
Yeah, meat pie, yeah.
I made that with the oven.
Oh, good.
Nice, nice.
You know the microwave oven?
最近の野球界の動向
Yeah.
Pretty usable, you know?
Right.
I mean, I didn't know that it was so usable until I had to, I was forced to use it.
It's pretty usable, you know?
Yeah.
I feel like you could just, you know, pop in some chicken and season it a little bit,
and then it'll cook pretty well, is what I'm thinking.
Oh, nice.
Just like the normal oven in the U.S.
Wow.
Yeah, you can do that in the U.S., like just pop in chicken and just fuck it up and just go, right?
Wow.
Yeah.
I used the toaster for the pies and things for the kikaku, so I didn't use that oven actually, but yeah.
But yeah, the microwave oven is pretty usable, so it's pretty, yeah.
Is your microwave oven, microwave, microwave oven, is that an expensive one?
No, no, some shitty company.
Yeah?
Yeah.
But still usable?
Still usable, man.
Oh, that's nice.
Still usable, yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Great.
Right.
And you can cook, like, grilled chickens and, like...
Right, grilled chicken, grilled salmon.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You know, every grill that American dishes do, yeah.
That's nice.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Are you having a, I can see you having a healthy days, I guess.
Really?
Yeah, I can see that.
I feel like your face is, like, becoming tighter.
Not really.
Not really?
You know, especially the New Year's season, right?
Yeah.
When you don't have anything to do, what you do is just, you wonder about eating, right?
So, like, I'm not too proud of my diet during the New Year's, yeah.
I am not, I actually am not.
But your face looks, like, became smaller.
Well, thank you for saying that.
Yeah.
I don't, that might, probably not accurate.
Yeah, maybe.
Probably not accurate.
Maybe I just forget your face, but...
Yeah, probably do.
It feels like your face became, like...
Well, thank you for saying that.
Smaller, yeah.
But I feel like I need to have done better.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's nice, nice.
Yeah.
You know, kokorogake, that's great.
Right.
I did, I, you know I hate running.
You know that I hate running, right?
As a cardiovascular.
Right.
But I felt so guilty, I ran, actually.
Oh, you ran?
Yeah, I ran.
You don't have to feel guilty about that.
I'm feeling guilty about overeating.
Ah, I see, I see.
So, I hate, I did running, which is what I usually never like to do.
Ah, really?
ランニングと膝の痛み
I ran, yeah, I ran.
And my knees hurt, yeah.
That's great.
How long did you run?
Like, 40 minutes.
Oh, that's pretty much.
Times three, you know, three days, yeah.
Oh, that's great.
Wow.
My knees hurt.
Yeah.
That's a problem.
Yeah.
Yeah.
We have a football tournament.
Oh, yeah.
Right.
Like, next week or something, right?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Right.
So, we have to run.
Gotta get that fixed then.
Yeah.
Yep.
新年の雰囲気
So, still feeling that New Year's vibe, though, right?
Yeah, yeah, I do.
It's the 8th, still the 8th, so.
Yeah.
Yeah.
All right.
Thanks for listening, guys.
Thank you.
Bye-bye.
