Welcome to ケビン英語で雑談?Kevin’s English Room Podcast.
Hello.
Amazon Musicの新しいシステム
Update on what's going to happen to Amazon Music.
So, I'm sure that before this episode, I will make an announcement to sneak in an episode.
But, there's going to be two episodes, two, not episodes, two shows existing on Amazon Music.
One is going to be the archived version.
The ケビン英語で雑談?Kevin’s English Room Podcast Plus, which will not be uploaded after June 30th.
And then, there's going to be a different show that's going to be exactly the same as what you'll find on other platforms.
Kevin's English Room Podcast.
And it continuously will be uploaded on that one.
So, if you're subscribed, you're going to have to subscribe to a new one.
If you want updates on the episodes.
So, that's that.
There you go.
I see. So, it's not attached.
It's going to be two different shows.
There will be two different shows, yes.
I see.
Yep, that's that.
And for Spotify, I remember I said there's going to be videos available.
So, I tried it.
What happened was, right now, what we're doing is we're doing a silence cutting on every episode.
So, you're not going to hear that much silence there.
However, the software we're using to cut the silence does not work on videos.
So, if we upload a video on Spotify, then the audio version is going to be the same as what it is for the video.
Which means it's not going to be silence cut.
So, am I going to take the video or am I going to take the silence cut?
I decided to go for the silence cut.
So, no videos.
Okay.
Yep.
I see.
Yet.
Yet.
Yeah.
Okay.
Is it, like, fixed about Amazon so far?
Yeah, that's what we've communicated with Amazon.
They're like, this is how we're going to go.
I don't think there's going to be – they didn't really imply any room for different options, it felt like.
So, yeah, that's how it's going to go.
Okay.
All right.
But for those who are listening through or on Amazon Music, they're going to continuously be able to listen to this podcast.
Yes.
Absolutely.
They have to, like, resubscribe to the new –
Yes, that's right.
That's what's going to happen.
I see.
Yep.
I see.
Yep.
Fresh start.
Fresh start, yeah.
エピソードの取り扱い
Fresh start, fresh start.
You can listen to the past episode as well.
The new show that's going to be created on Amazon Music will have all the past episodes as well.
Oh, really?
Yes.
Oh, without pluses?
Without the pluses.
Oh, I see.
Yeah.
So if you go to, like, Amazon Podcast Plus, you're going to hear the plus version and then attached the usual version?
Yes.
Archived, like, three years?
Yes.
Oh, okay.
You're going to listen to the same episodes but without pluses?
Yes.
That's what's going to happen.
Okay.
Yes.
Nice.
Yep.
That's the only way.
I mean, okay.
Yeah.
Can't really do anything about it.
That was what they said to do.
So, yep, that's what's going to happen.
But it's okay.
It's okay.
Well, yeah, it's okay.
Fresh start.
Fresh start, new start.
It's not going to be, like, the first episode because it's already, like...
Oh, yeah.
Right.
That's right.
Various episodes are there.
That's right.
It's not going to be, like, fresh new, the first new one.
Yes.
That's exactly right.
Okay.
Right.
Right.
Right.
Right.
I see.
Good update.
Yeah.
Well, thank you.
Thank you for the conversation with the big company.
Of course.
Of course.
I see.
Is the person in charge the same as we did the morning before?
Oh, I didn't directly speak to Amazon.
Oh, I see.
It was our manager that spoke with Amazon.
Yeah.
So it was an indirect communication.
I see.
Yeah.
I don't know who's taking care of it.
But remember we made a phone call with them?
You were video calling them?
Yeah.
I think it's them.
Yeah.
I think it's them.
Okay.
Yeah.
I see.
Okay.
No problem.
Yeah.
That's right.
Yeah.
Anything new for you, man?
I think I have something to say, but I forget.
I forget.
You're almost leaving, right?
Yeah.
I don't know how much you're allowed to say on camera, but...
Yeah, tomorrow.
You're leaving tomorrow?
Oh, shit.
Are you allowed to say where or is that a...
You can't disclose that?
I didn't sign up for anything.
You're not allowed to say?
Yeah.
I mean, yeah.
Okay.
Well, you're leaving.
Yeah, I'm leaving.
Somewhere.
Not in Japan.
Yeah.
I'm excited.
You're excited, right?
Yeah.
Yes, yes.
Right, right, right.
Yeah.
There's really not much you can say other than you're excited if you can't say where to go,
right?
Yeah.
When is this going to be uploaded?
This episode?
Sure.
It's going to be uploaded July...
Hold on.
It's going to be uploaded July 18th.
July 18th.
July 18th.
Oh.
So, you'll be back.
Yeah.
By then.
Oh, then I can say anything.
You can say anything?
Yeah.
Talk to me about it.
Yeah.
Can I?
Yeah, it's going to be uploaded July 18th.
I'll make sure that this will be uploaded July 18th.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Sure.
Do you think if I speak anything and cause any troubles on any signs or any places, do
you think so?
Let's play it safe then.
Let's play it safe.
