みんなどうやってゆで卵剥いてる?

Welcome to Kevin's English from podcast.
All right.
Okay.
About bananas.
How do you, your bananas?
So, um, so you see bananas, they have like two, two ends ends, right?
Yes.
One is longer one.
Yes.
And one is just the base, the ends, the end.
Right.
I got it.
Yeah.
So I, I, I, um, hand the bananas like longer one is upside.
Okay.
And I peel it, peel it like this.
Uh huh.
And I eat it.
Okay.
Yeah.
I think that's like a common way that is the common, the most common way.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's, that's what you want me to say, right?
No, no, no, no, no.
I was genuinely curious.
Okay.
Okay.
But I do, I do, I do in the way.
Is it normal to do it the other way, like have the longer side bottom, hold that, that longer
side and then peel it from the, the, the short end.
Yeah.
Like I hear that that's the top.
Oh really?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, but that's true.
It's like a tree.
Uh huh.
And like, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Right.
Like people say that that's the top, the long end is the bottom.
Right, right, right.
It's like attached it to the, like the trees.
Right.
Yeah.
Well, that's true.
And, and, and, and I, and I also heard that if you peel from the short end, you get less
of that stringy stuff that, you know, you know how there's that like the five or six
stringy stuff through the body of the banana and like, which you can't eat.
Kind of like, yeah, I eat it, but Oh yeah.
Okay.
In that, in that edible, it's edible.
Right.
Like it's not like bad thing.
Right.
I mean, people hate it like neutral, nutritious, good.
I mean, not bad.
Not bad.
Okay.
Well, I mean, I mean, I eat it, so I don't really care that much.
Okay.
Like people say that when you peel it like that, you get less of that stringy stuff and
it's bad.
Oh, I didn't know that.
Like I've seen some people like peel it in that way.
Yeah.
And I was like, what a weirdo.
Yeah.
But Oh, so I don't like those strange, the stringy, the stringy.
So yeah, I'll try that.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Is it true?
I mean, I, that's what I heard.
I mean, try it.
See if it works.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Oh yeah.
But that's true.
It's like a, that's a head of banana.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Right.
I always think that longer one is like the head of banana.
Right.
It is easier to peel, I guess, because it's longer.
You get that grip.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Right.
Grab it and then.
Yeah.
Wow.
03:00
Do you ever try to peel your bananas?
Like when you peel your banana, like, you know how you get like four or five strings?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Do you try to, do you sometimes challenge yourself to go three?
Like I do that.
Like I try to peel everything with three peels.
I try to get three leaves hanging out.
You know what I'm talking about?
Like, yeah.
Normally it's like four or five.
Okay.
Four or five slim ones.
Yeah.
Like I try to, I challenge myself to do three.
Like.
So you're talking about the peels, right?
Three peels, like three leaves hanging out.
Why do you, why?
It's satisfying.
It's more satisfying to have a bigger peel.
So what about two?
Two that's impossible.
Is that impossible?
You can't do two.
Really?
It's too round.
Like it's the, the, the, yeah.
The circumference is too small for it to, no, I guess it doesn't matter how big the circumference
is.
It's like, it's two is impossible.
Is it impossible?
It's too round.
Like when you try to peel it, like it's gonna, it's gonna rip apart.
Oh, okay.
Yeah.
They're in the middle.
Like, yeah.
So three is the.
Yeah.
You can't go higher than three.
Maximum you can.
Yeah.
No.
Yeah.
Maximum is two.
Okay.
Sorry.
Three.
Okay.
Four is too normal.
Is it four or five is too normal.
Like it's just boring.
Oh, right.
Yeah.
What about like 10?
Oh, like go more?
Yeah.
I wouldn't go, I wouldn't go for more.
That's why that's just a waste of time.
Like why would you, why would you have to peel like 10 times when you could finish in three,
right?
Like that's just, that's, that's rational.
Oh, I was talking about efficiency.
Efficiency.
Well, just as much as satisfaction.
Yeah.
Three.
Three is satisfying.
Yeah.
I would say it's more satisfying than getting the satisfaction from it being rational.
Like, okay.
Like it's, yeah.
It's the fact that I'm peeling a big surface area.
That's what's satisfying.
Do you do the same thing for like Mikan?
Oh, Mikan?
Do you want to do?
No.
Maybe, I think three is impossible.
So like four.
But what I do try to do is I, same thing I do with eggs.
I try to, I try to peel off, I try to make a line that goes around the circle.
