Welcome to Kevin's English Room Podcast!
I have one more topic that I want to share with you on this podcast.
I know you're not that into football.
But I love football, and I've been playing football since I was 6.
And I love football.
My dream has been becoming a professional football player, playing abroad,
and having No.10 on my jersey, Japanese national team.
That had been my dream. There are so many children like that.
But 2-3 days ago, I met the player.
He's called Muroya-san. His name is Muroya-san. He's playing in the Japanese national team right now.
He's playing in Germany now, but it's like a season off, so he's coming back to Japan.
That was a random encounter. I was with my friend, and my friend brought me to some place.
It was very random. I entered the place.
It was not that big, like this room. I was walking around, and I saw Muroya-san.
I was like, wait, wait, wait, is that Muroya-san?
I was walking around, and I was like, what?
And then I finished my shopping, and I was about to leave the place.
You were about to leave the place?
Or Muroya-san?
Me. I was about to leave and have a conversation with the store clerks.
Was it a restaurant?
I mean, it's like a place. It's like a...
It's like a place.
It's like a place?
That is so vague.
Yeah, I know, I know. It doesn't matter. It's just a place.
I was about to leave, and I had a conversation with staff, I would say.
I mean, the people inside.
Just a random conversation.
And then, that guy, the place people, called Muroya-san.
03:09
Then, Muroya-san desu yo, kind of introduced me.
Oh, shit.
And I was like, oh.
Hajimemashite. I've been playing for a long time.
Wow, you're like, you know, hajimemashite. I was very nervous.
And then he said, oh, I know you.
Shit.
And I was like, what?
And what he said was like, yeah, I've been listening to your podcast.
Holy shit.
I've been listening to your podcast while I go to the training pitch in Germany while driving.
I'm listening to your podcast in a car, practicing English.
And I'm like, what? Really?
Damn, what are the chances?
And I was like, sweating. Like, really?
Okay, what happened after that?
After that, we had a conversation.
Just a small conversation.
How you do podcasts or stream videos.
How's your football life?
I'm playing in Germany and things like that.
And yeah.
Damn, what an encounter.
Yeah, I was very surprised and like, so, so happy.
Right. I mean, that shit doesn't happen, man.
Yeah.
And he said he likes you, too.
Oh, well, thank you.
Say hi to Kevin.
Well, thank you. That's flattering. Thank you.
I was very surprised and like, and he said that, you know, he's in Germany right now.
And trying to speak Germany to like, you know, have a conversation with, to communicate with, you know, team members.
Sure.
Of course, to play, to win the game.
But it's difficult to, you know, learn new Germany from zero, you know.
Right.
So, at first few years, he was trying to learn Germany.
Okay.
So, now like he's switching to like English to communicate with players.
So, now he's learning, you know, English right now.
Do other people know English?
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because it's like an international club in Germany.
I see.
So, there are many like that, you know, Germans, of course, but like Italians, like people, like many international teams.
So, I guess English is a very strong tool.
And he said like, this podcast helped him to communicate with players and like.
06:05
Oh my God, here we go again.
Here we go again.
Like I was, wait, really?
How could you use any of what we're saying on the field?
Right, right.
On a soccer field, right?
Did he give an answer to that?
Yeah, but he said, I mean, I didn't ask him like in detail.
But he said, yeah, yeah, of course.
Like every day, I guess every day, like conversation.
That would make sense.
Of course, not like specified words, you know, like that's a different thing.
Like the vibes.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, flow and everything.
Wow.
So, yeah.
What an encounter.
That was a big moment for me.
Yeah, that was a big moment for you, man.
Like a soccer guy.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, he was very, he was tall.
He was, he was very, I thought he was very like buff guy, like big guy.
He was very tall and like tight.
Okay.
Yeah.
Okay.
He had very small, small face.
Oh, really?
Yeah.
Very good looking guy.
Oh God.
Yeah.
And he was very gentle.
Yeah.
Damn.
That was a big moment for me.
So.
So I was very surprised.
And I'm very happy if I, if we could, I mean, if I could, or if we could be a tiny bit of, you know, help.
Help.
I mean, of course.
Japanese, you know.
Of course.
That's true.
Yeah.
We're, so can we say that we're basically a Nihon Daihyo?
Yeah.
Oh, yes.
We're basically a Nihon Daihyo.
Yeah, basically we are.
Yeah.
Like as a team.
Yeah.
Right.
I can't, I can't think of a logic that wouldn't, I can't think of a logic that would not make us a Nihon Daihyo.
Yeah.
Because, right?