Okay, okay.
Let's play it safe.
And just let that be a surprise then.
In the future, right?
Yeah.
I guess it's still July 18th.
It's still not...
I guess we're not in the safe zone completely then.
Yeah.
Maybe a month later then you can talk about it.
Yeah, sure.
If it's completely out to everybody, like on every platform.
Yeah.
You want to keep that safe?
Yeah.
Let's do that then.
Yeah, okay.
Yeah, good call.
Yeah.
Well, I mean, I'm completely alright to say anything, like everything.
It's not like any...
It's up to YouTube, right?
Up to YouTube.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I understand.
But, yeah.
家族旅行の計画
It's a family trip, you know, with my parents and my younger brother.
That's exciting.
It's been a while that we do this kind of family trip.
Sure, that is exciting.
We did last...
We went to Africa all together.
That was when I was, I guess, like the last day of middle school or something.
Oh, okay, okay.
How...
So, who's coming?
How far are your relatives?
Oh, my parents and younger brother.
Four?
Four.
Four of you?
Okay.
That is exciting.
Yeah.
That is so exciting.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Did you plan it out?
Or did your parents plan it out?
Who was the one to be like, hey, let's go?
Kind of everybody.
Oh, you guys were all like looking to sort of go somewhere?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
The first thing was like the kikkake was...
How do you say kikkake, by the way, in English?
The first...
The initiative?
Okay, okay.
Initiative was...
So, my younger brother did a ryūgaku, just like I did.
And in the host family, there were like two sisters, I guess, in the host family.
And one of them got married.
And she's going to do like a wedding party.
Okay.
And then she invited us.
I see.
To the wedding party.
I see.
So, that's why we decided to go, first of all.
And then, well, it's like kind of a far place.
It's a distant place.
And then it might be like a great opportunity to do something.
Yeah.
And, you know, the wedding party is just two, three days.
And we can just go there in like four or five days and get back to Japan.
It's possible.
But why don't we like stay there longer and then...
That's amazing.
Yeah.
Is your brother's job okay?
Like, can he take that much of a long break?
Yeah.
Okay, he managed it.
He managed it.
Okay.
A kaishain, right?
Yeah.
Wow.
It's kind of hard to do for a kaishain to take a long break, right?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Wow.
I think he's...
Yeah, he managed somehow, you know.
He...
Yeah.
He used a trick.
Yeah, I think so.
Yeah.
Good for him.
Yeah, yeah.
Good for him.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And for my dad, for my mom, they're both working.
So...
Yeah, I see.
They managed it.
They managed it.
They all managed it.
Yeah, yeah.
Well, my dad has to return a little bit earlier than the rest of us.
But...
I see.
Still, though.
Yeah.
Still, though.
Pretty long, right?
Yeah.
My parents are, like, around 60 now.
Okay.
Around 60.
Yeah.
And we're 30.
It's going to be, like, kind of something, you know, big.
Yeah.
I mean...
My parents are still healthy.
And we're both, you know, the two kids, we're both kind of, you know, okay to...
Somehow, we could manage something, anything.
Yeah.
And, you know, family trip, you know, it's...
We cannot miss this, you know, time.
Right.
Right.
You're absolutely right.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
So, we can just...
Yeah.
So, that's why we decided to, you know, kind of make...
Obviously, it's kind of a memory of our, you know, lives, you know?
Absolutely.
So...
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, have fun, man.
Yeah.
Thank you.
Yeah.
Thank you.
Absolutely.
Thank you.
Oh, sorry for many...
Oh, yeah.
No problem.
Managing time.
No problem.
Family first.
Family first.
Yeah.
Yes.
But, yeah.
I'm excited.
Yes.
Are you all, like, really scheduling out, you know, where we're going here, where we're
going here?
Kind of.
Yes.
Kind of.
Who's, like, driving all the scheduling?
Like, just planning out all that stuff?
Are you the one?
Yeah.
Me and my mom, yes.
Okay.
So, like, really...
And also, we need to reserve places for, like, many, like, tickets and, like, trains and
everything.
So, we kind of have to think about at least, like, rough plans.
I see.
Yeah.
I see.
So...
Yeah.
That's what we do.
Okay.
I went back to my parents' house and, like, four of us, like, discuss about things.
Oh, okay.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's really nice.
Yeah.
旅行への期待と不安
Are you attending the wedding that your brother's going to?
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Your whole family's going?
Yes.
Yes.
I see.
Yes.
Yes.
Wow.
But, yeah, I'm excited.
But, you know, it's...
I'm really excited half, but half is kind of a little bit worried about...
It's not like solo trip or, like, business trip or things like that.
Like, we do, four of us, me and my younger brother and my parents, there's nobody who
can, like, emergency call to, kind of.
What do you mean?
I mean, and it's going to be a long trip.
And I'm pretty sure there's going to be some kind of trouble it's going to be having.
So I have to take responsibility for those things, you know?
What do you mean?
How is that different from you taking a solo trip?
If I'm solo, I just go wherever I want, you know?
