Welcome back to another episode of Kevin's Things Room Podcast!
Gotta, uh, lemme...
Good morning.
Good morning!
Good morning.
Are you using your...
Cute tissue, huh?
Anpanman tissue, right?
Anpanman tissue.
Right, it's getting a little dull.
Yeah.
Maybe it is because of the time of the show, I'm a little bit runny nose here.
Maybe.
Maybe not.
Or you are having your...
Nervous?
Yeah.
Nervousness coming in?
Nerves coming in?
Yeah.
The one I get during the...
Recording on there.
Monday night.
Yeah.
Monday night live shows.
Yeah.
Right?
'Cause it's Monday today.
It is Monday.
So you're feeling little...
Oh yeah, already, right?
Nervousness.
Yeah.
So, you know what?
I was, uh, I wanted to...
On this episode, I want to talk to you about this new discovery I just found.
Wow.
So, like, the big, big discovery.
Big discovery, man.
Okay.
So, I walked into your room today to do this recording.
And you kindly made me coffee.
Thank you for that.
Good coffee, by the way.
Thank you.
And I also bought a...
No, yogurt.
Okay.
From 7-Eleven.
Yes, nearby.
And, um, I kind of drank the dude together.
Oh, okay.
You know?
And just, like, it felt not bad.
Oh, really?
And I kind of realized, okay, so there's espresso.
Espresso and milk makes a latte, which is tasty.
And an espresso and an ice cream makes this affogato.
I don't know how to say that in English.
Like, affogato?
Affogato?
I don't know how.
But, like, that's a good mix, right?
But, like, have you ever seen a...
Normally, yogurt and an espresso or, like, coffee go together.
No.
No, right?
No.
I think this is a new discovery.
Oh, yeah.
I think this is a...
Maybe I should make, like, this new restaurant of, like...
Okay, is that...
I'm doing it right now.
Yeah.
Drink yogurt and the coffee you made me.
So how does that, like, taste?
Is that, like, sweet a little bit?
So, drink yogurt is a little bit sour-y, right?
Yeah.
And that's a...
It's a good spice to it.
Okay.
Like, imagine, like...
So, at the base, it tastes like a latte.
Okay, okay.
Obviously, because it's milk and coffee, right?
It tastes like a latte.
Yeah.
But, like, the sourness adds this little spice to it that makes the drink a little bit more interesting.
And this is just coffee, not espresso.
But I'm actually going to try this at my house.
I have an espresso machine.
Yeah.
I can shoot out espressos.
I'm going to try it with an actual espresso machine versus in this drink yogurt.
03:04
So it just might turn out to be, like, a huge discovery, maybe.
Yeah.
You discovered a new drink.
Yeah.
New drink.
A new kind of latte.
Yeah.
Like, like, latte is like smoothie.
Yeah.
Like, coffee.
Exactly.
Tea.
Exactly.
And...
What do you call them?
We've got to find a name for this.
Yeah.
Because everyone in Japan is going to be drinking this once I find out that it tastes really good.
Yeah.
Like, I've got to be...
I've got to set the bar...
Like...
So, how did latte get its name?
Must be like...
No idea?
Milk.
Milked.
Ah.
Yeah.
It's in Italian.
Okay.
It's related to the word milk.
Yeah.
Okay.
Well, let's name it...
Like, you know, cafe au lait.
That's coffee and milk, you know.
Okay.
Cafe au lait.
Le is milk.
Yeah.
Coffee in milk.
Coffee in milk.
Okay.
Yeah.
Well, so, like, how about, like, uh...
Cavanizer.
Cavanizer.
Wait, I've got to put my...
You know how a lot of the inventions, they put their names in there?
Yeah, of course.
Of course.
Like, right.
Yeah, that's really...
Like, Saran wrap comes from, like, saran.
Yeah, did you know that?
Saran?
Yeah.
Mr. Saran?
Yeah, I think so.
Oh, really?
Yeah.
I think so.
Okay.
So, like, what?
Like, the...
Yeah, like...
Can you think of another example which the name comes from?
It's inventor?
Like, um...
Like, the stars, maybe?
Right, some of the...
You're right.
Stars in the galaxies are named really based on the founder, right?
Yeah, yeah.
So, right, there you go.
Like, um...
What do you call that again?
Cavanizer.
I got a hint from, like, womanizer.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I got a hint from, like, womanizer.
Britney Spears.
Cavanizer.
It sounds like a little too...
Right, too spicy, right?
Yeah, like, too...
I understand.
Like, I want it to be more softer, more, like, round.
Yeah, like, freemy a little bit.
Yeah, I get you.
So, how about, like, um...
I don't know, like...
Uh...
Kavingo.
Oh, that's funky.
Really, like...
Kavingo.
06:00
Kavingo.
Feel something, like...
Feel the beat and, uh...
Kavingo.
I'm gonna step away from Kevin a little bit.
Okay.
