Welcome to Kevin's English Room Podcast.
I have a weekly Donald Trump news.
Thank you.
I love that.
As an entertainment.
Yeah, me too man.
It's pure entertainment.
Yeah, pure entertainment.
Like the real, what do you call that, like realdocument, like a, what, like a リアルなんたらショー。
Oh, you're talking about a reality TV show?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, that's right.
The real reality show.
He's a living legend, right?
Yeah, living legend.
So America made a new passport.
New passport?
New design.
Oh, I see.
Okay.
New design, a passport, and not surprisingly,Trump put his face on the passport.
Okay, yeah.
Not surprisingly.
Not surprisingly, right?
Not very, let me show you the design.
But it's not the design though I want to talk toyou about.
But I'll show you the design.
Yeah, yeah.
Well, first of all, that itself is crazy enough.
Putting your face on the passport.
Right here, this is the new passport.
You have Mr. Donald Trump, you know, juststanding, putting his hand on a desk, you
know.
Oh.
Yeah.
This is like, yeah.
Okay.
Go ahead.
No, is it like the, is it the inside or is it?
I don't know.
I think, yeah, maybe it's the inside.
Oh, you open it and you have.
Yeah, if you open it and yeah, you got a pagehere, two pages of your, right, the Trump
design.
That's right.
That's right.
I think this is the founding fathers, maybe thefirst people that created the United States,
I think.
And yeah.
And then Trump himself is bigger, way bigger thanthose people.
Way bigger than any one of them.
Oh, wow.
That's right.
And 250 is a 250 year anniversary for the UnitedStates of America.
This year, right?
Yeah.
So yeah, that's why it's like an anniversarypassport design.
I see.
That's right.
So the thing, but however, the thing that's talkedabout most in social media is not the
design.
Okay.
It is the message.
Oh, okay.
That's written on the, the Trump passport.
Okay.
Right.
It says, welcome, but be good.
Welcome to America, but be good.
Like be good as in like, don't do anything bad.
Okay.
Okay.
Don't break the law.
Okay.
However, if you think about it, passports aregiven to United States citizens traveling
outside of the United States.
Yeah.
This message is meant for people internationallycoming into Japan.
To the United States.
Sorry.
Yeah.
To the United States.
So those people don't get to have the chance tolook at the design because they're never
03:05
be issued a United States passport.
Wow.
Makes no sense at all.
So people are like, does he know what passportsare?
Does Trump know how this works?
Yeah.
He's always one of those like visa things, likeESTA or one of those.
Right.
Or flight tickets or things like that.
Yeah.
It makes sense if it's like a, like a, like a visathing.
Yeah.
That's the thing.
It makes sense.
Yeah.
True.
That's pretty funny.
That's funny.
That's pretty funny.
Right.
I like his, his nonsenseness like that.
Oh yeah.
Like stupidness.
I understand, man.
I understand.
Very...
He's an entertainer.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Like a...
Charming.
I would say.
Yeah.
Right.
Right.
Right.
I don't know.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's very funny because I'm living in Japan.
I'm a Japanese guy.
Looking out from the outside.
Yeah.
That's why I can laugh about things like this.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Also, there was another topic several weeks ago onTrump Mobile.
Oh, they have that?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So Trump made like a cell phone, made a, made asmartphone.
Okay.
Right.
Oh, not like a, the connection company, but like amobile phone.
Yeah.
I think, I'm not sure about that.
Maybe he made a, like a carrier.
Okay.
Okay.
But what's being talked about is the actual phone.
Okay.
Okay.
Like a device.
So when he first like, you know, publicized theidea, it was like the Trump phone, the
all American made Trump phone.
Yeah.
Okay.
Right.
All the parts are going to be built in America.
Yeah.
So like, if you buy this phone, you'll besupporting America and like the manufacturer
industry.
And he wanted it to be like that, you know, howthe data is all taken, you know, from
China and just like that and you know, all thatstuff.
Understandable.
Right.
I mean, not, well, I mean, imaginable.
Imaginable.
Right.
Right.
So, and it turns out the production became verylate, you know, people didn't get their
phone on time.
And then even if you ask the company, whoever'smaking the phones, like doesn't really answer
that much.
But finally, after several months of delay, thephone came.
Good.
Finally.
Right.
Finally.
And then there was a reviewer, like a techreviewer, right, that decided to open the
phone to like, you know, to have a deeper look athow the phones are made, you know,
06:02
supposedly because they're all made in the UnitedStates and found out that every single
one of the parts and the models and like the katais exactly the same as a Chinese phone.
I think it was like a Huawei or something.
I forgot what it was, but it was a Chinese model,Chinese company phone.
And wow.
After that, they checked the website again, right?
And so several months ago it was all American madeand now it was changed to American design.
Wow.
It's yeah.
It's funny.
It is very funny.
It's like, it's like you're a middle schooler andjust try to do some business and try to
run a company and, oh, we need this, we have tobuy at the supermarket.
Wow.
That's very, very entertaining, right?
Right.
How do you, how do you feel about that?
Because you're, you know, growing up in America, you're pretty funny, man, like pretty happy
to be in Japan, you know?
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
But you know, on the other hand, like on a day today basis, yeah, it doesn't really
affect your life that much, you know?
So I don't know.
These things, they're not a major issue.
Yeah, true.
You know, like there are more important papersthan these like funny things, right?
Yeah, right, right, right.
Right, right, right, right.
But you know, there are, there is that, you know, factor of like Trump started the war
with Iran and like the oil prices, all that.
Right, that's there too.
But like, if you look at all these like Trumpmobile and the passport thing, it's not a
major issue.
It's not like, you know, it's just, it's funny.
Right.
Yeah, so weekly Trump update.
Thank you very much.
I love this.
Yes.
I love this section.
Yeah.
Thank you.
All right.
Thanks for sitting guys.
Thank you.
Bye bye.
Well, I just hope, I just simply hope we cancontinue this section forever.
Peacefully.
Peacefully.
Right, right, right.
Honestly.
Hopefully.
Yeah.
Hopefully.
