字幕機能についての言及
Welcome to Kevin's English Room Podcast.
Hello.
So in the last episode, the message was like,
Hey, I enjoyed the podcast with all the 字幕 and everything.
You read it. You don't remember?
Oh, did I?
Yeah, the message said it.
The funny titling and the 字幕 makes it fun to listen to.
Yeah.
We know that on Spotify, there's like this 字幕機能 by AI, right?
And it recognized both English and Japanese and it was cool.
That's great.
Yeah. And Apple, Apple Podcast doesn't have it yet, right?
Remember, like, there was like, oh, hey, one of the Apple person was like,
they contacted us, like, hey, we should get our transcribing features soon for the Japanese
podcast as well.
Right.
Well, let's check if Apple has the 字幕機能.
Yeah.
Let's check.
Right.
Let's check if they lived up to the words.
Right.
Yeah. Think about that.
Those language subtitles or anything like that.
AI things.
It's always like, basically, it's always one language.
Yeah.
You can do like two languages at the same time.
They can like.
Absolutely.
Languages in it.
So.
Absolutely.
Yeah. If you can do that, that's great.
So here's the latest episode.
Let's play it.
Let's see if the 字幕機能 is there.
No, it is not.
Okay.
All right.
So no.
We do not have it.
Not yet.
Not yet.
Hopefully soon.
Yeah.
Maybe they're working on it.
Maybe they're working on it.
Maybe not.
But Spotify has it though.
Yeah.
Spotify has the 字幕機能.
That's correct.
Yeah.
And YouTube has it.
The same thing.
YouTube. Yeah. YouTube has always had it for the videos.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
So.
So.
Apple.
Apple. Come on.
Yeah.
Yeah. When was that?
It's about like a half a year ago or something.
Yeah.
Yeah.
日本市場の重要性の低下
But you know, another thing that I feel at the same time is that Japan is getting less and less
important for the global market, you know?
Yeah.
We used to be on like one of the first countries to get those products and services,
but now it's just, oh, Japan, we'll just do it when we're available.
Yeah.
So many of the services, Japan can't use it.
Yeah.
It's just, you know, EU, America, of course, EU, Australia,
um, India, those countries get it.
Yeah.
Like Japan, we're starting to get more and more not important to like the global market.
And that's kind of sad.
Yeah. It's sad.
It's kind of sad for me.
It is sad.
Yeah.
True.
We used to have like some kind of strongest domestic services instead.
Yeah. Right.
Yeah.
Just like garakke or like TV shows, you know, so that we don't need to
Right.
You know, those
rely on international products, right?
But now we kind of, you know, have no like strongest, strongest
Right.
domestic services and kind of, you know, opening eyes to the global things in it.
Right.
Yeah.
Right.
True.
Hmm.
What I, um, what I'm very sad at is, um, in many applications.
Yes.
For example, like, um, uh, film, like a short video making or like any,
any application that makes or creates videos.
Okay.
And then you need to not only videos, but pictures.
Basically you need to, um, put your subtitles or sentences or words in any applications.
Okay.
Um, recently I see many cases that they don't have proper Japanese fonto.
Ah.
Like especially kanjis.
Yeah.
It's different from that one that we prop, properly have like, for example, like,
I think it's like, we, it's just, they just use similar kanjis from Chinese.
Hmm.
So it's like mixed.
Yeah.
Ah, I see.
Yeah. And I, every time I see those, I feel, oh, so sad.
Yeah. It's like, it's like half Chinese.
Yeah.
Or like, you don't even know if it's Chinese, but like, it's like,
it's some character that we don't know.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, you can still understand it's very close, but you know.
It's not the exact same.
Yeah.
And I understand Japanese are very difficult to call, you know, we've got many kanjis.
日本企業の国際競争力の低下
Hmm.
So I understand for those free applications, it's difficult for them to, you know, collect everything.
But.
Yeah.
Yeah. It's kind of sad.
Every time I see that.
It's kind of sad.
Yeah.
So hopefully there would be like strong domestic.
You know.
Product.
Yeah. Products or something that, you know.
That internationally would be a hit, you know, that'd be, that'd be great.
Right. Right.
Great.
Yeah.
How's a, how's Sony doing?
No.
But still, still big company, you know.
Very big.
Yeah.
Like gaming's big, PlayStation's globally big.
Right.
For like the camera shit, Sony's big.
But not anymore with the smartphones, right?
We never hear Sony smartphones anymore.
True.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Right.
Yeah. Oh, with the TVs, right?
Sony's used to be big on TVs, right?
Oh.
But now like LG.
Yeah.
Like the Korean companies are pretty big, right?
Right now.
Samsung, LG, you know.
Right.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
You know, you've seen the, um, um, forget the name of the movie,
but the story about man who kind of invented the internet.
Oh, uh, uh, forget the name.
Oh, forget the name.
You're talking about?
But kind of, it's like government tried to.
Say.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Him and his company.
And so that, you know, that company didn't grow as it should be.
And then, then while Japan doing that, like Apple was like, you know, Google's and grow up.
And just now they'd.
Yeah.
They, um, you know.
They took over the world.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah.
I forget the name, but yeah.
I think about that.
Yeah.
It's so, you know, sad.
It is sad.
Like.
It is sad.
We could have won the internet game, right?
Japan could have won.
We have, we could have Apple in Japan.
Right.
We could have, we could have had it.
No work.
That's so sad.
It's so sad.
Shame of that.
Yeah.
Jiken.
Right.
Yeah.
Winnie.
Yeah.
We need it.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Part of that.
Right.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Sad episode.
So sad.
All right.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's, uh, let's, uh, let's, uh, let's, uh, let's just, uh, be, be as happy as possible.
Yeah.
That's how, that's how, uh, the episode.
Right.
Let's try to be happy.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Thanks for listening guys.
Thank you.
Bye.
