Welcome to Kevin's English Room Podcast.
Hello.
Hey.
All right.
Swiping.
Yeah.
You swiping there.
Yeah.
Big swipe.
Yeah.
Big swipe right there.
Swiping those DMs, huh?
Swipe.
I try to, you know, read the...
DMs?
Yeah, the very...
The beginning?
Beginning.
The newest one?
No, the oldest one.
The oldest DM?
Yeah.
Oh, yeah. Okay. Okay.
So you're scrolling down for the old DMs.
Yes.
Okay.
All right.
Okay.
All right.
Yeah, clear that.
No, sorry.
Clear that out of the road.
Okay.
This is from Akirakani Ayaka-san.
Obviously.
Obviously.
Obviously Ayaka-san.
Yeah, this is obviously Ayaka-san.
Thank you.
All right.
Very similar to the question we got last time.
Yeah.
Okay.
Okay.
Wow.
Uh-huh.
Uh-huh.
Uh-huh.
Uh-huh.
Uh-huh.
Uh-huh.
Uh-huh.
Uh-huh.
Yes.
Thank you.
Thank you.
I'm completely on her side where like I want to do a lot of things as well.
Yeah.
I'm so interested in a lot of things.
I want to start this.
I want to start that.
And like I'm overwhelmed by it.
But what I try to do is I try not to blame myself like if I'm not able to accomplish
anything like I don't, you know, semaru myself, you know?
Yeah.
I'm not doing all things I want to.
03:01
Yeah.
Yeah.
At least you tried it and that's good.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's how I'm wired.
Like I'm like my interests go everywhere.
So.
Yeah.
I agree with that.
Yeah.
That's why that's how I'm that's yeah, that's how I'm wired.
So.
Yeah.
Yeah.
At least you listen to three or four podcasts, Korean podcasts.
I know.
That's great.
I know.
I know.
I know.
I started learning Korean.
Like, you know how many times I've said I'm going to start learning Korean?
But you literally you started.
I have started.
You just listened to.
I have started.
Some podcasts and some videos.
I have.
Yeah.
I started listening to the podcast.
I stopped.
I just went somewhere and then I started looking at started watching YouTube videos of Korean.
And it just I don't know.
I kind of stopped.
I don't know why.
But that's how I'm wired.
Like, that's that's what makes me happy.
So, yeah, I'm not I'm not punishing myself.
Yeah.
Not continuing.
Yeah.
You love I know you kind of guy loves starting something new.
Oh, yeah.
So, yeah.
I get adrenaline.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You love finding new things, trying new things.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Great.
How do you do you have like a like a schedule management kind of way of doing things?
Yeah.
I write a schedule on my diary.
Right.
For like months every month.
Mm hmm.
Yeah.
That's it.
Yeah.
And also, um, Trello, right?
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
You introduced me before.
Mm hmm.
I have everything in my trail.
Mm hmm.
It's like a wake up at nine.
Eat breakfast, everything in it.
We try Trello is not a calendar app, right?
It's just a but I am it's just a list.
Yeah.
Show you that.
So I've got like mind organization app.
Yeah.
Right.
So this is my okay.
So to do.
Yeah.
So for example, like, yeah, but anyways, okay, that was I put out that was a that wasn't very helpful.
Decided not to show me.
Look at this.
Um, no, it wasn't good example, but oh, so remember like that was a day before yesterday.
Okay.
19th.
Yeah.
Like this.
Oh, so you have the day after tomorrow each day as your card.
Yeah.
06:00
In the card in that date.
Yeah.
Click it.
There's lists checklist to do list for you.
Yeah.
Okay.
And like a wake up a drink protein, eat breakfast, drink coffee, um, sentaku, you know, watering
the plants.
Why don't you do that on your calendar?
Because I don't.
Isn't it easier that way?
Really?
Is it easier?
Yeah.
Just click on the date on the calendar and then just add event, right?
Just.
Yeah, that's the same thing.
Yeah.
Oh, I mean, I don't use that.
You know, calendar app, calendar app.
I just write down.
I see.
Yeah.
And I like I love that thing that I did it.
I did it.
You put like a checkmark.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I see.
I love that feature.
I see.
I see.
So that's what I do.
And also, um, there's a, I heard that there's, there's a, um, rules of three.
Rules of three.
Yeah.
Maybe I said in some episode before, but, um, it's like, uh, people will never be able
to focus on four or more things in a day.
Or like if you focus on three things in one day, you will be more like way more efficient
on those three, which is like, um, for example, like today, okay.
Podcast.
Okay.
Which is work.
Okay.
Like Nama Hai Shin, which is work to me.
Okay.
And also like, for example, like, um, your hobby, maybe like, um, Jim, maybe.
Okay.
That's your hobby.
And, uh, Kaji.
Okay.
So all things.
So you, all you need to do in one day is just three big categories.
Okay.
You shouldn't put like, like Shigoto, Kaji, Asobi, Kazoku.
So if you start putting four or more big categories in your one day, then your, your like focus
rate will getting lower on each sections.
That's interesting.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So if you, I know we, me too, I have so many things that I want to do in my life, but so
that's, I need, I want, I, I, I, I put things, organize things in one month.
Uh-huh.
And so that I can do three things in one day.
Uh-huh.
But in total, I can do so many things in my life in my month is what I do.
Oh, so you look at the total first, like this month I want to accomplish this and you divide
it by 30 and then you chop it into bite size pieces and then you scatter out through the
months.
Yeah.
Oh, that's interesting.
Yeah.
That's what I, that's what I mean.
09:01
You know, um, making us a schedule.
Oh.
Yeah.
How do you know how often you should do it?
Like let's say that, okay, I want to accomplish this, right?
Yeah.
Next month.
How do you know how often you should scatter it throughout the month?
Like, for example, like should I schedule this every three days, every four days or every
other day or?
Well, it depends on your passion towards that thing, but as it's limited, like it's a month,
so you can't put everything in it, right?
Yeah.
Your time is limited.
So it forced to be like, it's like a puzzle thing.
I need to put my family thing, friend thing, this job thing, my music things, and it will
be like puzzle.
And how do I know the frequency is like a experience, I guess.
Okay.
So I've been doing this for before, like for a long time.
So yeah, for four day a month isn't enough.
Like two weeks, a month.
Yeah, that's enough.
It's just experience, I guess.
I see.
Okay.
So, yeah.
That's interesting.
Yeah.
All right.
Because you have so many things that you want to do, you need to organize those things,
right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's what I do.
Yeah.
And that fit me.
Yeah.
I love, you know.
Puzzling it out.
This, this, this.
Yeah.
What I do if I'm, if I have a lot on my plate.
Yeah.
Is I stay up.
Yeah.
Don't sleep.
Yeah.
Like for you, you're a long-term planner.
Like you have the thing plan out for a month, right?
Yeah.
I'm really short-term.
Like I have, like I always have this simple list.
Like quick to-do list.
Like that's all I have.
And I'm constantly like trying to cross it out.
Yeah.
So mine's not that long-term.
Yeah.
I don't know what I'll be doing in like next week.
No idea.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Different style.
Yeah.
I actually exactly know what I do in next Thursday, for example.
Yes.
That's already planned.
Yeah.
12:00
Very different for mine.
Yeah.
If I don't have plans, maybe I'm not organized guy.
I'm kind of rude guy.
So I will go somewhere completely somewhere.
If I don't have any plans, I would go somewhere maybe.
Somewhere random.
Somewhere random.
You're going to be out of control.
Yeah.
And I know that.
So I need plans.
I see.
Yeah.
I see.
All right.
Yeah.
Thanks for listening, guys.
Bye-bye.