Okay.
It goes around the cube.
You know what I'm talking about?
Like, like, like you make a belt, like you make an empty belt around the Mikan.
Yeah.
And then now you're left with a top half and the bottom half.
Yeah.
I try to get the top half.
Okay.
So you get like a giant, like a giant plate of Kawa.
Yeah.
That's satisfying.
Okay.
Just like eggs too.
Just like eggs too?
Yeah.
Do you do that with eggs?
Like, I'm sure a lot of people do that with eggs.
I don't see what you're talking about.
06:00
You crack, you make one round.
You're talking about like a boiled eggs.
Boiled eggs.
Yeah.
Boiled eggs.
You make a crack around the stomach area, right?
You make a belt of the cracks.
Okay.
Yeah.
And then you peel off all the cracked part and then now you're left with the top and
the bottom, right?
Oh yeah.
Uncracked.
Uh huh.
Uh.
Uh.
The shell.
Shell.
Right?
And now you try to make a, you try to make space in the middle.
Like in between the shell and the inside.
Yeah.
And then you get like a, you get like a, like a cup of shell and that's satisfying.
Wow.
I've never tried that before.
Oh yeah.
It's satisfying.
I didn't know the way.
Oh yeah.
But it sounds like easier to eat.
It is.
It's faster too.
Yeah.
Faster?
Yeah.
It's faster.
Oh, that's great.
Right.
I always struggle with it.
Like I, I do every, every, you know, I make crack on every part and then like I, I kind
of destroy.
Oh, okay.
Okay.
And kind of, I just only eat the yolk.
Wow.
Yeah.
You destroyed that egg.
Yeah.
I kind of, I am always struggling with boiled eggs.
So yeah, that's, I should try that way.
Wow.
Are you using like what?
Like a shovel to like peel off your shells?
No, my fingers.
I mean, another thing, another easy way of peeling off all your shells is right.
Step one, like what you do, crack every part of the egg and then slowly peel off.
Like you know how there's a layer underneath the thin like this, like, yeah, this like
a thin sheet sheet.
Yeah.
Like a plastic sheet.
Yeah.
That's still together.
Even though the shells are cracked.
Oh yeah.
Like you're, you're going to rely on that integrity to easily peel off the shell because the shell
is all soft now.
It's cracked.
Yeah.
Don't you try that?
That's what I do basically.
But you end up with a yolk.
Yeah.
I kind of, so when I try to, you know, I know there's a, like a thin plastic, like a cover,
like a seal.
Yes.
And I had to, you know, kind of use that sheet.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
That's that makes sense.
But the shiromi is not kind of attached to it.
Is it?
Yeah.
And I was like, Oh God, oh shiromi again.
And then I got this, this yolk and with little shiromi in it.
Yeah.
What?
Yeah.
That's always sad to me.
09:00
Are you using your nails to do it or?
No, no fingers.
Like I guess that's quite usual, but yeah, I always try to find a way to, yeah.
Are you bad with te-sakis?
Yeah, maybe.
Would you say you're kind of not that good at like komakai sagyo stuff?
I'm actually good at those like komakai sagyo, like for example, like writing small.
Oh, okay.
Like was.
Okay.
So I, yeah, I've been growing as a te-saki ga kiyo guy.
Yeah.
Since I was really small.
Yeah.
But maybe not.
How about like a really small origami?
Yeah, I can, I can do those.
But not eggs.
Eggs are different.
Eggs are difficult.
Yeah.
And when you pour flour, like you're bad with like little bits of the flowers.
Like I remember you were like, there's a powder like, and you want to put like 10 grams of
powder.
You end up with like 70 grams.
You make this huge earthquake.
Maybe you end up with like a pile of it.
Yeah, and a bun.
Yeah.
True.
That's true.
Yes.
I'm going to try that way.
Yeah.
Make a belt.
And then huge cracks.
And then huge cracks?
Oh, well, I mean, I do, I'm a professional, so I do like the full, like I make a cup out
of it.
But like if you're not, if you're an amateur, you can just start with several cracks.
So you made a cup first?
The cup is into three.
Okay.
Okay.
Yeah.
You make a bell.
Oh, so it's difficult to like put off the whole shell.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It is difficult.
If you don't have air, you're going to get that white stuff with it too.
That's difficult.
Okay.
So, okay.
Yeah.
I see.
I see.
Yeah.
Start with like three or four.
Okay.
Okay.
That shell.
Try that.
