Welcome to Kevin's English Room Podcast.
All right.
You prepared your water.
I did prepare water.
Yeah.
Yeah. Why?
No.
Did you want some?
No.
You good?
I've got my coffee.
You got your coffee.
Yeah.
Good coffee.
I like the coffee.
Thank you.
Yeah.
Oh, how did you find the taste?
It was pretty easy to drink.
Like it was one of those coffees.
I remember last time you shared me with that coffee, the place that you like.
Yeah.
And I said that I don't get the headaches.
Right, right, right, right.
That one I thought might have been the one that wouldn't give me a headache.
Oh, great.
Yeah.
I don't know.
I have to drink more for me to like actually.
That was just like this.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But I thought it didn't have that headacheiness.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Oh, that's great.
It's like a medium roasted, a bit lighter.
Okay.
Okay.
So that's why I guess.
I like that good.
Yeah.
Okay.
All right.
So do you have anything that you want to share with me?
Let's see.
Not yet.
Not yet.
I haven't thought of anything yet.
Okay.
Oh, I have a quest.
I mean, question or like, um, do you remember last night I sent you a text?
Okay.
Um, oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
I remember like an English English question.
Yeah.
Yeah, sure.
Yeah.
So, um, that was actually my, um, um, lyrics.
Oh, for your song.
Yeah.
I see.
I see.
And I wrote it, but I was like, does this make sense?
Yeah.
Does it like, like natural as in English or like, does that make sense?
Like, and so I wanted to like make sure if it's like, you know, understandable for people.
Well, so, um, the sentence you gave me, you don't mind saying it.
Okay.
Everybody needs somebody busking on the street.
Yeah.
So I didn't know what the word busking was.
Okay.
Okay.
So I had to look that up and I figured it was, uh, uh, yeah.
Yeah.
It's like a street or live.
Uh huh.
I see.
I got basking on street or like basking at Metro station.
Oh, okay.
In subway.
I see.
I see.
I see.
Everyone needs somebody busking on the street.
So what I thought at first, it was a little bit counterintuitive.
03:01
Like it didn't come to me naturally.
So I did have to think about the meaning a little bit, but after, you know, I gave it
a little bit of a hard time, but it was like, I thought it could have been meant like, um,
everybody needs this, needs the vibe in their life.
Everybody needs that like freedom of expression vibe.
Like, you know how those people that are performing in the streets, they're more, you know, on
the freedom side of life, right?
Like they're doing what they want to do and not many people are doing it.
So like you can take that as their, their free and everybody, either they want to be
them.
Everybody should experience that or everybody should, you know, have the privilege of being
a part of that performance.
Yeah.
Even if it's like being a part of their crowd, you know, that, that could be, you know, um,
being with them.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Their freedom vibe.
And I, that's, that's what I thought.
Okay.
But, oh, great.
Then is that what you wanted to express?
Yeah.
Well, actually, um, so first of all, as an English sentence, it doesn't like completely
broken or not.
I need somebody asking on the streets.
No, it's not broken.
Understandable.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay, great.
You know, it's like a, this is a lyric.
So not like usual, like, you know, literature.
Conversational phrase.
It's like a poet, poetic one.
Okay.
So it could be, um, I understand it's a bit like a strange.
So, um, actually, um, in my lyric, what I wanted to write was like, everybody needs
somebody basking on your life.
Okay.
But, you know, to make it like easier to ask you, I changed it on the street, but.
I see, I see, I see somebody basking on your life.
So that makes it even harder.
Right, right, right.
But does that make, like, it's not, the grammar's not everywhere.
Okay.
I mean, it's poetically, it makes sense poetically.
Okay.
Okay.
That's great.
Yeah.
Okay.
You do have to think about it a little bit.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Understand what it means, like actually.
Um, but it's not, I don't, it doesn't feel like, I mean, shouldn't there be an
S or like, should there be like an E D right there?
It's nothing like that.
Okay, okay, okay.
Great, great.
It feels like, yeah.
Great.
Right.
Okay.
And you can kind of catch the image of that, like a phrase, like a.
Yes.
If I, if I, if I've known the word busking.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'll probably would have some sort of image.
Oh, great.
To what that sounds to me.
Okay.
Great, great, great, great.
Well, thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I just wanted to, yeah, I was like, yes, I did it.
06:00
I was like, and then wait, does this make sense?
And like I searched online, like how to use need, you know.
I see, I see.
And saw everything, but couldn't find the answer.
Like a.
What was the nuance of the need that you wanted to express?
Um, so I wanted to express was like a, the meaning I wanted to express was like a, it
was like a, everybody, some everybody like a needs somebody who, um, who like a, who
performs along your life.
Okay.
Okay.
With you.
Like I want, this is, this was like a friend friendship song.
Okay.
Like a needs somebody who like a runs along with you or like a, um, you know, play some
music with you kind of.
I see.
I see.
I see.
Yeah.
