Alright, so let's do a really great episode today, you know?
Yeah.
Let's just like...
Because the last episode was a little bit like...
Yesterday was a little bit like...
You know, like what?
I started having conversations with the audience that wasn't there.
What kind of podcast does that?
Like...
What kind of...
You know we're probably still within the 20th top podcast in Japan?
Out of all categories.
Wow.
Not just in the English category, but out of all categories.
We're probably within 20th, I'm sure.
That's... confusing.
That is confusing.
(laughing)
So let's make a real... like a... yeah.
Yeah.
Like a satisfying, you know?
A good...
Yeah.
Enjoyable...
Episode.
Okay.
Okay, let's do it.
Of course.
Alright.
This is from the beginning.
Oh, okay.
Well, you know, usually I've got a message from so many people, but today I've got nothing.
Okay.
I don't hear anything today, you know.
(mumbling)
Oh, yeah.
What?
I'm doing it.
Wait.
Am I doing it wrong?
What are you doing?
Oh, wait.
Oh.
Okay, okay, I got it, I got it, I got it, I got it.
Let me... okay, let me adjust a little bit, okay?
Let me do some adjustments, okay?
Are you touching your... glasses?
Yeah, I'm touching my glasses right now.
Just make adjust... okay.
Why are you...
I'm seeing it, I'm seeing it.
What are you seeing?
This is from... Asahi-san.
Nakamura Asahi-san.
Okay.
That's his full name right there.
That's a privacy matter.
Yeah, right there.
Privacy problem.
Why are you touching your glasses, by the way?
I'm... oh, I got the message.
Okay.
(speaking Japanese)
Wow.
(speaking Japanese)
So you are reading it.
(speaking Japanese)
Like a Conan-kun.
Like a Conan-kun.
Yeah.
Yeah.
By the way, you don't need the "ah" there.
Right.
(laughing)
Like a Conan-kun.
Like a Conan-kun.
Okay.
(speaking Japanese)
Why are you still touching?
Thank you.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Thank you, of course, for the...
Why are you still touching your glasses?
Are you still adjusting?
I'm trying to read.
Yeah, I'm still trying to read here.
Yeah, I'm still adjusting.
Nobody wants to eat a pecha-pecha buns, desu ne?
Of course.
Of course.
(speaking Japanese)
03:14
All right!
Wow, thank you.
Through the glasses, baby.
So you've got a... what?
Yeah, through the glasses.
I got the message through the glasses.
(speaking Japanese)
Like screen.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Like a Conan-kun, right?
Like a Conan-kun.
Yeah.
Like a Conan-kun.
You know what the American Garu is?
Huh?
Is that your...
Yeah, you go with that.
Your image of American Garu.
What are you talking about?
Oh, yeah, let's go with that.
Can you tell me?
What?
Can you tell me what you want to do?
No.
No?
(laughing)
Well, like, at least kind of like...
What are you talking about?
At least give me a hint, you know?
Of, like, what you want to do after Corona?
Well, honestly...
Yeah?
Um...
Oh, yeah.
Let me...
Nice.
Let me talk about...
I like that.
You know what?
You're doing a good job.
Yeah?
You know what?
Um...
Party.
Party?
Party.
You want to do a party?
Some, you know...
You know what?
Some party, like crazy...
Oh, crazy party?
Pizza party.
Pizza party, okay.
Drinks.
Oh, yeah.
Party, you know.
Party, right?
Dancing to the Bruno Mars or Justin Bieber.
Oh, yeah.
Justin Bieber.
Oh, yeah?
That's nice.
That's what we do in California.
Oh.
California.
Yeah.
You must be...
That must be fun, you know?
Uh-huh.
That must be fun.
What about you, Jessica?
Well, you know...
I don't know.
Like...
Like, you know, whatever.
Like, Jake...
Jake?
Has been, like, texting me.
Oh, really?
So, like, that's all...
Like, you know.
Like, I don't know.
Like, I remember Jake going out with this new girl.
Wow.
Right?
Who is that?
I think her name's, like, I don't know.
Well, like...
Like, Britney, I think.
Britney?
Yeah.
That new girl, Britney.
Wow.
She was, like, all over Jake.
Wow.
So, I was, like, I wanted to think about, like, what I want to do after Corona.
Yeah.
But, like, like, ill.
Like, Britney and Jake was, like...
Yeah.
Like, having fun.
And now I'm not fun, right?
Mm-hmm.
That's, like...
Yeah.
Like, that is so gross, you know?
Like, I can't believe it.
Like, wow.
Mm-hmm.
What is he doing, right?
Like, I want to have fun.
Yeah, you want to have fun, yeah?
Like, I want to enjoy after Corona.
Yeah, you want to.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Is that how they speak like that?
No, no, no, no.
No?
06:00
That's not how...
I don't think so.
But that's, like, a...
You know...
I used to do that when I was back in the U.S., like, to make fun of...
Oh, okay, okay.
That's how you make fun of them.
Uh-huh.
Like, the young kind of blonde girls.
Yes, yes.
Like, yeah.
This is not...
It's not nearly close, though.
Yeah.
I'm not doing a good job.
Oh, really?
No, there's...
Yeah, there's people that does it way better than I do.
Okay, okay, okay.
Yeah.
All right.
But it was funny, like, for me.
Oh, thank you.
