年の総括と七味五月三夜
Welcome to Kevin's English Room Podcast plus. Oh, no, it's not plus. Oh, not plus. Normal episode. Yes. And also the very last episode for 2023. Oh, wow. It is scheduled to be released on December 31. So happy. Happy New Year's, guys. Happy New Year's. Yeah. Yeah. Do you think at this time you'll be doing
the 今年の抱負 for yourself? What day is it? What date is it? Is it the last day? This will be released on New Year's Eve. Okay. This episode. So during New Year's Eve, are you going to do the 今年の抱負? So 今年の抱負 will be the beginning of the next day I'll do. Oh, I see. So it's the next day. Yeah. January 1, 2nd and 3rd. Second. Yeah. Somewhere
around that is when you conduct your. Yes. 今年の抱負 is on 2nd January. And what I do on 31st, the last day, is I recap this year. The recap. I see. I see. I see. I see. What I did, what I achieved, what I didn't achieve. That's very important. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And I'm doing this 七味五月七夜。 Sorry. It's 七味三夜。
with. So that's like. Okay. It's a very traditional one. Okay. Yeah. Never even heard of it. Yeah. Yeah. So it's like. Very traditional guy. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's a very traditional custom that gather, you know, we gather in the family and each one tells their, you know, stories about this year. Okay. Yeah. And like seven great foods. Okay. Yeah. What they ate this year. Yeah. Seven great
foods, like delicious foods. Okay. That they loved. In this year. Okay. And then 七味五月。 That's like five biggest happiness moments. Okay. 七味五月三夜。 That's like three new lovely people that you met in this year. Wow. And saying it in like a, to, you know. You share that with the, with the family members and stuff. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Wow. That's what I do. I'm not, we're not doing this as a family, but I, at least I myself, I write down.
Ah.
To recap and memorize that. Yeah.
Do people get depressed when they meet, when they didn't meet three people?
Like, is that, is that like a failure of life?
I mean, yeah, that's a good point.
Yeah. Like, I think it's possible that.
Yeah. Like, I only met one people.
Yeah. Like that, is that, did I fail this year?
Yeah. I never thought about that.
Okay. All right.
Yeah. That's true. That's true.
But I mean, it doesn't have to be like three, five, three, seven.
I mean, the important thing is just to recap and.
To recap what happened.
Yeah. Remember what I did and.
Ah. I see.
You know.
About like good things in this year.
年末の予定
Yeah. Which is very healthy.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
I think, yeah, I agree.
Yeah.
I think that's a good thing to do.
So I think on the last day, I am doing that.
Ah.
You'd be doing this around in K.
Yeah.
Yeah. Right, right, right, right, right, right, right.
What do you think you're doing in this?
Last year?
The last day?
Yeah.
Of, I have zero plans.
Mm-hmm.
Still to this day for New Year's.
Ah.
So, I'll most likely be doing the everyday living shit.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Eating healthy.
Maybe going to the gym.
Yeah, right.
Sample is a good thing.
Mm.
You know?
The New Year's Eve Tokyo is a view that I would love to see.
Wow.
You know?
Is that different from the usual days?
Probably exactly the same.
Okay.
But, you know, the people are different, right?
Yeah.
The people aren't outside probably.
Right.
It's quiet.
It's like less people.
So, like, I might get a different vibe, right?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So...
Yeah, maybe some decorations and...
Sure.
Yeah.
That could...
That's possible.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's possible.
Hmm.
But, not much planned, you know?
Not much planned.
Mm-hmm.
Hmm.
Yeah.
Not going anywhere.
No.
Not the Jinjas, right?
I mean, like a trip, short little trip.
韓国への旅行
Oh, a short trip?
No.
Where would you go?
Where would you go for a New Year's short trip?
I don't know.
What would be a great cliche trip?
Huh.
So, it's like we have an image of, like, going to grandparents' house.
So, that's why I think I came up with this.
I see, I see, I see.
How about this?
How about I go to Korea?
Oh, yeah.
Spend New Year's in Korea.
Yeah, that's new.
Like, I've been wanting to go to Korea for a long time.
When would you ever get to experience New Year's in Korea, right?
That's special.
That's...
That's exciting.
I don't...
I have no...
I don't have any idea what's going on in my day in Korea.
It's possible that I'll be alone in a hotel in New Year's, right?
Because I have no friends there, right?
Because I'll go there alone and just be like,
well, where am I going to go?
I can't go to a club.
I'm too...
I'm too introverted to go to a club.
You can just buy some food and a confidence.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Bring back the room.
2023年の祝日の予定
Yeah.
But, I mean, you can at least...
Experience the vibe of the, you know, town.
Sure, like Myeongdong.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Those major cities, right?
I'll go to...
Good, good.
Yeah, I mean, I have really...
That's good.
No idea.
True.
Like, is that even...
Yeah, probably they celebrate it.
In some sort of ways, right?
Yeah, like Japan.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Wow.
I'll go to...
I don't know, maybe they'll do some...
You know, in New York, they do like a concert, right?
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Like the ball dropping.
Yeah.
If they got that similar shit,
then great to see, right?
Yeah.
Maybe those K-pop stars are like...
Oh, that would be lovely.
Gather in some place and do some...
That would be awesome.
Like some kind of kohaku, tagasen, kind of, you know.
I would love to be a part of that.
Yeah, yeah.
True.
Yeah, could be.
Hmm.
That's exciting.
That's pretty exciting.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
I never thought about that.
Yeah.
Who would think of going to Korea on...
Right?
Yeah.
I guess I'm thinking of tickets.
I guess I'm thinking of going to Korea on tickets.
If the tickets are lower?
No?
It's the opposite.
日本と韓国のイベント
It'll get higher.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Because people are moving all over the place
to meet their important ones.
Right.
Right?
Yeah.
Because you have many Korean-origin people in Japan
and they go back to their grandparents' places.
It's higher up.
Yeah.
Right.
Yeah.
But many, you know, like,
are like going to the...
Like, you know, like, Hawaii.
True.
Or New Year's Day.
Yeah.
That's true.
So...
That's a thing, right?
Yeah.
That's a...
That's a thing that already exists.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Going abroad.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Seems like a fun thing to do.
Yeah.
I think so.
So...
I might just be in Korea when this podcast is out.
Wow.
Yeah.
We'll see.
Oh, wow.
We'll see.
We'll see.
We'll see.
We'll see.
All right.

That sucked.
That was funny.
