Welcome to Kevin's English Room Podcast!
Woooo!
Yay!
That was a balloon, right? That was a balloon.
Imitation of a balloon, I can tell.
No.
Or not. Okay, let's go.
No, it was a...
Something else, right?
Yeah.
Yeah, I knew that.
Okay.
We got a balloon message from Kaneko-san.
Oh yeah!
Yeah.
Balloon message, right.
You know what?
I saw these things floating in the sky, in the balloon, and there's like paper coming down.
Departments, right?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
We don't see that much often, but...
Right, but...
Right, I know where you're talking from.
Yeah, I've got the message from Kaneko-san.
Right.
Thank you.
She's got budgets.
Yeah.
Uh...

Hmm.
Thank you for the message.
Thank you Kanako-san.
Well, um.
It's like, kind of funny.
That is kind of funny.
Like you're, someone suddenly trying to kill you, right?
That fear of like, don't Kake-chan have a similar kind of taste?
Yeah, well actually I can, like I do understand a little bit.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You resonate with that.
Yeah, like when I'm walking through that crowded city, I think about, yeah, how to escape from the killer inside.
That's exactly the same then.
Yeah, right.
So where does that come from?
I don't know.
Just like, what, why do you think you do that?
I don't know, it just comes naturally.
Like, sometimes at night I'm staying alone and sometimes I feel worried about my grandma.
03:03
Why?
What if she, is she alright?
Mm-hmm.
Like health, in terms of health, right?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Maybe she's in danger.
Wow.
Of course she's fine.
Right, completely fine.
Right.
Yeah, but I sometimes feel that and try to like text her.
Oh, wow.
Yeah, so I do understand Kanako-san, I do understand you.
So do you think that that comes from like, your, I don't know where.
You're not a shinpai-shou, are you?
Well, actually I am.
You are?
Yeah.
Really?
Yeah.
But, really?
Tell me, let me tell the truth.
Mm-hmm.
That I am like very, very shinpai-shou.
Really?
So, I have to be like careless person, because if I do worry about like everything, I cannot
live, you know, so I have to be like, try to, try to, don't care about everything, you
know?
Wow.
So that really resonates with the story that happened right now.
So, like she's tired from worrying about, and you have the same experience, and you
overcome that by not caring, trying to be a careless guy.
Right.
So, I'm assuming you had once in your life this stage where you got tired of worrying
so much.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Like, it's a little bit funny, but when I was an elementary school student, I've been
like, I was really like, like, like really, really like careful and kind of really too
strict guy.
Mm-hmm.
And little like kids police.
Okay, okay.
And worry about anything, and try to fix everything, literally everything.
Okay.
Not my thing, but everyone's behavior.
Got it.
Got it.
The words and everything.
Got it.
And I got tired.
Mm-hmm.
And, you know, it didn't make my relationship like went well, you know.
Okay.
Because I said too much.
Okay.
And I was like, like kind of police or teacher.
No, you shouldn't do that.
Oh, you should be like this.
And, you know, I was too, like, I was stressed, and everyone was stressed.
Right.
So, I thought that I had to change that, you know, the mind.
Okay.
But, you know, it comes naturally, and I naturally, like something makes me to think about all
these things.
Mm-hmm.
So, what I found was ignore.
06:02
Ignore all these worries and, yeah, things.
It was really kind of hard to ignore the beginning.
Ah.
But now I am used to ignore all these things.
Uh-huh.
If you were right now in your life, and if you were to unleash that worry, that perfectionism,
if you unleash that, what are some of the things that you might, that might turn you
on, that might push some of the buttons?
What are some of the examples in your life that you're seeing right now that you're intentionally
ignoring?
Okay.
Cleaning up my room.
Okay.
You know, I actually want to, you know, I'm ignoring so many things.
I have to clean and type.
Like the small things that are out there.
Yeah.
Like.
That are not in position.
Yeah.
Okay.
Things like that.
Like dust?
Yeah, like dust and things like that.
But, you know, this is my room, so I can kind of control my thing.
Okay.