It seems like a young...
Yeah.
Like, high school musical...
Yeah.
Bad, like, bitch character, right?
Yeah, like Jessica or Britney.
Yeah, yeah.
So there was...
Yeah.
Yeah.
So what do you really want to do after corona?
After, you know, if that corona ends?
After corona?
Yeah.
Uh, I want to...
Well, in reality, I really want to have party, kind of...
Okay.
Gather together.
Oh, yeah.
All friends.
Oh, yeah.
Mm-hmm.
And hopefully, like, eat together, drink together, play some music, sing together, and play some
games, maybe.
Yeah, that's fun.
You know, we've been not doing this.
Yeah.
Out over a year.
Mm-hmm.
Right?
That's pretty crazy, you know?
So that's what I want to do.
For me, I want to go to Korea.
Korea?
Yeah.
I've been wanting to go to Korea for more than a year, right?
I did...
I was planning a trip to Korea, but it got canceled because of the airline.
Mm-hmm.
Right?
They canceled the flight.
Oh.
The airline did.
So we were forced to, like, not go.
So ever since...
Ever since then, I've been wanting to go to Korea.
Mm-hmm.
So, yeah, I want to go to Korea.
True.
Yeah.
Can you go right now?
Korea?
I...
But, like, quarantine, right?
I think you need to quarantine yourself, I think, for seven days.
Oh.
No?
Yes?
Yeah.
For two weeks, maybe?
Yeah.
That's too long for me.
Yeah.
I need to be more mobile, so I can't be fixed for two weeks or things like that.
That's too much.
Mm-hmm.
So I can't do that.
That's not realistic.
Mm-hmm.
So, you know, if the quarantine's not there, well, maybe, but, like, I don't know if it's
safe or not, you know?
Right.
So...
Right.
Korea.
So...
That's nice.
Right.
Yeah, I want to have, like, trip around.
Right.
Mm-hmm.
I want to...
Also, I have one thing that I want to do is hitchhiking.
Oh, yeah?
Yeah.
I did when I was a college student with my friend.
It was so fun.
Mm-hmm.
And I had a dream, like, two days ago about me and the guy hitchhiking together.
Oh, that's great.
I had a dream, and it was so fun.
Oh, yeah.
That dream was so fun.
Uh-huh.
And I start to think that I...like, it would be so amazing that if we could do that again.
09:06
Uh-huh.
But, you know, now we can't.
Wow.
That sounds like really, like, an enjoyable life, you know?
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
Those experiences are, like, you going to, like, Mujinto...
Yeah.
...and doing stuff like that.
Uh-huh.
Like, a memory that's going to last for, like, a really, like, lifetime, you know?
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
Yeah.
How long were you on hitchhiking last time?
Last time, it was, like, three days.
Okay.
I think.
It was three days.
In all hitchhiking?
Yes.
And you made it?
Yes.
There and back?
Yes.
Did you set a goal of, like, where you want to go?
It was Osaka.
Okay.
Was the goal.
Uh-huh.
And the guy with me, he was born in Nagoya.
Mm-hmm.
So we had a goal that we try to visit his house.
Okay.
You know?
Okay.
And we did it.
And how many, like, transfers did you do?
Transfers?
Like, how many different cars were you getting?
Okay.
Let me.
One, two.
Like, more than, like, almost 10.
About 10.
That's a lot.
10 cars.
10.
How many did you get to Nagoya?
To Osaka.
To Osaka.
And to Nagoya and to Tokyo.
And back here.
Yeah.
Oh, the whole trip was, like, more than 10.
Yes.
Okay.
Got it.
But, yeah, about 10.
Ah.
Gentle, kind people helped us.
Is there, like, some people that you still are in contact with?
No.
Oh.
We hadn't, like, exchanged our contacts.
Uh-huh.
So I don't have any, you know, like, been texting each other.
Uh-huh.
But I still remember those people.
Ah.
Of course.
That's nice.
Yeah.
What was the most, like, fun part about the HID?
The, we've got a truck driver.
Oh, yeah?
Who was from African country or Arabian country.
Uh-huh.
And he was kind of Katakota Japanese.
Okay.
And I don't know if I can say this, but in a truck in a canyon, we had two seats.
Oh, yeah?
But we were three.
I mean, me and my friend and that driver.
Uh-huh.
So we were, like, packed.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
In two seats.
Uh-huh.
And we were driving all through the night with that guy.
Oh, yeah.
Katakota Nihongo.
Uh-huh.
And he talked about his life, that he was born in Arabian country and came to Japan
and kind of, you know, had a kind of so tough life.
Uh-huh.
And he's now doing this job and he's having a happy life and showed me his kids pictures
and it was so nice.
Yeah, that's so sweet.
12:00
That's so nice.
Yeah.
And it was kind of midnight and we were on that, like, Kousoku Doro.
Right.
Like, it was kind of like a movie.
Yeah, it is like a movie.
Wow.
That is awesome.
That's amazing.
You know.
It was fun.
And there were so many sweet people.
Uh-huh.
Like, gentle people.
Right, right, right, right.
So I decided that I, in the future, if I find someone who asks to hitchhike, like young
guys.
Like you would stop?
Yes.
I would definitely stop and help them.
That is awesome.
That is amazing.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'd do that.
Good to hear.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
Well, thanks for listening, guys.
