ライブ直前の興奮
Welcome to Kevin's English Room Podcast.
Good morning.
Good morning.
How are you?
I'm doing great.
Good.
Yeah, great.
It's a bit cold today, isn't it?
Really?
No, it's not that cold.
I thought it was a little bit warm.
Oh, really?
Oh, yeah.
You talk like that.
Well, I mean, I came, yeah, maybe it's because it's cloudy.
Oh, yeah.
Cloudy.
Yeah, probably.
It's not sunny, so that's why.
Right, right.
It has been sunny lately.
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
I know you have your big day coming up this week.
Oh, yes.
Yes, thank you.
How are you feeling?
I'm very excited.
Uh-huh.
And nervous at the same time.
Uh-huh.
And I'm doing practicing and practicing every day.
Oh, shit.
Which makes me feel like the day is coming.
Uh-huh, uh-huh.
And yeah, it's very exciting, you know.
バンドとの練習
Are you practicing with the band as well?
Yes, yes, yes.
The other day, last week, we did kind of the second rehearsal with the whole band.
Uh-huh.
And yeah, I mean, they are very good.
I mean, the musicians.
Professionals, right?
Yeah.
Professionals.
Yeah.
They're very good.
Like, yeah.
I mean, I was very surprised.
Uh-huh, uh-huh.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Like, how they adjust to everything.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Like, the small adjustment and the changes.
Like, you know, the bandmaster is that guy, you know, the one who performed with the
new scenes.
Uh-huh, uh-huh.
And then he, you know, he kind of, I think he is hearing, like, literally every single
sound.
From all the players.
Yeah.
Like, even, you know, little hi-hats from the drama.
Uh-huh.
So, like, a little anything from anybody.
Uh-huh.
And he's just, so we practiced one song.
And then he's gonna, like, say something to the band.
Uh-huh.
And small adjustment and things like that.
Uh-huh.
And wow, that's amazing.
Uh-huh.
And, you know, he was like...
Oh, shit!
Wow.
Like, after the whole song, he would articulate that one spot.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Damn.
And he was playing his part at the same time, too, of course.
Uh-huh, uh-huh.
And he's hearing everything.
Damn.
And, yeah.
バンドマスターの指示と調整
Aren't you the one that's supposed to be saying all that shit?
No?
No.
You have to...
Well, I mean, I can be.
Uh-huh.
I can say something if I...
Uh-huh.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I can say something if I have something to...
Uh-huh.
You're right.
You're right.
...adjust things.
Right.
But, you know, I'm not that, like, musically, like, very deep professional.
Uh-huh.
So, usually, we have a bandmaster.
Uh-huh.
He's in the band.
I see.
And we had a meeting.
Uh-huh.
And, you know, like, how...we planned how it should be, like, directed.
Uh-huh.
And how it should be, like, arranged.
Uh-huh.
And then, on the spot, he is the kind of leader...
ワンマンライブの準備
Oh, I see.
...in the band and...
I see.
Yeah.
So, he kind of takes the lead.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Oh, I see.
...in the band and...
I see.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So, he kind of takes on the responsibility of overseeing...
Yes.
Yes.
...all the, you know, the arrangements and all that.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I see.
And if it's, you know, if all the arrangements matches to what I want...
Uh-huh.
...and also, at the same time, if it's good as an, you know, like, simply, like,
good as music.
Uh-huh.
Yeah.
Wow.
Yeah.
Damn.
It's very fun.
I mean...
Uh-huh.
...I usually make music.
It's in the computer.
Yes.
I kind of, you know, I have a small keyboard and put it in, like...
Uh-huh.
...you know...
Yeah.
...and put everything.
Yes.
And it's now kind of finally, like, a real thing...
Ah.
...in the room.
I see.
They play it and it's finally, like...
It's alive.
Yeah.
It's real.
Uh-huh.
And that's...
Oh, shit.
...very cool.
I see.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So, how's your balance here?
曲のアレンジと歌詞の記憶
Okay.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
True.
It's like...
So, hmm...
Nervousness.
Uh-huh.
I don't feel nervousness now, actually.
Uh-huh.
Like, two.
Two nervousness?
Yeah.
That's pretty low.
Out of ten.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And then excitement, I'd say four.
Four or five.
Okay.
And the worry...