So there's not many things that I want to fix.
Okay.
There's not many, not many things that I'm ignoring.
Uh-huh.
But, um.
So like if you were in Kake-chan's house, if you were to unleash that true nature of yours.
Yeah.
You'd be like, okay, this, we need to like.
Right.
The kitchen's a little bit dirty, so we need to fix that up.
Yeah.
That's actually happening.
I've seen, I've seen his kitchen a little bit dirty.
True.
When I was an elementary school student and go to his house and I would be like, okay,
okay, guys.
Let's just scream before we start.
Uh-huh.
Uh-huh.
Or like.
Yeah.
But, you know, I think it's not really good things, thing to ignore your real feelings.
Uh-huh.
Makes you like a little bit strange.
Uh-huh.
Like not, like natural state, you know.
Uh-huh.
So.
Ignore all the things too much is not the very best way though.
Uh-huh.
Uh-huh.
Uh-huh.
But also, you know, unleashing it to the point that it gives you stress is also unhealthy.
Uh-huh.
Finding that balance is really important you're saying.
And also a little arrogance.
Arrogance.
09:00
Arrogance, you know, pointing out all the other people's behavior.
I understand.
You know, that's not good thing and I don't want to be someone like that.
Uh-huh.
So, have to make balance and try to ignore things.
I understand.
You know.
That's what I try to do.
But now I'm kind of used to it.
So, I don't try nothing right now.
Okay.
It's a kind of natural state.
Ah.
Yeah.
For me, it's a grow, getting better for me.
Got it.
Got it.
Got it.
Compared to that, me when I was in elementary school.
Uh-huh.
So, I forgot her name.
Kanako-san.
Kanako-san.
So, the advice for Kanako-san would be to try to ignore them.
Yeah.
Try to force yourself to.
It's hard though.
Right.
At first, right?
At first, it's hard.
But if it's giving you that stress, maybe just let it go and just not worry.
Yeah.
I'm sure it's hard though.
But the original question was if my self-conversation verbally, verbal self-conversation is related
to being worried, I would say I don't think it comes from worrying.
Uh-huh.
I don't worry that much.
I don't think so.
It happens.
The things that I'm verbally saying out loud are the things that are just something, I
don't know, it's something that's exciting, something that's funny, something that's big,
impactful, like emotionally impactful, I guess, would be the things that would...
Not only the things that I mean...
Right.
Some of the things that I worry about that may come out as a verbal self-blabbering,
but it's not limited to that.
Okay.
It's just things that are memorable, I guess.
Things that are just running through my mind, just flashbacking.
Things that are just flashbacking in my mind are the things that I'm blabbing about.
In your case, it's flashing back, right?
Right, right, right.
You were speaking about what you experienced before.
Exactly.
So you're not worrying about the future.
Right.
Sometimes I blabber about the things that are going to happen in the future.
If I were to do a host, if I were to do a job as a host, I would just try to render
that through my mind and then rehearse that, do an imaginary rehearsal.
That would come out as a verbal blabbering, but I don't think that's motivated by worries.
12:03
It's more like it's just in my head and I'm just practicing.
Okay.
Then is it fun for you, like making, like rehearsing?
Well, it's just a natural act of mine.
Okay.
I don't, it's not, I wouldn't say I'm having fun while I'm doing this.
It just comes out naturally.
Wow.
Right.
I've never seen you speaking out loud alone, but I'm pretty sure that you are a little
bit like smiling.
I can easily imagine that you're speaking with a little smile on your face.
So I thought you are having fun at least.
Not necessarily.
I'm not necessarily smiling though.
It's sometimes like a serious kind of tone.
Yeah.
I'm saying something serious sometimes.
That's scary.
Oh really?
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
But it's, but you know, in hindsight it's more on the fun kind of thing, but like sometimes,
right.
It's not limited to that.
There's sometimes that are like serious tone.
Serious tone.
So blabbering.
So.
Okay.
Yeah.
Okay.
So thanks for the question.
Kanako-san.
Yep.
Arigatou gozaimasu.