Yeah.
Right?
Right.
There's no, no doubt.
There's no doubt.
I can't, I don't, I can't think of any reason.
Yeah.
Why anyone would say we're not.
Yeah.
Right.
Now that this is a fact.
This is not fact.
Yes.
Of course.
Yeah.
But.
Should we start practicing?
Yeah.
Of what?
Of football?
Yes.
As a Japanese national team player?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Of course.
I mean, we, we should, we should, at least for me.
Yeah.
I should be more familiarized myself.
Yeah.
With football.
Yeah, you should.
With the rules.
You should.
I probably, there, there, there's some rules that I still don't understand.
Like, you know, the.
But at least you understand offside, right?
I do understand offside.
09:00
Yeah.
Perfect.
Yeah.
Professional.
I still don't know what's, what's, what, what the difference between a, a rolling on the,
on the ground, pretending to be hurt versus being actually hurt.
And I don't know where the morals are.
I don't know where you draw the morals are.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's a, that's nobody knows actually.
Right.
But you know, as in, I've been playing football for, you know, trying to becoming a, trying
to become a that level, but I wasn't enough.
And I, you know, quit that dream, you know?
So if this could be a tiny part of.
Right.
You know, power.
You being, right.
That's amazing.
Right.
That is amazing.
Yeah.
That's right.
Yeah.
You should wear the Jersey.
You should start wearing jerseys, man.
As in Japanese national.
Yeah.
Be proud of yourself.
Yeah.
Right.
Right.
When is the next shi-ai?
I don't know.
Don't know?
Good job.
Good job.
Because it's like a off season now.
Oh, right.
It's like a, yeah.
I guess we don't have any like tournament.
I see.
Because this World Cup has ended.
Sure.
Sure.
Sure.
Sure.
Yeah.
So.
Who's the coach right now?
Coach?
Moriya-san.
Moriya-san.
Yeah.
Right.
Same as before.
Same as before.
Yes.
Yes.
Right.
Still.
He's still on the coach.
I see.
I see.
Yeah.
Wow.
Well, we're going to do our best performing for the, performing or playing.
Yeah.
Japan, right?
Yeah.
Right.
Right.
So, no one knows who is listening to this, you know.
True.
Who would be like the person that you'd be most like amazed if that person is listening
to the podcast?
I have my answer.
Oh, you have your answer?
So, personally, right?
Personally.
Yeah.
Personal opinion, right?
Personal opinion.
Yes.
Wow.
You have your own answer.
I have my answer.
Yes.
That's a difficult one.
I mean, I have, I've never imagined that.
Yeah.
I'd say, okay, I would say to this podcast, right?
12:05
Yes.
Oh, I don't, nothing coming out.
All right.
Well, I'll give you my answer.
Yeah.
Yeah.
My answer is Kishida, Naigakusouri Daishin.
I know.
If he was listening to this podcast.
That's very, yeah.
Yeah, it is.
I would be so surprised.
Yeah, me too.
Well, I mean, yeah.
The Prime Minister of Japan was listening to this podcast.
Yeah.
That would be like.
Yeah.
The biggest.
No.
Yeah.
You're kidding.
Yeah.
I mean, he shouldn't listen to this podcast.
He should focus on what he's.
I wonder if he watches YouTube or like, I wonder if he consumes social media.
At least Facebook he does, right?
Yeah.
At least he has an account.
Right.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Nah.
Yeah.
Nah.
Nah.
But not like personal one.
Like a official...
Official maybe.
What do you think he looks at on his Twitter account?
Do you think he looks at like, like funny tweets and stuff?
the contents that are viral, right?
And many of the viral contents are like, you know,
comedy-related or like, you know.
So like, I think it's very possible.
True.
Even to anybody.
Right.
Because if you just stay on the screen,
like even if you don't click at it,
like if the content is on the screen long enough
that the algorithm would think that,
oh, this person likes this content,
then it will start showing you all these contents, right?
So like, he could be, you know,
he could be looking at comedy stuff,
could be looking at funny cat videos on Twitter.
It's very possible.
Right, right.
Right?
Right.
Interesting.
We're not sure if he's recognized,
but at least he has seen your face, for example, like at least.
Well, that could be very, very, yeah.
Damn.
Yeah.
Just, yeah.
But yeah.
But he shouldn't see or like listen to this podcast for this country.
Yeah.
15:03
I mean.
So many things to do.
Damn right.
Yeah.
You're damn right.
Yeah.
All right.
Yeah.
Thanks for listening, guys.
Thank you.
Bye-bye.
Bye.