Uh-huh.
...is like four or five, you know?
Oh.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's like big.
I see.
I see.
A worry that you might...
What?
To memorize all the lyrics, actually.
Oh, I see.
Yeah.
Because I...
So, I released four songs...
Uh-huh.
...in a two-week.
In a short span.
Okay.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And I made it so, like, in a short time.
Uh-huh.
And so, I have to, you know, memorize all the songs.
Uh-huh.
And then, like, some songs were, like, released...
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I think I released it, like, two years ago.
Right.
I kind of, you know...
It's very, you know, far from now.
So, I have to back and, like, re-kind of memorize all the lyrics and...
I see.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's the biggest part.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I have to...
歌詞の補助ツールについて
Well, what about putting, like, a monitor up, right?
So that you can see the lyric, isn't that...
True.
Isn't that what people do?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
If it's, like, a big...
place you can put it like monitor in the far that way or like here uh-huh right yeah true
yeah maybe i should do that to make make sure uh-huh like if i completely forget anything and
still i can see but yeah this time i haven't prepared that yeah yeah yeah and i want to i
歌詞の覚え方
want to be like memorize everything be like authentic yeah to perform and to tell your
truth and yeah so that's what i'm trying but you know yeah right but when i write songs it's
i write what i want to write it's not for performing oh right okay very difficult to
memorize it's oh really many words in it many many like difficult words and but it's but it's
singable though right like it's it's singable oh yeah it's not like it's an impossible rap
verse right it's just not impossible it's just right the word choices
are somewhat of an irregular one so that made it sort of made it difficult for you to naturally
oh i see yeah and it's also like very you know so the first verse and that small tiny changes
in the second verse which makes me difficult to like wait wait which was you know kind of funny
how like the creator of the song can't like get that straight
you know i've always thought that like if you like for let's say for example like idol groups
like they their songs are provided right right right they have different the they separated
the singers and the creators are separated so it's like it's it's natural to think that like
well they had to do the memorizing process and it's like it makes sense that sometimes they
forget right but like as someone who's like a creator and the singer of the song i've always
thought that like how could you ever forget like you made it like is it right that's kind of new to
me that's right yeah yeah but i think um to me like memorize somebody another song is kind of
easier to me really yeah because when because if it's my song i kind of forget it's me who made it
so it's kind of i can still now i can made it yeah so it's like very confusing oh so like i see
yeah like you're kind of confident that because it comes from you that like it's yeah it's my
i know what it is but like at the same time there's still that blurriness of like
i could it's possible that i say this way yes yes at the same time i might also say that right
which one did i finalize yeah yeah it's finally it's like mixed of like memorize and
like a speaking at the same time i see yeah it's like wait did i did i decided to you know
i see yeah i see if it's complete like memorize it's it's just memorize it there's no like
in it yeah so it's just just memorize but i'm assuming that you don't listen to your own song
ライブの準備
just not as much as like some of your favorite artists true true so that makes it kind of even
harder to like yeah yeah right kind of remember like if it's a if it's a music that you listen
to constantly just kind of it's in your memory but like right yeah right so now i'm listening
heavily to my songs
yeah yeah yeah right but yes it's very it's coming and uh yeah yeah big day man big day yeah
yeah yeah yeah it's a fucking big day it's true first time your own very own closet right yes
yeah first time ever in my life and this is something i've been you know dreaming for
right years and then finally come so shit man wow hell of a big day man
right yeah still like excitement and worry half and a half all right but yeah i did that
rehearsals and that was very you know they are professional so yeah i know like catastrophe
won't be happened ah okay because it because it's you know i see yeah okay yeah even if i
completely mess and i do some whatever
but still the live show will be like go on and i see the team can yeah just uh whatever yeah that
might happen yeah so i know yeah it's good to at least released yeah it's good to know well i mean
i'll i'll be looking forward to um what you have to say next week you know um hope it's a good one
right yes hope that you're fucking excited and hope nothing happens right yeah right yeah so
the live will be friday
the next monday yeah right i'll be weather right very happy that's what you said on on
opening act right so yeah i mean you you you were kind of happy with that and like you know
yeah yeah yeah right wow yes yeah good luck though yeah thank you super good luck yeah thank
you all right really thank you okay all right thanks for listening guys bye
