Welcome to Kevin's English Room Podcast!
I'm sorry I talked too much on the last episode.
- Yeah, I have so many places that you wanna recommend.
- I have so much energy for Yokohama and Minato Mirai.
Kept going for 20 minutes.
We didn't even answer her question.
I should answer her question.
- Yeah, do you have any other recommendations?
- Oh, I do, I do.
Maybe some day.
- All right, some day, right, some day.
Yeah, you're right.
You have to answer the question, so.
- So the original question,
topic was,
(speaking in foreign language)
Was it?
- I have.
I actually like to try out products
recommended by other people.
The reason why I jumbled my--
- Oh yeah. - Your legs is because,
okay, well that wasn't because someone recommended it to me,
but because it was trending, right?
It was, people were doing it,
and I was like, "Oh, maybe I should do it too."
That's how it all started.
I,
uh,
huh.
(speaking in foreign language)
- How many?
- Oh, you told me about the knife, right?
The steak knife that's really cuttable.
I'm still looking for it.
- Okay, you're still, okay.
- I'm still looking for it on,
like every time I go to a loft or like, toking hands,
I go to the fork section, knife section,
and look for like the really nice one,
but it's never there.
I've never, I never see any of those like,
really sharp, cuttable ones.
- That one I recommended, like you would do.
- It's like, that was a little bit like too expensive,
so I was like, "Hmm, maybe I'll go for something
that's like in the middle, in the mid,
maybe I can find that in like the," you know?
Because I don't know what it, how good it would be,
how satisfying it would be, so I'm just,
go for a mid-range. - Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- Yeah. - Yeah.
- But I, the idea of cutting my steak really clean
was an idea that you gave me,
and it's still stuck with me now.
- Trying to find the best one.
- Right, right, right. - Okay.
- So yeah, I mean, I've done a lot of things.
- Yeah.
- How about you, man?
- Oh, me too, of course.
Especially books.
- Ah.
- Mm.
- I have, you know, so many books that people,
you know, recommend me, or like some,
03:02
see there are so many guys on YouTube,
like on TV, or radios, they recommend some books.
- True.
- And then, oh, that sounds interesting, and I read that.
But like, I feel like books takes more time,
it's more time consuming than, for example,
me trying out a knife, right?
Because me trying out a knife,
and if it works for me or not,
I can determine it really quickly.
So it doesn't waste my time
if it doesn't work out for me, right?
But I feel like books, it takes more time
to determine whether if it fits you or not.
- Yeah.
- Isn't that, what do you, isn't that like,
do you, are you more careful, you feel like?
- True.
I'm careful when I choose some books that I read, or I buy.
Yeah.
So that's why I want to, you know,
some trustable, you know, well-experienced book readers,
recommendations, would be really, you know, important.
- Okay.
- Yeah, 'cause they read, like they've read
like thousands of books, they recommend three books.
- Right.
- That three must be, like, great, you know, books.
- I see.
- So.
- How about, since I gave an osusume from Minato Mirai,
how about you give us a, like a, like osusume,
recommendation of books to read?
- Like, what, books?
- Yeah, if, if, I'm not a book reader,
but like, I'm sure a lot of the listeners
are book readers, right?
Any recommendation?
- Of course.
Okay.
Saikou no Rougo.
- I think--
- By Dr. Yamada-san.
(laughing)
Okay, okay, cool.
- No, yeah, no, actually, we just, you know, received--
- Yeah, we just received the book from Yamada-sensei.
- Haven't read the book yet, so it's just, you know.
But, see, it looks great.
- It looks great, yeah.
(laughing)
- And see, the title was Saikou no Rougo,
and also, I guess that was the best, no, no, no.
Best Way of Aging.
- Oh, okay.
- Or something like, Best Aging, yeah.
See, I haven't read the book yet.
But the title was quite, you know, satisfied me.
- Something you want, you're interested in.
- Yeah, 'cause aging is something you cannot avoid.
So, there's no way of anti-aging.
- Okay.
- You know, 'cause aging is something inevitable.
You just have to face the aging.
So, there's only one way.
- Okay.
- You succeed on aging.
- Right, right.
- So, that stance of Yamada-san was fresh
and kind of, oh, I understand that from the title.
06:06
- I see, okay.
- But I haven't read the book.
- You haven't read it, all right.
Okay, that's your recommendation.
(laughing)
- And also, see on the,
(speaking in foreign language)
- Yeah.
- We took a podcast recording together.
That was fun, so please go check it.
(laughing)
He gave us his book.
- Yes, yes.
- That was interesting.
- That was interesting?
- You should read that.
- Oh, nice.
- That was really interesting.
He's like a, as you know, professional Michael Jackson freak,
even, and he knows everything.
Like in really, really tiny details.
And he writes about Michael Jackson himself,
or like he has, you know, brothers and sisters, right?
Jackson Five, the Jacksons.
- Yes, yes, yes.
- All the brothers and the families.
And you know, see, Michael has so many,
so much talent and so much money,
so much, you know, attentions.
So, he was obviously the star,
but also he was just one guy,
one, you know, lovely little boy.
- Right, a member of a family.
- Yeah, who had, you know, parents and brothers
and wanted to enjoy his life.
But you know, as he had so much, you know, talent
and, you know, famous-ness.
- Fame.
- Fame, yeah, fame.
And so, not only like,
was like a dictionary of Michael Jackson,
but it was story of his life.
- Okay.
- And that was quite moving and touching.
And when he died, see, there are so many stories behind.
And one of his brother had a speech on his funeral.
See, that was touching.
And yeah, now I can see not like Michael Jackson as a star,
like a character, but I can see one guy like me and you
who did so many great things.
Yeah, that was touching.
So, yeah, actually way more expected.
It was really, really interesting than I...
Yeah.
- Okay.
- That was good book.
- All right.
- Yeah.
- And you finished reading it.
- Oh yeah.
- Oh, it's fast.
(laughing)
- Yeah, that was good.
- Okay.
What was the title of the book called again?
(speaking in foreign language)
- Okay.
- I guess.
- I got it, I got it.
- Yeah.
And now I'm listening to Michael Jackson.
Started listening to all of his albums.
09:01
- You got inspired.
- Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- Okay, okay.
So that's your recommendation.
- Yeah, I recommend that.
- All right, got it.
- Yeah.
- All right.
- That was fun.
So.
- I'm not gonna.
(laughing)
It has to be in a video format.
- Yeah.
- I take way too much time.
- Yeah.
- It's impossible.
- Yeah.
- Yeah.
It's not in video, right?
It's not a video.
- No.
- Oh, then it's not gonna happen.
Sorry, but yeah.
- All right.
Thanks for listening guys.
- Thank you.
- Bye bye.
