「庭じまい」との出会い

昨日はサンマルクカフェに行ってきたんですけども、 Yesterday I went to theSan Mark Cafe,
その時に近くにいるマダムが、3人ぐらいのグループだと思うんですけど、話しされてて、 andthere was a group of ladies, I think there were 3of them,
電車の話とか、なんかいろいろしてたんですけど、その中で1つ電車の話とか、なんかいろいろしてたんですけど、 and they were talking about trains and stuff,
その中で1つ、庭じまいっていう話をしてたんですよね。 and one of them wastalking about kowanko.
「庭じまい」の意味と背景
なんやろ、庭じまいって、なんとかじまい、 What the hell is kowanko?
なんとかじまいって最近多いと思うんですけど、 I think kowanko and jimaiare popular these days,
家庭再縁とか、ガーデニングとかをされてて、年を取ってくるごとに、仕事量が多いんで、なかなかできないよっていうことで、 it's hard to do housework or gardening,and as you get older,
仕事量が多いんで、なかなかできないよっていうことで、全部終わらせてしまうっていうことのようなんですけど、 you have a lot of work to do, so it's hard todo it, so you end up doing it all.
「庭じまい」の現状と工夫
そういうことを聞いた後に、たまたまニュースの記事で、そういう話をしてあって、 Afterhearing that, I happened to hear that in a newsarticle,
京都の住んでるところも、結構庭に植物を植えてらっしゃる方が多いんで、 and a lot ofpeople in Kyoto plant plants in their gardens,
こういうところを言われるんだなーって。お金持っているところだと、剪定してくれる方がいらっしゃったり、管理してくれる人がいると思うんですけど、 I think there are people whoare in charge of this kind of thing. I think thereare people who are in charge of this kind ofthing.
一般的な家庭の方だと、自分でやられるっていうことで、特にご高齢の方が手立つのったりとかして、 Ifyou're a general householder, you can do ityourself, especially if you're an elderly person.
60代くらいの方がそういうのを手立たされてるっていうのを見てるんでね。 Well, I'mseeing that people in their 60s are doing it.
そういうところを、成長速度が速いものに関してはちょっとやめて、簡単に手入れできるものだけ残すっていうやり方があるそうなんですけどね。 It seems that there is a way tostop doing things that grow fast and leave onlythings that can be easily organized.
今後の展望
そういう仕事もどんどん増えてくるんだろうなーっていうふうなことで感じたので、今日は話をしてみました。I felt that such work would increase more andmore, so I talked about it today.