I don't have anybody to take care of.
But with my younger brother, my two parents, well, everybody's, like, healthy.
They can walk and run and play and whatever.
But still, like, I have to, like, kind of think about them and take care about them.
If they're okay, if they're, like, not sick, if they're not tired, you know?
Are you worried about their age?
Not only age, but they don't speak, like, local languages.
Oh, I see.
Like, their mental health?
Yeah, yeah.
And also, I'm not a professional to that city.
So I don't know, you know, how to use, like, trains and cities and buses and everything.
For the cultures, you know?
Is that the whole thing of a trip, though?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Like, isn't that what you're there to do, sort of embrace different cultures and languages?
Yeah.
Yeah?
That's fine, yeah.
I heard, like, there are many things happening in that place.
Oh, really?
And they're kind of worrying, you know?
So you're talking about, like, city or something?
Those things, those are light things.
I'm sure we're going to have one or two cities.
Hopefully zero.
Yeah, I know that.
Hopefully zero.
Yeah, but I'm sure there's going to be one, two cities.
Really?
Yeah.
Are you talking about, like, races?
Racism?
Yeah.
You know, more, like, severe ones, like, I don't know, like, any, like, like, you know,
any of those things, you know?
What?
Like, violence?
Yeah, maybe.
You're going to a city where someone might come and punch you, like, randomly?
Or because you're Japanese?
Because you guys look Asian.
Oh, yeah, both.
Both, yeah.
Both?
Yeah, yeah.
Well, we're planning to not visiting those places and, like, try to, you know, escape
from those cities, you know?
Yeah.
Obviously, obviously.
I see.
But...
Still, you guys are kind of worried that some of those vibes still exist in those areas?
Yeah, yeah.
Why would you go then?
Because it's a part of a trip.
Because it's a part of a trip?
Okay, I don't...
I see.
So, mainly, like, 80% I'm excited and really excited, but, like, rest, like, 20, 30% is,
like, kind of boring.
I see.
I see.
But someone might...
Something might happen...
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
...that might, physically or mentally...
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
...sort of damage your family?
Yeah.
It's like...
Well, that's worrying.
Yeah.
That's definitely worrying.
And it's the longest trip ever I made with my whole family.
Oh, is that true?
Yeah.
Okay.
It's not a week or two weeks, so...
Yeah.
That's a new sort of, you know...
But y'all have been living together.
Yeah.
Right?
Back in the day, so...
Oh, I'm talking...
Oh, that's fine.
I'm talking about the, you know, being in a different environment for a long time...
For fun.
Yeah, sure.
...and moving around.
We're going to moving around, so...
I see.
It's not like you have one hotel where you're going to stay there for...
Yeah, it's like chilling for...
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
It's more active.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
More adventurous.
Right, right, right.
I see.
So...
Lots of room for, I guess, true, trouble, right?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Hmm.
And that's the fun part.
Yeah.
Wow.
It's kind of surprising to see you so, you know...
Yeah.
...so worried about that.
Yeah.
You know?
Right.
Because if I do it, like, solo, I can just, you know, be caught on the sillies or like...
Yeah.
...punched by somebody and I'm all right.
I just...
Well, you can yell over it quickly.
Yeah, it's okay.
It's my thing, but...
I see.
You know?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I see.
Hmm.
But, yeah, yeah, yeah.
But I'm so excited.
Yeah.
Anyway.
I see.
I see.
I hope you guys are all right.
I hope your family will successfully come back to Japan...
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
...without any, like, permanent damage.
Wish me luck.
Wish us luck.
Yeah, I definitely will.
But I'm sure there's going to be one, two, three cities at least, so...
Okay.
If you need any help from Japan, I'm available.
Oh, yeah.
Okay?
Thank you.
My emergency line is open for you guys.
Oh, yeah.
Thank you.
Thank you.
If there's anything I can help you from Japan, I will be able to be at your disposal.
Thank you so much.
Yeah.
Thank you so much.
Yeah.
Maybe in, like, midnight, because we have, like, time differences.
Yeah, sure.
Go ahead.
Hey.
Hey.
I'm available.
Hey.
Hey.
Hey.
Hey.
Hey.
Hey.
Hey.
Hey.
Hey.
Hey.
Hey.
Hey.
Hey.
Hey.
Hey.
Hey.
Hey.
I'll be ready.
I'll be ready for that one.
Thank you.
Yeah.
We practice my line.
I don't know who you are.
Yeah.
I don't know what you want.
Yeah.
But tomorrow you're leaving.
Yes.
Tomorrow, you're leaving.
Yes.
I see.
I see.
Well, wish me luck.
Wish you luck.
I wish you guys luck.
You should.
家族旅行の計画
Are you guys, like, in insurance or something?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, like basic one.
But yeah, yeah, yeah, right. Sure. Do you guys get you get ready for all this? Yeah, no skimming fucking
Are you bringing any Japanese food just in case you guys like no nothing no, yeah
Yeah, I haven't really thought about it. Yeah, but maybe like little instant the miso shiru
