Japan's first apatite-type deposit has been discovered at Nakaosaka Iron Mine in Shimonita Town.On the 22nd, Shimonita Town announced that the deposit, which closed in the mid-Showa period, was found to be apatite-type through research by Seikei University. It contains rare earths, and it is expected that there will be others in the country. Shimonita Town has been certified as a Japanese Geopark, and will use this discovery to promote itself.
