He was saying that this is noisy, but I'm like, oh, no, I need the noise.

but Yusuke is one of those people who somehow knows everybody in the program
or in the school or whichever one that you're at.
Like this guy, when he threw like a farewell party for graduation,
you know, I invited like 10 people.
He invited, like, I don't know how many.
Were there like 70 people or more at some point?
Like, you know, all in your backyard and their parents and their partners were all there.
And somehow everybody knew Yusuke.
And it's not just like people from your program, right?
Like, I was like, how does a theater program person know Yusuke?
Like, what the hell?
I don't know anybody in theater PhD program.
Like, I had zero sit-ins.
How does this happen?
We spent the same amount of time in the same school.
And you somehow managed to know like half the school
and me only barely knowing people in my own department.
Like, you're even friends with a person in my department that I don't know that well.
I'm not sure.

It just happened.
Sorry, I'm just naturally so charming.
People can't stop talking to me.
And I just talk to people.

We are friends through friends, I guess.
Yeah, it was truly funny when I went there.
And like, I was imagining like a small gathering of friends.
You know, I didn't expect to know people because, you know,
you're from a different department, but I figured they're all scientists.
And then I went and it's like a freaking Mexican catering restaurant people.

And it was like a mini wedding reception.
And all these people were there.
And yeah, it was a lot bigger than I thought.
I was like, oh, shit.
Like, where is even Yusuke?
I couldn't even find him for like the first half.
Yeah, that was with a friend, though, with a friend that we co-hosted.

Because, like, I think scientists have, like, bad stereotypes of ourselves.
Of being hikikomori and shy and not talking.
Like, you know, being super socially awkward.
And while there are people like that, and there are probably statistically more people,
more scientists like that than not.
And it's not necessarily a bad thing.
I'm just, like, generalizing big time.
But I feel like it's good to know, like, good for other people to know that scientists aren't
just like, you know, people with goggles, with unhealthy pale skin.
Like, I think it's good for people to know that there are people who are quite chatty,

quite extroverted.
I mean, a lot of the people, especially the ones I met in America, are very chatty people,
especially when they're talking about their sciences.

But I do feel like you're breaking the stereotype, which is good.
