Welcome to Kevin's English from podcast. Hello. Hello.
Alright. Okay.
What do we have for today? Checking those DMs. Yeah.
Alright, hold on. Sure, no problem.
It's taking time to... Oh yeah, no problem. Let me just give a little announcement for the plus episodes here.
Sure. Yeah.
We want more plus episodes, plus DMs. Oh yeah. Right.
We're getting a lot of normal podcast DMs, but the plus ones...
Yeah. Not so many. And I feel like if you go for the plus DMs, the gouge would pick it. Yeah. Yeah.
Definitely. Yeah. So please make sure put "Podcaster Plus" at the very beginning of your message.
Right. On the first line of the message. That makes it very... That was easier for us.
Yeah. Right. To look through the DMs.
Right. Thank you.
Alright. I'll pick this one.
Alright, pick this one. Alright.
Okay.
Thank you.
(Speaking Japanese)
Wow. Wow. Sounds... professional.
Yeah. I don't know what she's doing. Yeah. But...
I have no idea what... Right. Yeah.
Well, congratulations to her.
Right.
Now...
Thank you.
Mm.
Mm-hmm.
Oh. Oh.
Oh. Is it yours? Yeah, that's mine. Oh, yeah, sure. Go ahead. Go ahead.
Do you want to stop for a sec?
No, I can call him back later. Alright, got it. Got it. Sure.
Sorry. No problem. It's okay.
So...
(Speaking Japanese)
03:04
Thanks. (Speaking Japanese)
Yeah.
(Speaking Japanese)
Okay.
(Speaking Japanese)
Yeah.
I actually...
There's a way that I cope... Okay.
Deal with like topic subjects that I'm not interested in. Alright.
Is to try to find the beauty behind that subject. Okay.
Like there's got to be... I mean, there's a lot of people,
at least a certain amount of people that loves the subject, right? Yeah. Yeah.
That are addicted to law. Yeah.
That are in love with the beauty of law, right? Mm-hmm.
And I try to understand what is it about them,
about the subject of law that, you know, that draws them in.
True. And when you start figuring things out,
when you start like understanding what it's about and like...
You start actually getting interested in it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. Got that.
Like understanding why that subject even began.
Mm-hmm.
Right? Like why the law was needed in the first place. Yeah. Yeah.
Like if you start looking into those things,
like what made people think, "Oh, we need a law." Yeah.
"Let's set rules." How did that happen?
And like why things are like that?
If you... Understanding all those things really helps me like be interested in the subject.
Yeah. Right.
That's a great one. Yeah. Yeah.
Like a great way to cope with those situations. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
You love learning new things, right?
Yeah. I love learning new things. You love learning. Yeah.
I love learning.
So I love kind of learning process itself. Okay.
So it doesn't matter if it's like a...
those like a law subject or like science, whatever.
I love learning itself. But still, there are some topics that I love the most.
For example, like language, like music or football, like reading literature or those.
Yeah.
I don't like that much about like, you know, law.
Mm.
Or like, you know, there are some topics that I not kind of...
06:01
I feel, oh, that's kind of not my topic.
So then I don't study it.
Okay. Okay. So...
Procrastinate. Yeah.
And then I'll do it tomorrow. Yeah.
How about this? This is a new idea. Okay.
How about looking... How about going to Netflix, finding a movie or a drama that's based on law?
Oh, that's great. Like a law court.
Yeah. Law and order. That's one.
Suits. I love suits.
Oh, that's great.
That's based on law or anything related to law.
Yeah. That's great.
Finding a film that's about that subject and getting interested in that film first.
Oh, that's great.
Leading to the learning of the law.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Good idea.
Not a bad idea, right?
That's a great idea.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Great.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's a great attitude.
Yeah.
About new things.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Right.
I love starting something new.
Mm-hmm.
You know, the thing about me is that it never continues.
Okay.
So that's a demerit there.
I'm really positive.
I have this positive attitude towards starting something new.
Yeah.
Starting from zero.
Yeah.
I've never continuing and excelling until like for like five years.
No, I've never like that.
Oh, really?
I never understood the "Ishino ueni mo san nen."
Yeah.
Yeah.
That was like my contradiction.
Like should I go into a new field and expose myself to new things or should I go with the
"Ishino ueni mo san nen?"
Yeah.
Those two are contradicting, right?
Okay.
So starting something, people always say like, I mean, if you continue for three years, like
you're going to start seeing world that you wouldn't have been able to see.
Yeah.
Right?
Right.
It's a new world out there.
Like continuing something for three years, like it's just, I mean, people don't get to
that level.
Yeah.
So you'll start seeing things differently versus like, like go with your heart and like
if you want to just leave and do something new, do something new.
If you don't do it, you're not going to do it.
Like you're not going to get the experience.
So that was very contradicting and that was kind of one of the topics that I struggled
when I first decided to quit my company.
Yeah.
True.
Yeah.
True.
Right.
That's a difficult topic too.
Yeah.
Which one do you support?
Do you go for trying something new and giving something up when you're bored or like if you
don't see any light in them versus like, you know, I should at least continue for three
09:02
years because I don't want to be a quitter.
That's not a good habit.
Which one are you?
Okay.
Oh, that's a difficult question.
Yeah.
But it's not fun to you.
Like I mean, I agree with there are something you can only see after like several like times
of like a period of times that I agree with.
But like still, if you really don't enjoy that like activity, you don't need to like,
you know, keep, you know, stress inside or like a...
Yeah.
Keep pushing yourself.
Yeah.
If you think that's a waste of time, then you should go something different and try new
things and until you get, you know, the real one.
Yeah.
So I support that side.
So you're more of the let's move forward kind of guy.
If you don't fit that, that doesn't fit you, then you should go to the next thing.
Right.
Right.
Yeah.
If there's some amount inside of you saying that this might be my thing, then you should
stick with that and try like digging new.
Yeah.
Because it's always have new thing.
Even if you like you stay in the same place, if you dig like down, you can still find new
things.
That's true.
Yeah.
Like I love coffee and I've been drinking coffee for like several years, but these days
like I still find new things about coffee.
Really?
Yeah.
So it's still new to me even if you stay at the same place.
And it keeps you interested.
Yeah.
If slight amount of you saying that this might be your thing, then yeah.
Then you keep digging.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I guess.
All right.
Yeah.
That's a difficult question.
It is.
Yeah.
All right.
Thanks for listening guys.