Then I think it makes sense.
Okay.
Yeah.
Great.
Great.
Okay.
Thanks.
Oh, great.
That's good.
That's good.
Yeah.
Okay.
So I wanted to, um, like a ask you.
Yeah, go ahead.
Like my another song.
Oh yeah.
Sure.
Sure.
Sure.
And in, in the way in, in, in a song, I had a, a kind of rap.
Okay.
And then I just wanted to ask you if what the sentence for you for the first listening,
like a.
What the what?
What the word.
Word.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay.
I mean, I think you can understand the lyric.
I mean, you can catch the lyric, but it's a, there are some similar pronunciation was in
English, right?
Right.
For example, like, um, you know, like light and right.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Those, those things.
And so can I just, um, sure.
You're going to run those phrases and I'm going to see if I can catch the words.
Like if I can distinguish precisely which word it is.
Yeah.
Sorry.
It's not like mixed down version yet, but yeah, sure.
It's okay.
You can look at, is it like a hip hoppy vibe?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Oh wow.
I didn't know you make those kinds of music.
Yeah, a bit kind of rapping and it's also like a usual song as well.
They got some kind of hook.
Hook.
Yeah.
Okay.
So, okay.
So that was that.
Ooh.
09:00
Okay.
Here we go.
Find the ship.
Yeah.
Find the ship.
Find the ship.
Yeah.
Find the, like the ocean ship.
Yeah.
Okay.
Okay.
That's what I caught.
Okay, great.
Find the ship.
Yeah.
Okay, great.
Okay.
Thanks.
Is that your final answer?
That's as I think it's the first impression.
Yeah.
Find the ship.
Oh great, great, great.
Thank you.
Yeah.
Okay.
Is that good for you?
Yeah, yeah.
Good for me.
Okay.
The reason why I asked you was like I made it and mixed it and then I listened to the
song and like suddenly I caught up in like this opinion of like, wait, does this sound
like find a shit?
Oh no.
No, no, no.
I was like, wait.
Yeah.
So I just wanted to like, yeah.
Wait, was it ship?
Ship.
Yes, yes, yes.
Okay.
So like S-H-I-P-C.
Yeah, I see.
Yeah, it didn't sound like shit.
Okay, okay.
Oh great.
Yeah.
I mean, oh, I'm relieved.
I mean, I wouldn't be too surprised if the actual lyric was shit.
Okay, okay.
But it, my first impression was ship.
Yeah.
Okay.
Oh great, great, great.
Oh, so, so glad.
Then I can.
That's good.
Yeah, you're definitely saying ship.
Yeah, you're definitely saying ship.
Oh great.
Oh great.
So relieved.
Oh, thank you.
Yeah.
Cause I was like.
Fly back, fly back.
Wait, I'm saying shit?
Yeah.
Oh great.
I feel like the more I listen to it, the more you're saying ship.
Oh great.
Oh, thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
All right.
Is that a solo?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
The whole song?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Oh nice.
Yeah.
Oh, thank you.
So if we, if that sounds shit to like people like you and should like re-record and you
know.
Find the shit isn't that bad, you know?
I mean, yeah.
I mean, it could mean something cool.
Yeah, of course.
Of course.
But that's not why you wanted to.
Yeah, yeah.
I wanted to ship.
I wanted to ship.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay, great.
Well, thank you.
Thank you.
Oh, it's really great to have you here.
Oh yeah.
Anytime man.
Anytime.
You know, I always like write, writing like lyrics in like mixed Japanese and English.
Yeah.
And sometimes I like, what is this like understandable or like, is this correct as an English?
12:03
Yeah.
But yeah.
If like, if you had to rely on the internet, how would you search that?
Like I, so for example, like everybody needs somebody in that case.
Okay.
Like everybody needs somebody caring.
Like those like a bit change phrase and.
I see.
Make it more like common one.
I see.
So you try to find an already existing sentence.
Yeah.
If I can find then like a sentence or like maybe one like a text phrase and then, oh,
this is the correct.
I see.
Yeah.
You don't like do, do like a background check of how popular the phrases are.
Like it could be just that one article, that rare article that uses that phrase, right?
Yeah.
Right.
Right.
Right.
Right.
So yeah, if there was only one article, then I could be like, oh, this might be a great
one, but if you can find several and then, oh.
I see.
Yeah.
Sounds.
But yeah, as, as I have you here, I'm going to ask you.
Oh yeah.
Go ahead.
Go ahead.
Yeah.
Thank you.
How about the possibility of the AI, the open AI things?
Yeah.
Like that, those guys can make lyrics just like that.
They can.
That's great.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Just check that out.
This is really mind blowing.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Try to make image like that.
Oh yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Right.
Right.
Right.
Right.
Diffusion.
Yeah.
I think I know what that is.
Something.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That was so sick, right?
Surprisingly, unbelievably like great.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Thanks for sending guys.
Thank you.
