It has been exactly one month since the release of Demon Slayer, Infinity Castle, The Return of Akasa.
As of August 11th, the film has earned over 22 billion yen at the box office, ranking 6th in Japan's all-time box office rankings.
I went to see it myself, and I'm glad I did.
When Tanjiro and his companions first stepped into the Infinity Castle, the immersion was incredible, and the fight with Akasa was absolutely breathtaking.

Kimetsu no Yaiba, also known as Demon Slayer, has once again taken Japan by storm.
The latest movie, released on July 18th, has earned over 22 billion yen in just a month.
Even more impressively, it crossed the 10 billion yen mark in only 8 days, making it the fastest film in Japanese history to reach that milestone.
This latest film is structured into three parts, with the first chapter titled The Return of Akasa.
In this segment, the mighty demon Akasa reappears.
The story transports viewers into the mysterious Infinity Castle where fierce battles unfold between demon slayers and powerful demons.

In a dramatic showdown, Tanjiro and Giyu face Akasa.
At first, Akasa completely overwhelms them.
But then, Tanjiro starts thinking, how can we defeat him?
That moment of strategy becomes a turning point.
The film also explores Akasa's tragic past, revealing why he despises the weak, a backstory that is sure to move audiences.
Demon Slayer is written by Koyoharu Gotouge.
The main character, Tanjiro Kamado, joins the Demon Slayer Corps to turn his sister Nezuko back into a human after she's transformed into a demon.
The anime adaptation has already covered six arcs.

OK, one of the moments that left the biggest impression on me in the Demon Slayer movie was when Tanjiro realized the transparent world, and with just a single strike, cut off Akaza's head.

I kept wondering, how could he remain calm and keep thinking, even when he was pushed to the absolute limit?
Through Akaza's remark about defined fighting spirit, his conversation with Inosuke, and his flashback of his father, Tanjiro was able to reach the transparent world.
I thought that was truly incredible.
What amazed me even more was that he grasped the technique in just one attempt.
Watching it, I realized it was his daily training that allowed him to execute it so quickly.
Another thing that stayed with me was understanding why Akaza despises the weak so much.
It reminded me that the reason lay in his early childhood experiences.
He met Koyuki and her father Keizo, and they lived peaceful days, supporting each other.
But one day, the people from a nearby swordsmanship dojo poisoned them, taking their lives.
From Akaza's perspective, I could really understand how deeply sad that must have been and why he would want revenge.
I'm not sure how much longer the Demon Slayer movie will be in theaters, but I really think it's worth watching.
As for me, I'd like to see it one or two more times.
OK, another thing.
As I mentioned at the beginning, the reason I decided to cover Japanese topics in English is because it's something I personally wanted.
With English-language newspapers, the focus is often on overseas news, and without prior knowledge, I sometimes find it hard to really enjoy reading them.
That's why I feel it's much more fun and engaging to work on topics I'm already familiar with in English, and I find it easier to remember the vocabulary and expressions too.