I'm just gonna think about, like, actually, if I were to, like, actually...
Yeah.
It would be like...
Uh...
So, nothing funny at all.
Okay.
But, like, for real.
Yogurt Preso.
Right?
Yeah.
It's not funny.
Not funny.
It's like, "I'm gonna do this before I release it."
No twist at all.
Like, everyone's gonna understand what it is.
Right, exactly.
This should be, like, mixed with yogurt and espresso.
You like the...
Okay, yeah, right.
Yeah.
So...
Yeah, like...
Well, you're coming in hard.
You like the Kevin one better.
Yeah.
So far, Kevinizer is the best.
Kevinizer is the...
First one's always the best.
Yeah.
Okay, get three.
Hmm.
Like, it's kind of like...
It's been so many ages, you know, after espressos have been invented.
I'm sure so many combinations have been tested and tried, and I'm sure yogurt was one of them.
And I'm sure it failed.
That's why it's not out there.
But you might...
But you never know.
But you found it.
Right, right.
As I'm tasting coffee and yogurt, I'm saying, "It's not bad, actually."
So...
Yeah.
Yeah, you know, if the mixture is right, it's pretty good.
Like, it's like a crispy nomu yogurt.
Crispy.
Crispy?
Right.
Crispy, like, koubashii.
Okay.
Koubashii nomu yogurt.
If I say it like that, that sounds good, doesn't it?
Koubashii nomu yogurt.
Yeah, like, sounds interesting.
It does, it does, it does, it does.
So nomu yogurt is a little bigger part.
Right, I...
Just now I tried a combination where the yogurt was a little bit more.
Then I felt that crispiness.
Yeah.
So that could be, like, the golden ratio, maybe.
But, like, I have to try on a lot of things.
Yeah.
Wow.
Yeah, but if you invent a new drink, that's, like, historical.
That is.
Mata.
What should I do if I...
What are, like, the right steps to take?
09:00
Like, if I actually found the combination of drinks that's really, like, gold?
Should I, like, is there, like, a patent for that?
I don't know.
Right?
Like, patents are for, like, technologies and stuff like that, right?
I don't know if it's different drinks or...
Yeah, like, there's no one who has rights for beer.
Exactly.
Or coffee.
Or kashisu orange.
Yeah, yeah.
Right?
So maybe you can't?
Or...
Maybe you can't.
Maybe you can't.
Then you have to put your name on it.
Exactly!
Credibility, right?
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
I'm gonna cry.
Damn.
Yeah.
And you should start your business.
I should.
Yeah.
Maybe start, like, maybe a cafe or, like, direct-to-consumer online shops.
Yeah.
Or, like, maybe, right?
Yeah.
COVID, right?
You gotta do things online.
Right, right.
Of course.
Right.
We can borrow a kitchen car and all.
Right.
Do, like, a...
Right.
Yeah.
We can name the car, like, "Kevin Boom Boom."
Why is that?
Where does that come from?
Boom Boom is an onomatopoeia for cars.
Yeah, I know.
Oh, I thought that's what you were questioning.
No!
I thought you were wondering what's Boom Boom.
Like, "It's an onomatopoeia for cars."
I was just like...
Oh, you knew.
Yeah.
It's back to the credibility thing.
Just give the car credibility, too.
Okay.
So you're gonna be...
You're gonna be starting a business with your car, Kevin Boom Boom.
Yeah, there you go.
Showing your Kevin eyes off.
Yeah.
Pretty, like, pretty narcissistic business, right?
And I am the Kevin.
Yeah.
I remember when I was doing the restaurant,
and I had an opportunity to open up a shop in Shinjuku.
Just, like, a really simple stand-up shop.
And inside the JR Kaisatsu.
Wow, that's a great opportunity.
Right.
And we had to fix together this marketing prop for, like...
So we positioned, we placed a monitor,
and then we decided to run videos, right?
And telling about how the owner and the creator of this product
has put so much effort and so much thought into this pudding.
12:02
We were selling puddings and all of that into this product.
And we were, like, with this dramatic background music
and this, like, cinematic shot from, like, Ichigan Ref.
Yeah.
Right.
And then, so, right, the video was running,
and I was actually standing right next to the TV,
actually selling that pudding, and it was kind of embarrassing, you know?
Customers would come in and be like, "Oh, oh."
"Oh, this is the owner of the video?"
It was really kind of embarrassing, dude.
Right, because you were on the screen.
Right, I was on the screen just talking about looking cool.
Telling your history, like, "Yeah, I was out there telling people."
"It was really hard."
Exactly, exactly.
"It's really for the customers."
I can't, it's just a little bit embarrassing, you know?
It just reminded me of that.
Just a flashback there.
Okay, thanks for listening, guys.
Thank you.
You guys need to try that out, too.
Yeah.
The plain yogurt.
And espresso.
If you don't have espresso, just make coffee before you go.
Call it the Kevinizer.
There you go.
Bye.
