Wow
Wow, I try to sit so my mouth was like
Situation I think so I'm gonna blame it on the jet lag
That was the first thing that came out
I
Welcome to
Yeah
Funnily, you saw it right right? Yeah, maybe it's because I wasn't we haven't been doing the episodes
in a long time
so but
Or jet lag or jet lag of course mostly I like I think
Not my brains problem, yeah
So we're back from New York, yes, we did a lot of things yeah a lot of fun things
Let's talk about that. Yeah
I would say one of the most okay
out of the many
activities, yeah and
foods and things that we did
Broadway Musicalの魅力
The one that was most memorable for me, okay was the
Musical oh the log a musical. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Um, that was very
Highly satisfying Wow, right? I saw wicked wicked
Yeah, what was it? I went to a Kimberly a kin ball
Okay, what's the one and the other one was a beautiful noise you went to yeah, I see
So I went for wicked wicked yes, I'm so on very famous. Yeah green way anything. Yeah
The level of vocal was unbelievable Wow, I've never seen a
Like a such a good singer like I've never seen such a talented strong
emotional
Expressing. Yeah finger there all of the cast were so detailed Wow powerful with
Vocals and that was you know astonished by that
Very easy to catch the words were very clear even though you know, it was on a melody line. Yeah
And it was live. Well, so that was that's one
The orchestra
Orchestra. Yeah, that was amazing. Yeah
I
Didn't know that the orchestra everything was live. Oh, yeah all of these sound effects
Music and the sound effects. It was all done live. Yeah, right like orchestrating the band. Yeah
and um, I don't know if it was that was there for your show, but
mine had a
So there was a there was a stage. Yeah, and underneath the stage. There was like a b1 floor
Yeah
Where all the orchestras and there was like a mid floor like a in between b1 and first floor
Yeah, like a middle middle floor
Where the Shikisha? Yeah, it's like a bit like a hole. No. Yeah, it is. Yeah
Broadway Musicalsの体験
and the Shikisha would
Was Shikiru to both the orchestra and the actors on stage. Yeah, which was pretty cool. Yeah
That was - yeah in three the audience audience Oh true. Yeah audiences reaction. We're so American. Yeah
So Broadway, yeah, you know like every time
Like for example
the shujin ko says something really like
Sukki like like there was a bully right and the shujin ko would say something really
So kitty to the bully. Okay, then the audiences would be like
We're like when yeah when a friend dies, right everyone would go oh
Oh
Some like that the reactions you see on on sitcoms
Like Full House things like that, right?
It was all there. Yeah, like it was actually done. Yeah. Yeah, I didn't know that people actually do it
Like I thought that was just for TV. Okay, but I was kind of surprised that
the actual people would really
be so
You know
They would they would take so much reactions. Yeah. Yeah, that was that was that was a three things. Yeah
Amazed me about what we made. That's great experience. Yeah. Yeah
Wow, they'll meet you like I agree with like oh every point
but especially like the audiences, yeah, like
You know sometimes we can bring those like actors to Japan and they they do some
Like like a musical show in Japan like Broadway in Japan that happens sometimes rarely but sometimes
But you can't bring those audiences to Japan, right? Yeah, completely different reaction. Yeah. Yeah, so that was
That was fun. Yeah. Yeah, that was fun. Like they enjoy
Like so much. Yeah
I've never heard such a loud cheer. Yeah
At the last scene everyone would you know, clap yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah never
I've never been in a situation where was so loud. So right uplifting Wow. Yeah
Yeah, but to me too, it must feel good to be on stage with those audiences, you know, true
So true like if you say something funny and then everybody laughs. Yeah. Yeah, you know
Direct reaction to you right? I'll be so fine. Yeah, even if it's not that funny. Yeah
Japanese audience culture at Broadway shows
Almost even out of kindness, you know, it's rare like it feels like the audience's were making a show. Yeah with the cast
Yeah, yeah. Yeah, it feels like it was like a sort of like a manner. Yeah, like do all that stuff like
Right, that's they were providing. Yeah. Yeah, they're like a joining to the show, right? That's like a whole
Culture, right? Yeah, that was right. It was a culture. Mmm. Absolutely. Yeah, so I hear sometimes that you know
Those foreign like actors or actresses or like singer even in band
Come to Japan and do some shows and there's something or they do they see something or they sing some great lines
and then but like nobody reacts to that lines or like something right and
You know the singers would be like what?
Huh? Am I doing wrong? Huh? Like I'm a sing terrible today. Yeah and feel like so
boring about
The show and that makes sense. Yeah, everybody just
Gives you like just Haku shoe in between the songs. Yeah
Singers like are we doing great? Oh, like yeah, I can imagine that. Yeah. Yeah
When you're used to that right American this yeah. Yeah. Yeah
But it's so natural for the Japanese people, you know, that's
The way they react. Yeah, Japan, right? Yeah, they just listen it and then clap it. Yeah
It's like for Japanese people like they try to be
Quiet. Mm-hmm. No, not like disturb them right that that makes yeah. Yeah, that's how that's how the Japanese people
Yeah, right huge differences, right?
Yeah
Anything else yeah, there's so many things I
Language differences in Broadway shows
Felt about language. Okay. There's like New York
Haven an accent. Yeah, there's yeah, there's there are such thing as an accent. Okay, I can't distinguish it
Okay, I'm not that familiar with it. Okay
Like I went to some coffee shop. Mm-hmm. How do you pronounce coffee by the way coffee, right? I
think I thought I've been thinking that's the like that the
Standard their standard
English, I mean American pronunciation coffee, but they promise like like a core core for it
Like a cool I can't do this but waffle. Yeah, like a coffee
Coffee coffee. Yeah, cool. Yeah, like that. Wafi. Yeah, and I was like, oh
This might be like I
Thought that was just his accent for the first time
I went to the coffee shop, but I went to next like different coffee shop and then the vendor says the same thing
Wafi coffee
Like oh this might be then back in New York accent
Was that person a person of color or no? No, no just like a
pretty
like standard
Like almost every coffee shop coffee shops. They they pronounce it like yeah like that like it was all different
yeah, like they were like
black African African American people or like
How do you say like European Hispanic Hispanic or okay Asian looking even
They they all say like Wafi. What coffee?
How okay is it coffee or is it a little bit different? Yeah, like
Very close. Oh, wow, but it's like more like deep. I guess like Wafi. Yeah, like like
Like I can do this core coffee
Coffee. Yeah, like like that. I
Didn't know that
Yeah
That was funny I found new yeah, they have done you know accent in New York
Fast-Talking Unfriendly Employees
Yeah, and then they spoke really really fast, right? Yeah, the employees right? Yeah
Yeah fast they do like a few days. I couldn't even like catch them like uh-huh. I was like
Excuse me
And they're not nice yeah, yeah, well you get that right
Yeah, okay, how how people are not nice
- Nice.
(laughing)
